:00:44. > :00:50.Families of the Shoreham air disaster victims say

:00:51. > :00:53.they are still waiting for answers, even though all 21 recommendations

:00:54. > :00:56.of a major new report have been accepted by the

:00:57. > :01:00.11 men died when a vintage jet crashed on the A27

:01:01. > :01:04.Today's report from the Air Accident Investigation Branch is designed

:01:05. > :01:07.to make sure a similar catastrophe can't happen at an

:01:08. > :01:12.But the families say they're no closer to knowing where blame

:01:13. > :01:23.Nearly a year and a half on from the catastrophic crash that

:01:24. > :01:25.claimed 11 lives at the Shoreham Airshow, today

:01:26. > :01:27.confirmation that the regulations surrounding future airshows will be

:01:28. > :01:32.The Civil Aviation Authority agreeing to all 21 safety

:01:33. > :01:40.recommendations put forward by the Air Accident Investigation Branch.

:01:41. > :01:44.These are perhaps things that should have happened some time ago and I

:01:45. > :01:47.think are common sense so that we can go forward, that we can still

:01:48. > :01:50.have a airshows in the future which really are as safe as possible, not

:01:51. > :01:54.just for the people up in the air but for the people on the ground

:01:55. > :01:57.The recommendations include that the CAA

:01:58. > :01:58.will conduct a review as to

:01:59. > :02:02.whether there should be a minimum differences between display aircraft

:02:03. > :02:06.That risk assessments for displays must

:02:07. > :02:08.include the manoeuvre to be performed by display pilots and that

:02:09. > :02:11.the CAA are not satisfied with the risk assessment, they may refuse

:02:12. > :02:15.permission for the event to go ahead.

:02:16. > :02:19.But the announcement is little comfort for those who await

:02:20. > :02:22.answers for the fundamental questions of what went wrong and who

:02:23. > :02:37.Why have we waited 17 months and we still have no answers?

:02:38. > :02:41.How difficult has it been not having those answers and having to wait?

:02:42. > :02:43.It is hard enough for us,

:02:44. > :02:48.They played for my football club, they became friends.

:02:49. > :02:52.I cannot imagine how it is for the families.

:02:53. > :02:54.It is just ridiculous that it has taken

:02:55. > :02:59.The crash happened back in August 2015, prompting a series of

:03:00. > :03:03.A police investigation into the pilot's

:03:04. > :03:07.actions, an inquest into the death of the 11 men killed and an air

:03:08. > :03:11.accident investigation enquiry into how it happened.

:03:12. > :03:19.To date, none of these have concluded.

:03:20. > :03:21.What everybody wants to know now is how did this happen and

:03:22. > :03:24.the final judgment will be in the final report.

:03:25. > :03:28.And it will then be for the CAA, the coroner and indeed

:03:29. > :03:32.all the legal departments in the country to the NSS what action needs

:03:33. > :03:45.For the families of the 11 men are commemorated here, the long wait for

:03:46. > :03:50.the truth goes on. Well, our reporter

:03:51. > :03:52.joins us in the studio. Juliette, what else have

:03:53. > :04:07.the families had to say today? We spoke earlier to the solicitor

:04:08. > :04:13.representing the families involved here and he told us that their focus

:04:14. > :04:17.was on a weighting that final report by the air accident's investigation

:04:18. > :04:23.Branch and on the pre-inquest review to take place in March. As for the

:04:24. > :04:27.future of the Shoreham Airshow is self, a spokesperson said earlier

:04:28. > :04:31.appropriate to do so, they will appropriate to do so, they will

:04:32. > :04:35.explore the possibility of a 2017 airshow. But in the meantime, they

:04:36. > :04:37.say they are fully operating with the ongoing investigation. Baggie.

:04:38. > :04:40.A derailed freight train has been causing major delays for commuters

:04:41. > :04:42.today AND train operator Southeastern is now warning

:04:43. > :04:44.passengers that the disruption will continue tomorrow.

:04:45. > :04:47.All trains from Tunbridge Wells and Sevenoaks to London Charing Cross

:04:48. > :04:49.and Cannon Street were cancelled completely after a train carrying

:04:50. > :04:56.sand derailed near Lewisham station at around 6am this morning.

:04:57. > :05:01.Plans by East Sussex County Council to cut funding to the Duke

:05:02. > :05:02.of Edinburgh's award scheme have been shelved.

:05:03. > :05:05.A petition was handed in to the council today

:05:06. > :05:07.as the cabinet was meeting to discuss the council Budget,

:05:08. > :05:17.where it was decided not to go ahead with axing the scheme.

:05:18. > :05:20.A woman left blinded in one eye after getting caught up in a fight

:05:21. > :05:23.on new years eve says she's been left angry, and unable to move

:05:24. > :05:26.on with her life until those who caused her injury are caught.

:05:27. > :05:29.Cora Mitchard was at a fireworks display in Deal when a fight broke

:05:30. > :05:33.out near her, and she was hit in the face with a beer can.

:05:34. > :05:36.Doctors say she has lost 85% of vision in her eye.

:05:37. > :05:40.She remembers New Year's Eve for the wrong reason.

:05:41. > :05:43.Celebrating outside a pub, someone threw a beer

:05:44. > :05:51.The impact fractured her eye socket and blinded

:05:52. > :06:00.It's awful, not being able to see anything but hearing

:06:01. > :06:04.everything going on, it's so different.

:06:05. > :06:07.So much pain for days after that, all the bruising came up

:06:08. > :06:18.The 24-year-old came to this pub on New Year's Eve to enjoy

:06:19. > :06:21.Her boyfriend went inside to buy some drinks.

:06:22. > :06:28.Cora was here just three minutes before the

:06:29. > :06:31.We were told there was a possibility she

:06:32. > :06:34.might lose the eye, so we were pleased

:06:35. > :06:36.when she was told she was

:06:37. > :06:39.not going to lose the eye, even if there is no sight there,

:06:40. > :06:45.After the incident, police interviewed a number

:06:46. > :06:49.Detectives say they want anyone who is there to come forward

:06:50. > :06:55.I make an appeal to the people involved in this to

:06:56. > :06:58.come forward and allow us to understand what has gone on so we

:06:59. > :07:02.can resolve this matter and give justice to the victim.

:07:03. > :07:05.Cora lives on a houseboat on the peninsula.

:07:06. > :07:07.Since being blinded in one eye, she has

:07:08. > :07:10.found it difficult to move around the boat.

:07:11. > :07:13.It is completely blurred at the moment, I have got nothing

:07:14. > :07:17.Coping really well with it, a lot better than I

:07:18. > :07:29.Still learning to get around and do everyday activities like normal,

:07:30. > :07:33.The 24-year-old will have more surgery on her eye

:07:34. > :07:35.Her vision will never be the same again.

:07:36. > :07:51.50 new schools will need to be built in Kent over the next

:07:52. > :07:53.five years to meet a population boom that requires an additional

:07:54. > :07:58.Kent County Council say some 47 new schools are needed

:07:59. > :08:01.across the county and the leaders at the council

:08:02. > :08:05.But there is a warning that the authority may not meet

:08:06. > :08:10.demand if planned free schools are not opened on time.

:08:11. > :08:14.The local authority has the statue duty to make provision of those

:08:15. > :08:17.places, yet a Whitehall department is predominantly responsible for

:08:18. > :08:20.delivering those new school places so we don't have the control that we

:08:21. > :08:23.have had in the past and we have delivered

:08:24. > :08:27.right number of school places in the right

:08:28. > :08:30.place at the right time, we

:08:31. > :08:33.question whether the education funding enters the Whitehall

:08:34. > :08:36.department with a structured record is capable of delivering at the

:08:37. > :08:41.right time in the right place and at the same cost.

:08:48. > :09:07.Bred the council says over the past few years it is created a new 10,000

:09:08. > :09:11.places, but if it's going to create another 23000 by 2022, new schools

:09:12. > :09:16.will be needed, because there has been a big baby boom in the area and

:09:17. > :09:20.on top of this, London councils are increasingly sending families down

:09:21. > :09:23.to live here. That has been an influx of families from eastern

:09:24. > :09:27.Europe and there is a huge house-building programme in the

:09:28. > :09:31.coming years. The council says if new schools are not built Benny

:09:32. > :09:36.Mayotte educate children in mobile classrooms. We're the Department for
