:03:25. > :03:28.clear. They say this isn't a finger-pointing exercise, instead
:03:29. > :03:32.what the report aims to do is to find out what caused the crash and
:03:33. > :03:38.make safety recommendations for the future. Looking behind me, you can
:03:39. > :03:43.get an idea of what this means to the families of the victims and the
:03:44. > :03:49.community in a sure hand. To doubt they have had a full meeting with

:04:11. > :04:12.to its chief executive. He says it could be forced out
:04:13. > :04:15.of its base at Redhill Aerodrome when the site is redeveloped
:04:16. > :04:23.to build 4,500 new homes. The service currently
:04:24. > :04:29.flies two helicopters - which can travel at speeds of up
:04:30. > :04:32.to 150 miles an hour. That means they can reach
:04:33. > :04:35.any part of Kent, Surrey or Sussex Last year the service cost just
:04:36. > :04:39.over nine million pounds to run - the vast majority of that
:04:40. > :04:41.comes from charitable donations. Our Health Correspondent Mark Norman
:04:42. > :04:43.has this exclusive report This is the positive future
:04:44. > :04:46.of the Air Ambulance Service A brand-new bigger, faster
:04:47. > :04:49.helicopter that will save lives once it comes into service
:04:50. > :05:06.in a few weeks' time. The Air Ambulance Service
:05:07. > :05:09.has had plans to convert this hangar in Redhill
:05:10. > :05:15.into its main operating base. But what about those plans
:05:16. > :05:18.to build homes here? over our future,
:05:19. > :05:22.is not a nice place to be. Somebody's got to look
:05:23. > :05:24.at the strategic picture and say, are we going to deprive the region
:05:25. > :05:28.of a very, very much-needed asset? If planners remove that capability
:05:29. > :05:34.from us, people well so far. Adrian Bell has been speaking
:05:35. > :05:36.to local councillors and developers, they are very aware of the possible
:05:37. > :05:39.consequences of any decision. It is a huge local decision-making
:05:40. > :05:43.process, but the air ambulance Does that impact
:05:44. > :05:49.on your thought process? It will do, because it is a material
:05:50. > :05:52.consideration the planners What we are looking
:05:53. > :05:57.for is an improved mix of housing, because house prices
:05:58. > :06:05.are 14 times average earnings. Last year, this person's life
:06:06. > :06:09.was saved by the Ambulance Service. Here's an example of why
:06:10. > :06:12.they have invested 7 million euros in this new helicopter,
:06:13. > :06:16.and they want more of them to improve the capability
:06:17. > :06:18.and availability of their service. And they want a main
:06:19. > :06:24.operating base to do that. Our reporter Lauren Moss

:06:31. > :06:42.mean that realistically Complete closure is unlikely, the
:06:43. > :06:47.air ambulance has its base and there are flights out of Rochester and
