:00:14. > :00:16.A former worker at South East Coast Ambulance Service has told

:00:17. > :00:19.this programme she was so badly bullied there for two years,

:00:20. > :00:25.it made her ill, and she had to leave the job she loved.

:00:26. > :00:27.Ambulance technician Jane Thomas says the bullying was widespread

:00:28. > :00:32.The trust has been under intense pressure this week after a leaked

:00:33. > :00:33.report revealed historic allegations of "horrific, cowardly

:00:34. > :00:36.and devastating" acts of bullying against staff at their call

:00:37. > :00:40.The trust has told us that they are working hard

:00:41. > :00:54.Jane Thomas was a technician with the SECAMB for 14 years.

:00:55. > :00:56.She left two years ago after suffering what she describes

:00:57. > :01:02.as repeated bullying from a colleague.

:01:03. > :01:09.I was expecting a baby in September, I miscarried in Christmas Day.

:01:10. > :01:12.And he made a comment about my weight in the duty room

:01:13. > :01:15.in front of several other colleagues when I was passing through.

:01:16. > :01:30.Jane Thomas joined what was Kent ambulance in the year 2000.

:01:31. > :01:35.Based in Thanet, that changed in 2012, when she questioned

:01:36. > :01:44.When you haven't got the support, who do you turn to?

:01:45. > :01:47.You have your line manager, that you think, you hope,

:01:48. > :01:50.you can trust and they perhaps don't want to know so you go

:01:51. > :01:57.the next stage further and they are not interested.

:01:58. > :02:00.Revelations about bullying at SECAMB have centred around historical

:02:01. > :02:05.allegations at the emergency call centre at Coxheath.

:02:06. > :02:10.A confidential report was leaked this week,

:02:11. > :02:12.describing a culture of favouritism and nepotism with staff receiving

:02:13. > :02:14.abusive and anonymous phone calls and female staff

:02:15. > :02:33.I am very angry, if these allegations do come through then

:02:34. > :02:57.In July 2014, I said to myself I have got to go.

:02:58. > :03:05.And I had to give up a job that I loved doing very much.

:03:06. > :03:13.And it still affects me, to this day.

:03:14. > :03:17.A dispute over a one pound parking ticket led to a 14-month battle

:03:18. > :03:21.with East Sussex County Council that saw bailiffs attempt

:03:22. > :03:26.Charity volunteer Paula Woolvens bought a ticket to park

:03:27. > :03:27.in Seaford in 2015 but the wind blew it

:03:28. > :03:33.After months of dispute, an independent parking tribunal has

:03:34. > :03:36.The council says it's seeking clarification

:03:37. > :03:48.Our news correspondent Yvette Austin reports.

:03:49. > :03:57.A ?1 for two hours ticket which led to a legal battle. She regularly

:03:58. > :03:59.pays and displays in this car park but the problems began on a windy

:04:00. > :04:10.winters day in 2015. And I was helping with

:04:11. > :04:11.the school pantomime. It was windy, December 2015,

:04:12. > :04:14.very cold, the children had arrived early with their teachers

:04:15. > :04:17.and I was rushing to get I bought a ticket as I always do,

:04:18. > :04:22.put it in my car, and the wind must have flipped it over

:04:23. > :04:24.as I closed the door. And the ?50 penalty

:04:25. > :04:27.charge was issued. She told East Sussex County

:04:28. > :04:30.Council what had happened It has photo evidence

:04:31. > :04:41.that the ticket had flipped over More appeals and the County

:04:42. > :04:44.Court hearing followed. And then bailiffs

:04:45. > :04:47.to take away her car. A tow truck and a bailiff turned up

:04:48. > :04:51.with a lady threatening to drag away my ?11,000 car for a ?1 parking

:04:52. > :04:55.ticket that I had bought. It got beyond ridiculous,

:04:56. > :05:05.six appeals, bailiffs, and all for a ?1 ticket that

:05:06. > :05:09.I had bought. Eventually a government independent

:05:10. > :05:14.tribunal sided with and the ?400 that she had to pay the bailiffs has

:05:15. > :05:20.now been refunded. The fact that then pursued it

:05:21. > :05:24.relentlessly, it seems me that someone has really had quite

:05:25. > :05:31.a vicious streak in them and instead of exercising their discretion that

:05:32. > :05:33.common sense would suggest, has pursued this relentlessly

:05:34. > :05:38.and at the expense of taxpayers. East Sussex County Council says it

:05:39. > :05:45.issued a penalty charge notice because it had happened to Paula

:05:46. > :05:48.before, back in March 2015, The matter is now closed for Paula

:05:49. > :05:52.but the council is seeking clarification from the tribunal

:05:53. > :05:59.over its decision. A lorry driver accused of bringing

:06:00. > :06:02.down a bridge on the M20 in Kent by driving dangerously has

:06:03. > :06:05.appeared in court. Alan Austen from Darlington is also

:06:06. > :06:11.charged with criminal damage. The lorry hit the footbridge

:06:12. > :06:13.crossing over the motorway last August, bringing it down

:06:14. > :06:16.onto another HGV - and narrowly New problems have emerged

:06:17. > :06:20.with the systems that compensate passengers for delays on Southern

:06:21. > :06:23.Rail. The company told people affected

:06:24. > :06:26.by the chaos of months of industrial action

:06:27. > :06:28.that they would be in touch in the New Year but thousands

:06:29. > :06:31.haven't heard a word, and today the Southern admitted

:06:32. > :06:33.technical problems mean the scheme Let's get the picture in

:06:34. > :06:53.the south-east with Rachel Mackley. Good evening. A gorgeous bright

:06:54. > :06:59.afternoon, temperatures were reaching highs of 13 degrees. Mild

:07:00. > :07:05.over the weekend as well, mostly dry, potentially some light rain

:07:06. > :07:09.first thing. Overnight tonight, dry and mild, mist and fog first thing

:07:10. > :07:14.for Saturday, an area of high pressure once again brightening up

:07:15. > :07:18.by the end of the afternoon. A gentle south-westerly and

:07:19. > :07:23.temperatures comfortably in double figures and highs of ten or 11. From

:07:24. > :07:29.Saturday to Sunday, a weakening weather front, more cloud and

:07:30. > :07:32.potentially drizzle first thing. Mostly dry during the day on Sunday

:07:33. > :07:37.and highs of 12 or 13 part of next week, we could see 16

:07:38. > :07:39.Celsius in a few spots. Here is knit with the National output.
