:00:52. > :00:55.If they had just looked at the notes and treated her as a human being,
:00:56. > :00:57.my sister would still be here. That is extremely hard.
:00:58. > :01:01.When you heard that in court, you could not cope and had to leave.

:01:24. > :01:25.seen a nurse's notes, saying Sian was having
:01:26. > :01:26.difficulty breathing and was experiencing chest pains,
:01:27. > :01:29.which led to a wrong diagnosis. Today, those records were found and,
:01:30. > :01:33.on the reverse side, were the handwritten notes by Dr
:01:34. > :01:40.Kamran Khan, one of the medics who had treated Sian.
:01:41. > :02:15.It led to a dramatic courtroom exchange...
:02:16. > :02:17.In court, the hospital trust expressed their deepest
:02:18. > :02:22.Her mother said these were empty words.
:02:23. > :02:25.If they had turned that page or looked at that page,

:02:33. > :02:34.The inquest has now been adjourned until April 10,

:04:03. > :04:03.in intensive care. As Piers Hopkirk reports,
:04:04. > :04:06.they say it has left them physically and mentally scarred,
:04:07. > :04:08.feeling their lives have been destroyed.

:04:25. > :04:27.It left seasoned detectives shocked by the level of violence used
:04:28. > :04:30.in the committing of this offence. 26 April, 2016 is a day
:04:31. > :04:33.that our victims live with daily. They were sat at their home address,
:04:34. > :04:35.enjoying their evening together, when these persons forced their way
:04:36. > :04:39.into the address and used what can only be described as a barbaric
:04:40. > :04:41.level of violence against them. They were bound, beaten and had
:04:42. > :04:43.boiling water poured over their heads and bodies,
:04:44. > :04:45.while trying to steal money from these poor people.
:04:46. > :04:47.It happened at the couple's home in Halstead.
:04:48. > :04:49.It was a crime of such unprovoked violence,
:04:50. > :04:51.it stunned people in this quiet village community.
:04:52. > :04:54.I think we were all horrified when we heard about it,
:04:55. > :04:56.because in a way, it could have happened to anyone.
:04:57. > :04:59.Why it happened to them, I don't know, but you fear
:05:00. > :05:10.for those people who live in fairly isolated places.
:05:11. > :05:13.I do know the family. Yeah, it's pretty terrible what they
:05:14. > :05:17.did, especially to his wife. I'd throw away the key.
:05:18. > :05:22.So, they should get punished badly, yeah.
:05:23. > :05:25.The court heard that Adams and Wallace had tortured the couple
:05:26. > :05:29.After a prolonged period of threats and violence, they got them,
:05:30. > :05:31.leaving their home with more than ?40,000 in cash.
:05:32. > :05:34.Mrs Buswell's injuries were so severe, she later fell into a coma.
:05:35. > :05:56.In a victim impact statement read to the court, she said:
:05:57. > :06:12.The two guilty men will be sentenced here at 2pm on Monday.
