:00:51. > :00:57.occurs. Those responsible did not stop to offer help. At the church in

:00:58. > :01:00.Newton, parishioners gathered around a memorial to remember the South

:01:01. > :01:04.African servicemen who were en route to France. Guests hear from their

:01:05. > :01:10.homeland so what happened should not be forgotten. A lot of our young

:01:11. > :01:16.people over so many years in the past were not taught what the

:01:17. > :01:21.history was all about. Where we come from, what happens with these kind

:01:22. > :01:29.of events, worldwide. We now are going to push that this history is

:01:30. > :01:35.known. The Wye a memorial in this small Sussex village? Lord Buxton,

:01:36. > :01:40.who lived here, with governors of South Africa at the time the

:01:41. > :01:44.disaster struck. We are quite a small but active church, and it is

:01:45. > :01:52.just such a privilege to have that link and feel connected to them, to

:01:53. > :01:55.those families in South Africa. We are all fans of South Africa, it's

:01:56. > :01:57.believed the men were told as the ship went down. 100 years on, they

:01:58. > :02:03.will never be forgotten. A candlelit vigil is being held

:02:04. > :02:06.later in memory of a Kent toddler Two year old Florence Jackson

:02:07. > :02:10.from Speldhurst had neuroblastoma and had been at the centre of huge

:02:11. > :02:12.fundraising efforts to fly her to the United States for treatment -

:02:13. > :02:15.but she died last weekend. The vigil will be held

:02:16. > :02:19.at the village pub. Building work will get underway

:02:20. > :02:22.next month in the next stage of the development

:02:23. > :02:23.of Folkestone's seafront. Dredging and sea defence work

:02:24. > :02:26.is planned to help the construction of up to a thousand new homes

:02:27. > :02:29.and renovation of the old railway station the 35 acre development

:02:30. > :02:38.is expected to generate 500 jobs. A Kent football club where two

:02:39. > :02:41.players have died suddenly of undetected heart problems -

:02:42. > :02:43.has raised over thirty thousand pounds to screen its players

:02:44. > :02:48.for potential heart defects. Nearly 900 people including players

:02:49. > :02:50.and supporters have so far been screened thanks to the fundraising

:02:51. > :02:54.campaign by Tonbridge Angels. It follows the deaths
