:00:22. > :00:25.He spent a month grooming the child who didn't really exist.

:00:26. > :00:27.When he went to meet her at Bluewater Shopping Centrd

:00:28. > :00:30.he was confronted by the group who'd been posing as the child.

:00:42. > :00:44.Paedophile Mark McKenna belheved he was about to meet

:00:45. > :00:47.the 11-year-old girl he had been grooming online for sex,

:00:48. > :00:50.instead he was confronted bx a group of paedophile hunters.

:01:00. > :01:01.Following his arrest McKenn` was sentenced to five years

:01:02. > :01:04.in prison, with the judge c`lled in his behaviour abhorrent.

:01:05. > :01:07.The men behind the sting gave this reaction.

:01:08. > :01:09.It is a serious situation and these are people preying on children

:01:10. > :01:13.and we want to see harsher sentences because it must be stopped,

:01:14. > :01:17.The group calling itself The Hunted One had set up a profile

:01:18. > :01:21.of a fictitious 11-year-old girl on Instagram, McKenna

:01:22. > :01:26.then groomed her online, suggesting they meet up for sex

:01:27. > :01:31."You'll have to be my daughter for the day."

:01:32. > :01:34.He even told her his girlfrhend was in London and said,

:01:35. > :01:44.Just before they were due to meet he sent a picture of an unopened

:01:45. > :01:46.packet of condoms and the words "I have these."

:01:47. > :01:50.Hours later he was under arrest but there was a warning to the over

:01:51. > :01:53.You may have made flaws in gaining evidence in the first place,

:01:54. > :01:55.entrapment and agent provoc`teur, all of those things.

:01:56. > :01:59.Inciting a person to commit an offence is a huge danger.

:02:00. > :02:02.You also don't know if the police are already investigating

:02:03. > :02:12.This particular case we know would not have gone to court

:02:13. > :02:16.and the guy would never havd been caught if it was not for wh`t we do.

:02:17. > :02:19.We don't interfere with polhce at all, that is not our intdntion.

:02:20. > :02:22.Everything we do is basically what we are trying to do ourselves,

:02:23. > :02:23.going out and try to catch paedophiles.

:02:24. > :02:26.The judge told McKenna he stcceeded in destroying his own familx

:02:27. > :02:35.and was placed on the sex offenders register for life.

:02:36. > :02:43.Passing sentence at the judge called the court how McKenna received hate

:02:44. > :02:48.mail and death threats following his conviction and as well as losing his

:02:49. > :02:53.job and his girlfriend he w`s now to lose his liberty.

:02:54. > :02:55.A violent man, who'd been jailed twice before,

:02:56. > :02:58.has been found guilty of murdering two people from Kent and severely

:02:59. > :03:01.Foster Christian, fatally stabbed Simon Gorecki

:03:02. > :03:03.and Natasha Sadler-Ellis and injured her son Connaugh Harris

:03:04. > :03:09.The court heard how a row over the temperature of a shower led

:03:10. > :03:14.to a bloody scene at shared accommodation in Canterbury.

:03:15. > :03:17.The frontrunner to become the next president of France has said

:03:18. > :03:19.Britain's border must be pushed back to the Kent coast.

:03:20. > :03:23.Alain Juppe said he wanted to renegotiate the Anglo-Frdnch

:03:24. > :03:26.agreement which allows Brithsh border officials to

:03:27. > :03:30.The Dover MP Charlie Elphicke has called Mr Juppe's proposal

:04:10. > :04:15.Dave Cash was one of the first DJ's on BBC Radio 1, alongside the likes

:04:16. > :04:26.Dave Cash made radio historx as one of the original Radio 1 DJs

:04:27. > :04:32.We're with you here until two o'clock so hang on.

:04:33. > :04:36.He already made a name for himself on pirate radio alongside

:04:37. > :04:42.Kenny Everett with their an`rchic Kenny And Cash Show.

:04:43. > :04:46.Those early days were spent offshore, away from the long arm

:04:47. > :04:51.of the law, which did not allow stations without licences

:04:52. > :04:57.He recalled that time in a BBC interview ten years ago.

:04:58. > :05:01.The studio used to go up and down 20 feet, so you would be

:05:02. > :05:04.banging your head on the roof when you were trying to do ` radio

:05:05. > :05:06.programme, so you'd end up with "Ladies and gentlemen,

:05:07. > :05:14.The broadcaster Tony Blackbtrn knew him from that time.

:05:15. > :05:16.I always thought the shows were very entertaining

:05:17. > :05:21.He and Kenny particularly did a great programme.

:05:22. > :05:24.Like many of Radio 1 pioneers, Dave cash became a pioneer `nd made

:05:25. > :05:32.Ladies and gentlemen, a brand-new one straight in at 2

:05:33. > :05:42.Two years ago he celebrated 50 years on the job and said

:05:43. > :05:47.In later years, he could as he could be heard on BBC Radio Kent,

:05:48. > :05:49.Surrey and Sussex every Sunday playing country favourites.

:05:50. > :05:53.I think most of our listeners probably grew up with Dave Cash

:05:54. > :05:57.in one form or another from listening to various

:05:58. > :06:00.stations over the years, and for the past 17 years whth us

:06:01. > :06:03.on BBC Radio Kent and we were very lucky to have him

:06:04. > :06:13.The last time I saw him was at BBC Radio Kent and I went

:06:14. > :06:16.into the studio next door and he was there with this charming

:06:17. > :06:18.wife and his little dog and the impression I got

:06:19. > :06:23.I think the last years of hhs life were very happy indeed.
