:01:15. > :01:17.French riot police oversaw the destruction of their illegal camps.

:01:18. > :01:21.800 people have been told to move on ` although it?s not clear where

:01:22. > :01:28.There were angry scenes as bulldozers moved in to clear the two

:01:29. > :01:31.main campsites early this morning, amid concerns of a scabies outbreak

:01:32. > :01:39.Simon Jones was there, and has sent this report from Calais. A last

:01:40. > :01:49.desperate protest as the bulldozers go in

:01:50. > :01:51.by one immigrant who called this camp

:01:52. > :01:56.his home. One of hundreds told to leave. It is very bad. They want to

:01:57. > :01:59.catch us, arrest us and put us in prison. Many immigrants, supported

:02:00. > :02:05.by campaigners, resisted the attempts by the authorities to get

:02:06. > :02:14.people onto buses for medical treatment and dispersal. We wanted

:02:15. > :02:20.to leave the country only because there is a war in the country. And

:02:21. > :02:26.France is unable to give something, to give food, a roof, a bed. We do

:02:27. > :02:30.not agree with that. It is not possible for France to accept. The

:02:31. > :02:33.day had begun calmly, the immigrants knowing this would be

:02:34. > :02:40.their last morning in the camp, awaiting the arrival of the police

:02:41. > :02:44.who were closing it on public health grounds. The police are out in force

:02:45. > :02:49.in this camp. They are checking tent by tent

:02:50. > :02:58.to make sure no one is left inside. They are telling people they must

:02:59. > :03:10.leave so they can begin the task of clearing the camp. Where will you go

:03:11. > :03:14.now? Maybe in the street, the park. I do not have a place. England. You

:03:15. > :03:22.want to go to England? Yes. Why England? Because they do asylum in

:03:23. > :03:27.England. Asylum? Yes. England is good. Work is good. This food

:03:28. > :03:30.distribution centre is where many may bed down tonight. The

:03:31. > :03:34.say they have no choice but to act. TRANSLATION: The camps will be

:03:35. > :03:38.closed. They were far too big. They could no longer be properly managed.

:03:39. > :03:43.And many residents at Calais say it is about time the police were called

:03:44. > :03:50.in. We just hope to find a solution here. It is a shame for France and

:03:51. > :04:00.for Calais to see people live like this. TRANSLATION: It is a good

:04:01. > :04:03.thing. They should go elsewhere. The camp has now gone, but many

:04:04. > :04:06.immigrants freely admit that their desire to get to Kent remains as

:04:07. > :04:31.What is happening this evening? The police plan to put them on coaches

:04:32. > :04:38.and offered them medication and then transport them to other parts of

:04:39. > :04:46.France. But many have simply refused to go. They did not trust the

:04:47. > :04:51.promises of the police. This is the daily where they are offered food

:04:52. > :04:58.each night. Somehow plot came to them. They are planning to bed down

:04:59. > :05:05.here for the night. It has been a day of high tension. Both the police

:05:06. > :05:10.and the immigrants are watching to see how the situation will develop

:05:11. > :05:14.Our exclusive footage of migrants, riding on the axles

:05:18. > :05:19.Britain, re`ignited concerns over illegal immigration from Calais.

:05:20. > :05:22.According to the authorities in the French city, at least 100

:05:23. > :05:31.migrants a week are reaching the UK by concealing themselves on trucks.

:05:32. > :05:34.One French charity says since 2002 there have been 200 migrants

:05:35. > :05:40.And migrants who are trying to cross the channel and reach Dover are from

:05:41. > :05:42.an array of countries including Syria, Afghanistan and Iraq.

:05:43. > :05:45.Well let's now go to Dover where we're joined by the town's

:05:46. > :05:48.MP Charlie Elphicke who recently visited the camps with

:05:49. > :05:51.Mr Elphicke, you've seen how determined

:05:52. > :05:57.the people who've been living in the camps are, isn't this just going

:05:58. > :06:13.That is my concern. While I welcome the camps being cleared we do not

:06:14. > :06:18.want another set of camps. We want to see these people repatriated by

:06:19. > :06:22.the French authorities or the asylum claims processed.

:06:23. > :06:25.The French have said repeatedly that they don't have the resources

:06:26. > :06:28.The police pick them up and move them on,

:06:29. > :06:36.It is important to Calais and to Dover that the French do take

:06:37. > :06:43.There doesn't seem to be much Britain can do to force the French

:06:44. > :06:59.That is part of the difficulty that we have in the UK. Seeing to the

:07:00. > :07:04.French Government, please repatriate these people. We take responsibility

:07:05. > :07:07.on the side of the border. We have dealt with the issues of welfare to

:07:10. > :07:11.responsibility on the side of the border. We have dealt with the

:07:12. > :07:14.issues of wealthier cubism. Britain is no longer Eldorado.

:07:15. > :07:18.You've said we have to put paid to this myth that Britain is Eldorado `

:07:19. > :07:20.but let?s face it, for people travelling

:07:21. > :07:33.There is definitely an issue they are. Any place in Europe is more

:07:34. > :07:37.attractive than these places. We need to take firm action against

:07:38. > :07:47.trafficking gangs. An international effort is required. And you can see

:07:48. > :07:53.our exclusive report on our Facebook page.

:07:54. > :07:55.A former Charlton and Gillingham footballer is fighting

:07:56. > :07:58.for his life in intensive care in South Africa, after being

:07:59. > :08:01.involved in a serious car accident last Friday while on holiday.

:08:02. > :08:04.20`year`old George Howard from Rainham has been in a coma for the

:08:05. > :08:11.Our Home Affairs reporter Rebecca Williams has more.

:08:12. > :08:22.He played for Charlton and gelling. George Howard was on holiday last

:08:23. > :08:27.week when he was involved in a car crash. He is now on a life`support

:08:28. > :08:34.machine. Friends and former team`mates have spoken of their

:08:35. > :08:45.shock. This is very serious. He could be in hospital for months. We

:08:46. > :09:00.are taking it by the hour. He could die. He will pull through IM sure.

:09:01. > :09:07.You are not in the game long. George Howard could be seen here being

:09:08. > :09:15.interviewed. He went to save Africa to take a break from playing. He is

:09:16. > :09:27.in a critical condition. He joined gelling last summer but was. Their

:12:44. > :12:53.disqualified from driving for six months after a vehicle registered to
