:00:34. > :00:38.They've been there since half past nine this evening

:00:39. > :00:42.GPs in Crawley are calling for a pioneering scheme -

:00:43. > :00:45.which aims to reduce loneliness - to continue when its current

:00:46. > :00:48.The scheme allows doctors to prescribe social activities

:00:49. > :00:59.Struggling to care for her husband who has dementia, and had become

:01:00. > :01:03.completely housebound. Joining a completely housebound. Joining a

:01:04. > :01:07.local Bowls club has set her on the way to recovery thanks to a

:01:08. > :01:11.prescription from her GP. I was crying for a whole month and I could

:01:12. > :01:16.not leave my front door. I needed people speaking with me and helping

:01:17. > :01:25.me through a very dark time in my life. And the project helped me get

:01:26. > :01:29.back. It is estimated one in five patients who visit their GPs do not

:01:30. > :01:32.primarily have a medical problem. Many of them just need someone to

:01:33. > :01:36.talk to. Under the social prescribing scheme doctors can refer

:01:37. > :01:42.these patients to voluntary groups who match them with groups in their

:01:43. > :01:46.local community. It will save the lives of the lot of people that we

:01:47. > :01:49.work with. It a world of different the patient and the doctor is

:01:50. > :01:56.freeing up for permits to see others and you are saving money. Medicine

:01:57. > :02:02.and wellness is more than tablets, we have two connect the will of the

:02:03. > :02:06.government into action and funding. The ?76,000 funding from the council

:02:07. > :02:10.ends in June but the towns Conservative MP is hopeful it can

:02:11. > :02:15.become permanent. Crawley was designated as a dementia friendly

:02:16. > :02:19.town, that was not just a label but something that has again meant that

:02:20. > :02:22.Crawley is in the lead in this issue and I think that we can lead in

:02:23. > :02:28.terms of tackling loneliness as well. The council says this decision

:02:29. > :02:32.about whether it keeps funding the scheme depends on evidence that it

:02:33. > :02:33.really is easing pressure on health and social care, a challenge facing

:02:34. > :02:37.all local authorities. A toddler from Tunbridge Wells has

:02:38. > :02:40.died - barely two weeks after a quarter of a million pounds

:02:41. > :02:43.was raised to fly her to America for what her parents hoped

:02:44. > :02:45.would be 'life-saving surgery'. Two year old Florence Jackson,

:02:46. > :02:48.had a rare cancerous tumour. Her family say she's left a huge

:02:49. > :02:51.hole in their hearts that Dramatic footage of a car on fire

:02:52. > :02:54.has been filmed outside a fast food restaurant

:02:55. > :02:57.in Chestfield near Whitstable. The two minute video

:02:58. > :02:59.which contains flashing images It shows flames leaping

:03:00. > :03:02.from the car's engine Although the car was badly

:03:03. > :03:16.damaged nobody was hurt. Hundreds of people gathered

:03:17. > :03:18.in Ramsgate this morning to mark the 75th anniversary of the Channel

:03:19. > :03:20.Dash. A ceremony and flypast were held

:03:21. > :03:22.at the harbour to commemorate the day eighteen pilots took off

:03:23. > :03:25.from Manston to attack the largest Only five of the men survived

:03:26. > :03:29.the attack in 1942 - the rest were shot down

:03:30. > :03:34.by the Germans. Weather now - let's see how it's

:03:35. > :03:37.looking for the week ahead. Here's Georgina Burnett

:03:38. > :03:41.with the details. Good evening. After snow at the

:03:42. > :03:45.weekend it is going to be feeling very different by the end of the

:03:46. > :03:49.week with milder weather on the way. It does look like we see in the back

:03:50. > :03:53.of any outbreaks for the evening survey largely dry night tonight,

:03:54. > :03:58.cloud about and clearer skies coming through later on in the night but it

:03:59. > :04:03.is unlikely that we will see a frost because of the wind, a largely dry

:04:04. > :04:07.and breezy night to night, and tomorrow the easterly wind continues

:04:08. > :04:12.and it will be quite biting at times, pretty gusty as well, at 40

:04:13. > :04:16.miles an hour across the coast in particular. It's taken the edge of

:04:17. > :04:20.temperatures which have improved after the weekends, high survey to 9

:04:21. > :04:24.degrees, but really not feeling that way because of the wind, there's a

:04:25. > :04:30.good deal of sunshine and dry weather on for tomorrow at least.

:04:31. > :04:35.Still fairly breezy on Tuesday and Wednesday, Tuesday has bright and

:04:36. > :04:38.sunny spells about, a bright and breezy day on Wednesday, and a bit

:04:39. > :04:42.more cloud and a few showers coming through but we start to see double

:04:43. > :04:47.figures and by the end of the week, dry and mild weather on the way, so

:04:48. > :04:48.it's all change, especially after the weekend's events.

:04:49. > :04:51.That's the news and weather in the South East this Sunday.

:04:52. > :04:53.We will be back during Breakfast tomorrow from 6 o'clock.

:04:54. > :05:10.For now, from all of us on the team, thank for watching.

:05:11. > :05:16.I'm sure most of us are glad to see the back of this weekend. It's been

:05:17. > :05:20.cold, bleak and at times wintry. It provided some beautiful weather

:05:21. > :05:24.Watchers photos, like Sheffield earlier today. I suspect some of the

:05:25. > :05:29.lying snow will be blown around by strong winds starting to develop.

:05:30. > :05:37.The odd spot of drizzle into the far north-east. The wind strengthening

:05:38. > :05:40.here. Already signs of something a little bit miles, temperatures

:05:41. > :05:45.climbing up. However it's not going to feel that warm straightaway.

:05:46. > :05:50.Because of the strength of the wind. The wind however will break up the

:05:51. > :06:02.cloud, so some sunshine into central and Southern areas. The cloud is

:06:03. > :06:03.thickening all the time. The odd bit of drizzle. Some sunny spells
