:01:02. > :01:05.But campaigners say there are more pressing issues,

:01:06. > :01:07.such as the possibility of the temporary closure

:01:08. > :01:09.of the urgent care centre in Canterbury because the hospital

:01:10. > :01:18.is struggling to recruit enough consultants.

:01:19. > :01:26.If we lose the urgent care centre because of doctors,

:01:27. > :01:29.and the patients are moved, and although that is temporary,

:01:30. > :01:31.in nine months' time, if it doesn't come back we'll never

:01:32. > :01:34.get them back and that will see the end of our hospital.

:01:35. > :01:37.Things are serious, and quite rightly the trust is monitoring very

:01:38. > :01:39.carefully the current staffing situation and as they have

:01:40. > :01:41.set out this morning, they have been talking to staff

:01:42. > :01:46.East Kent hospital is in the same boat as every other NHS Trust

:01:47. > :01:48.in the country in trying to make efficiency savings.

:01:49. > :01:50.Campaigner fear at one of the trust's three

:01:51. > :01:53.hospitals will close, but bosses disagree and say

:01:54. > :01:57.the current NHS system is outdated and instead there are better ways

:01:58. > :02:04.Proposals for a full public consultation could be

:02:05. > :02:09.A pensioner who repeatedly stabbed a member of staff at a care

:02:10. > :02:11.home has pleaded guilty to her attempted murder.
