:00:24. > :00:26.Hospital in Brighton is expecting to continue in that

:00:27. > :00:31.Our health Correspondent Mark Norman has more.

:00:32. > :00:35.Another week, another insight into the pressure the NHS is under.

:00:36. > :00:38.This trust has been at the heart of the highest state of alert every

:00:39. > :00:42.The impact is being felt by patients.

:00:43. > :00:48.I was taken to A and I had to sleep in A

:00:49. > :00:59.I was just sitting there and said, any

:01:00. > :01:05.There are four levels of alert, Opel 4 is the highest,

:01:06. > :01:18.The trust told us its staff were working

:01:19. > :01:21.hard to give patients the emergency care they needed and it was making

:01:22. > :01:23.improvements to help with the flow of patients.

:01:24. > :01:27.However, the impact on patients is concerning some.

:01:28. > :01:30.Some who have been in hospital, as soon

:01:31. > :01:34.as they are ready to go home, or likely to be asked to go home,

:01:35. > :01:40.the support systems in the community,

:01:41. > :01:43.whether it is family or friends or a service

:01:44. > :01:48.that they pay for, provided by the local council, they are

:01:49. > :01:55.At least three other trusts in Kent and Sussex went

:01:56. > :01:57.to the highest level of alert last week.

:01:58. > :02:02.All our trusts failed to hit the specific target for A

:02:03. > :02:08.At Durham Valley, they even took to social media to encourage former

:02:09. > :02:11.staff members to come back and cover shifts.

:02:12. > :02:14.For our members, they would say they are at the end of their

:02:15. > :02:22.Most organisations across the system had been working at high

:02:23. > :02:29.While Brighton is not in the worst performing trust, it is under

:02:30. > :02:33.pressure and is telling patient groups it doesn't expect to come out

:02:34. > :02:42.A Sussex teenager who admitted selling thousands of pounds worth

:02:43. > :02:47.of fake festival tickets has been sentenced to 21 months in a young

:02:48. > :02:52.Benjamin Hyland-Ward from Saltdean, left hundreds of people disappointed

:02:53. > :02:56.after taking ?60,000 for tickets that he failed

:02:57. > :02:58.to produce for the Bestival event on the Isle of Wight

:02:59. > :03:05.The 19-year-old had pleaded guilty at Lewes Crown Court.

:03:06. > :03:08.Two members of a drugs gang have been jailed following the discovery

:03:09. > :03:12.of almost ?8 million worth of cannabis in Sittingbourne.

:03:13. > :03:15.57-year-old Thomas Cullen from Liverpool was sentenced

:03:56. > :03:58.because their Year 12 grades were not considered good enough.

:03:59. > :04:01.Parents have told us their children have been made to feel

:04:02. > :04:04.like failures, separated from their friends, and given just

:04:05. > :04:06.weeks to find a new place for their final year at

:04:07. > :04:10.There are 32 grammar schools in Kent.

:04:11. > :04:13.In the last year, 266 Year 12s, or students in the lower sixth

:04:14. > :04:16.form, left by the end of the academic year.

:04:17. > :04:18.Invicta Grammar School had the highest number leave,

:04:19. > :04:24.Our education correspondent Bryony MacKenzie has more.

:04:25. > :04:28.Selective education not just from primary to secondary,

:04:29. > :04:31.but in many cases in year 12 as well.

:04:32. > :04:33.But for one parent who wanted to remain anonymous,

:04:34. > :04:37.their child didn't reach the required grades at AS-level

:04:38. > :04:41.They claim the policy at Invicta Grammar left them

:04:42. > :04:46.We felt not completing her education with her peers would be detrimental

:04:47. > :04:51.She just needed more support, mainly with revision techniques.

:04:52. > :04:55.Whether they acted legally or not, their treatment of our daughter,

:04:56. > :05:00.and the harshness of pastoral care we received, was shocking.

:05:01. > :05:05.There is no legislation that allows them to remove students on the

:05:06. > :05:09.grounds of performance halfway through a course.

:05:10. > :05:14.Students are asked to sign a home-school agreement at

:05:15. > :05:17.the beginning of the sixth form course, but that actually

:05:18. > :05:31.Invicta's sixth form learning agreement states:

:05:32. > :05:44.If a student is allowed to continue despite serious reservations...

:05:45. > :05:48.It's a common policy but not one that works at every school.

:05:49. > :05:51.A lot of them make significant improvements between year 12

:05:52. > :05:54.and the end of year 13, and I think schools need to have

:05:55. > :05:56.faith in their own students and to push them hard

:05:57. > :06:02.Invicta Girls' Grammar denies the claims and says students

:06:03. > :06:06.are supported and advised about what is best for them.
