:00:53. > :00:56.Despite a number of public `ppeals, the baby's mother

:00:57. > :00:59.The coroner concluded she was stillborn when she was

:01:00. > :01:04.Police have named the girl Raihana, and invited the public to attend

:01:05. > :01:14.They didn't know her or her mother, but people came from far and wide

:01:15. > :01:16.to share their compassion for a baby born sleeping and abandoned

:01:17. > :01:23.Even though we don't know who this little girl is,

:01:24. > :01:29.She is one of our own, one of our community,

:01:30. > :01:33.and we stand here today as lembers of the community and we card

:01:34. > :01:40.that she has a dignified and loving funeral.

:01:41. > :01:44.Despite repeated appeals for her mother to come forw`rd,

:01:45. > :01:46.police have not been able to trace her,

:01:47. > :01:50.so they named her child Raihana meaning "Heaven's flower".

:01:51. > :01:54.Over the last two weeks we've been inundated with messages

:01:55. > :01:56.of support and sympathy, but above all of love

:01:57. > :02:05.I feel really sorry for the baby and the mother as well.

:02:06. > :02:15.I'd like to show our love and respect.

:02:16. > :02:18.To have nobody there when she is buried is just too much.

:02:19. > :02:21.Somebody has to be here to show our love and respect.

:02:22. > :02:24.Among the mourners, Suzi Horsley from Headington.

:02:25. > :02:27.She suffered four miscarriages and wants Raihana's mother

:02:28. > :02:32.I would hope that she knows that the public does not

:02:33. > :02:35.condemn her in any way because what she's been

:02:36. > :02:38.through is horrifying, she lust have been terribly, terriblx

:02:39. > :02:41.frightened, and I hope that somewhere somebody knows

:02:42. > :02:46.It was in February that a b`by's body was found by a member

:02:47. > :02:50.of the public, wrapped in a black bag, close to a footpath in Marston.

:02:51. > :02:53.Unharmed and still with her umbilical cord attached,

:02:54. > :02:59.a coroner later ruled she'd been stillborn.

:03:00. > :03:03.More than ?2000 has so far been raised in Raihana's memory

:03:04. > :03:05.for Oxfordshire Sands, a charity supporting

:03:06. > :03:11.It's very taboo and although awareness is being raised and people

:03:12. > :03:14.are starting to break the shlence, it is incredibly isolating,

:03:15. > :03:20.and it is so important for people to know there is support out there.

:03:21. > :03:24.Detective Inspector Jim Holles said Raihana had touched the hearts

:03:25. > :03:27.and minds of not just this community, but

:03:28. > :03:29.across the entire country and he made her a promise

:03:30. > :03:42.A doctor from Oxford, who gave evidence for the ddfence

:03:43. > :03:45.in several shaken baby cases, is appealing against

:03:46. > :03:50.Dr Waney Squier worked as a consultant neuro-pathologist

:03:51. > :03:53.at the John Radcliffe Hospital in Oxford.

:03:54. > :03:56.Her lawyers told the High Court she'd not been dishonest

:03:57. > :04:03.The 67-year-old insists she disputes the mainstream view.

:04:04. > :04:06.Nine men have been arrested in early morning raids in Oxford

:04:07. > :04:08.on suspicion of historical child sex abuse offences.

:04:09. > :04:13.It's claimed the offences are linked to two teenage girls in Oxford

:04:14. > :04:18.They're appealing for what they think could be a key

:04:55. > :05:02.This morning, officers arrested nine men from 11 properties in the city.

:05:07. > :05:15.Detectives also launched a witness appeal today, linked to one

:05:16. > :05:22.She was kidnapped by a group of Asian men in 2004

:05:23. > :05:29.At the time, she was 16 years old, but was not sexually

:05:30. > :05:35.She was told that she was going to be sexually

:05:36. > :05:39.assaulted and she was driven to Cuttesloe Park.

:05:40. > :05:42.Having been let out of the vehicle, she managed to escape from the men

:05:43. > :05:50.Eventually, convinced that they had gone, she started to walk

:05:51. > :05:56.The police are now trying to trace a passing motorist

:05:57. > :06:03.The lady was between 40 and 50, at that time, that was 12 ydars ago.

:06:04. > :06:07.Curly red or brown hair and she could have been

:06:08. > :06:13.The force says it remains committed to supporting survivors

:06:14. > :06:19.I'm aware that people may hdar this and it may remind them of something

:06:20. > :06:22.that's happened to them which they may find upsetting.

:06:57. > :07:01.the children head off to nursery in Milton Keynes, but there is

:07:02. > :07:06.Caroline's mother Virginia succumbed to a brain tumour at the agd of 56.

:07:07. > :07:08.A much loved mother of four, she died before her

:07:09. > :07:15.She was a trained archivist but she gave that up

:07:16. > :07:17.to have four daughters, she always wanted four daughters.

:07:18. > :07:20.That's the saddest thing for me and my sisters.

:07:21. > :07:23.We all have children now, and she never met any of thdm.

:07:24. > :07:26.We can't ask her for her advice and we can't ask her to babxsit

:07:27. > :07:29.the children, or any of those things.

:07:30. > :07:32.We know that all the grandchildren are missing out so much

:07:33. > :07:37.Just 1% of national cancer research funding is spent on brain ttmour

:07:38. > :07:41.research, a number this Buckinghamshire charity

:07:42. > :07:45.This pernicious disease is the biggest cancer killer

:07:46. > :07:49.of children and adults under the age of 40.

:07:50. > :07:55.In fact, it's been acknowledged in a funding report

:07:56. > :07:58.by the Petitions Committee that successive governments

:07:59. > :08:03.And the work to drive up survival rates takes place in this

:08:04. > :08:07.Here, tumours are put in cell cultures and new drugs are tested

:08:08. > :08:10.on them to see whether the cells live or die.

:08:11. > :08:11.But the research is cripplingly expensive.

:08:12. > :08:14.With more funding we could lake quicker progress trying to find

:08:15. > :08:16.new therapies and bio markers and drive them into

:08:17. > :08:18.clinical trials for better treatment and diagnostics.

:08:19. > :08:21.Caroline's mother died almost a decade ago.

:08:22. > :08:25.In that time, treatments have barely changed.

:08:26. > :08:28.More money could mean more survivors and more families spending time
