:02:29. > :02:32.I knew he was going to a party so I was not worried but then the

:02:33. > :02:34.next day we started to pick up more messages

:02:35. > :02:36.and we had a phone call from the Foreign Ministry

:02:37. > :02:38.saying his possessions were still in the hotel.

:02:39. > :02:49.Then we started to act on that immediately.

:02:50. > :02:53.Andy's body was found last Wednesday morning, floating in the sea

:02:54. > :03:01.Foreign Office officials are supporting the family

:03:02. > :03:08.The family are now considering flying out to Thailand,

:03:09. > :03:11.frustrated that so little has been said to them almost a week

:03:12. > :03:17.Our reporter Lauren Moss is here with me now.

:03:18. > :03:21.We heard there in Pier's report that the family are calling for more

:03:22. > :03:37.The authorities are conducting their own investigation into the death. As

:03:38. > :03:43.part of that, his body has been taken to the Thai mainland where a

:03:44. > :03:53.postmortem will be carried out. Those results are likely to

:03:54. > :03:56.influence any investigation. A investigation is set to be arranged.

:03:57. > :03:59.The company which runs Southern Rail has warned profits could be hit

:04:40. > :04:42.A Sussex motorist whose ?40,000 Jaguar car was stolen

:04:43. > :04:46.from his driveway has branded police "unbelievable",

:04:47. > :04:49.after he claims he was told to investigate the crime himself.

:04:50. > :04:52.Kevin Standing's car vanished from outside his home in Patcham

:04:53. > :04:58.He claims Sussex Police told him "swathes" of crimes are not

:04:59. > :05:00.being investigated - in order to save money to cope

:05:01. > :05:06.Our News Correspondent Mark Norman reports.

:05:07. > :05:09.As luxury cars go, the Jaguar XF is right up there.

:05:10. > :05:17.And you actually look out the window in the morning and

:05:18. > :05:19.you can't believe what you are seeing.

:05:20. > :05:22.And there ought to be a Jaguar sitting here

:05:23. > :05:26.So you phoned the police, you expected them to come

:05:27. > :05:30.I assumed that you would report it and at some point the patrol would

:05:31. > :05:33.turn up and take details and have a look where it was.

:05:34. > :05:36.But they didn't turn up so Kevin called them yesterday

:05:37. > :05:39.morning and found out they weren't going to investigate because there

:05:40. > :05:45.It made me wonder why I paid my Council Tax.

:05:46. > :05:48.A lot of that goes towards the police.

:05:49. > :05:50.When you need them they are not there.

:05:51. > :05:53.And then the third body blow, as it were, you

:05:54. > :05:55.get this letter in the post today?

:05:56. > :05:57.this arrived in the post this morning.

:05:58. > :06:04.This will be the last contact you will have from Sussex

:06:05. > :06:07.This crime is now classified as closed.

:06:08. > :06:11.It basically says to the car thieves in Sussex, please carry on stealing

:06:12. > :06:16.cars because there's very little chance you're going to get caught.

:06:17. > :06:20.Sussex Police told Kevin that they would keep the number

:06:21. > :06:22.plates on their computer system and they told

:06:23. > :06:29.They told us that they focus their efforts on the crimes which cause

:06:30. > :06:32.It would seem to imply that if you haven't got any

:06:33. > :06:34.obvious leads you're not going to follow it up.

:06:35. > :06:37.I don't think we should be afraid of saying that.

:06:38. > :06:39.If there are there not any lines of enquiry

:06:40. > :06:42.I think it is proportionate and it is beholden on us that we

:06:43. > :06:46.serve all of the public by making sure we investigate whether there

:06:47. > :06:49.are risks, where there are victims and that the enquiry

:06:50. > :06:52.is proportionate and effective as a result.

:06:53. > :06:56.So, no tracker in the car, no CCTV, no investigation.

:06:57. > :07:07.Kevin's insurance company are now dealing with this claim.

:07:08. > :07:09.Football and the top two in the Championship have gone

:07:10. > :07:12.head-to-head at the Amex tonight, with Brighton hoping to take another

:07:13. > :07:15.big step towards promotion to the Premier League.

:07:16. > :07:20.It started well - Brighton took the lead after 14 minutes

:07:21. > :07:24.Glenn Murray was pulled to the ground

:07:25. > :07:26.but got up to fire in his 17th goal of the season.

:07:27. > :07:28.But in the second half Newcastle drew level

:07:29. > :07:31.with a big slice of luck - Diame deflecting the ball

:07:32. > :07:38.And then with two minutes of normal time left,

:07:39. > :07:42.Perez was left unmarked in the box to score the winner for Newcastle.

:07:43. > :07:44.Our reporter John Young was at the game and joins us now

:07:45. > :07:55.Not what most of the crowd there would have wanted.

:07:56. > :08:04.I think that was heard to say, that was not in the script. The huge

:08:05. > :08:08.match, huge atmosphere and disappointing result. Things were

:08:09. > :08:12.going according to plan but then came to a shuddering halt ten

:08:13. > :08:20.minutes from the end. Let's have another look at that goal. Call it

:08:21. > :08:24.bad luck, the comedy of errors, bad goalkeeping, call it what you like.

:08:25. > :08:31.It is not what the Brighton fans wanted to see. Many left before the

:08:32. > :08:38.match was finished. Some were philosophical and some less so. Here

:08:39. > :08:48.were the broadcaster Bob Betts. -- broadcasting bits.

:08:49. > :08:53.The bus and defended well. Good first half. Quite flat in the second

:08:54. > :08:57.half. Not really good. I'm sure some of the other views

:08:58. > :09:02.were more robust but it is not all doom and gloom as there are another

:09:03. > :09:06.12 games to go. Yes, let's put this into

:09:07. > :09:11.perspective. If you look at the fixture list, that is giving each

:09:12. > :09:17.year. Newcastle have the tough fixture list ahead of them and their

:09:18. > :09:25.Seagulls have more straightforward matches to come. No panic.

:09:26. > :09:29.Meanwhile, it was a bad night for all of our other league teams.

:09:30. > :09:31.Charlton Ahtletic lost 4-3 away at Shrewsbury and Gillingham went

:09:32. > :09:36.While in League Two Crawley suffered a 2-1 defeat at home to Exeter.

:09:37. > :09:47.That's it from me but before we go let's get a check on the South East

:09:48. > :09:55.Quite changeable over the next couple of days. There was some

:09:56. > :10:00.brightness earlier. We started Seymour cloud around and all of us

:10:01. > :10:07.were seeing some rain for a time in the afternoon. We start tomorrow dry

:10:08. > :10:14.with rain by the afternoon and have this chilly westerly wind. Tonight,

:10:15. > :10:18.more rain for a time. That he sees its way eastwards and behind it

:10:19. > :10:22.temperatures are hovering above freezing thanks to the winds only

:10:23. > :10:37.dropping the rain will potentially be heavy

:10:38. > :10:44.at times in the afternoon. It is going to be feeling cooler with the

:10:45. > :10:53.wind and the rain. On Thursday we will lose that rain. It is breezy

:10:54. > :11:09.and mild. Here is the outlook Good evening. We are about to head

:11:10. > :11:13.into March, the days are getting longer, but are they getting any

:11:14. > :11:17.warmer? Not really. We will get there in the end, but we will have

:11:18. > :11:21.to be patient, not very springlike at the moment. Some showers

:11:22. > :11:25.scattered around across England and Wales will tend to diminish in

:11:26. > :11:30.number, a few left behind, wintry showers across the north of

:11:31. > :11:35.Scotland, snow at low-level is, ice as well as temperatures fall close

:11:36. > :11:41.to freezing. A cold night with a touch of frost in a number of

:11:42. > :11:44.places. Plenty of sunshine across southern areas first of all, but it

:11:45. > :11:48.will not last, rain spilling from the south, the best brightness and

:11:49. > :11:52.eventually further north across the UK. Mostly fine afternoon to come

:11:53. > :11:53.across northern areas,
