:00:11. > :00:12.Plans that will see the biggest changes

:00:13. > :00:14.to the NHS in our region in decades are officially published.

:00:15. > :00:18.a plea not to pour Christmas leftovers down the drain.

:00:19. > :00:20.And the outdoor advent calendar inspiring people to explore Stowe's

:00:21. > :00:35.a report into the future shape of health services across the area

:00:36. > :00:40.The draft report sets out areas that could see

:00:41. > :00:43.changes at hospitals and in the way care

:00:44. > :00:48.There have been regular protests against the possible downgrading

:00:49. > :00:51.of the Horton Hospital in Banbury and there are fears that some

:00:52. > :00:55.Earlier I asked out political reporter Bethan Phillips how much

:00:56. > :00:59.more information has now come to light.

:01:00. > :01:03.Well, this is the 112 page document, but somehow, it's still quite short

:01:04. > :01:06.If you're hoping to find out what's going to happen to your

:01:07. > :01:11.local hospital or GP service, you might well be disappointed.

:01:12. > :01:13.In fact, local health bosses have admitted

:01:14. > :01:17.there is still no date for when those details will be released.

:01:18. > :01:20.We're being told options are still being worked on.

:01:21. > :01:23.But today's draft does confirm that changes are being considered

:01:24. > :01:28.Including two emergency care, maternity

:01:29. > :01:40.Well, the fact is, there is a big funding gap in our health services.

:01:41. > :01:42.This plan covers west Berkshire, Buckinghamshire and Oxfordshire.

:01:43. > :01:45.It is expected there will be a funding gap of ?480

:01:46. > :01:47.million by 2021, that's around a fifth of what is being currently

:01:48. > :01:51.spent on health services and because details haven't been

:01:52. > :01:54.released of what's going to happen, it's led to a lot of speculation.

:01:55. > :01:59.Campaigners for the Horton feared the hospital

:02:00. > :02:02.could lose its A E service along with other services as well.

:02:03. > :02:04.Oxfordshire's Green party says all community hospitals could close

:02:05. > :02:09.Cherrywood District Council says if cuts to the

:02:10. > :02:12.Horton go-ahead, that will mean those that need health services

:02:13. > :02:21.They're looking for ways where they can find savings,

:02:22. > :02:25.sizeable savings, quickly and easily.

:02:26. > :02:28.But they are doing it on the back of the most vulnerable people

:02:29. > :02:32.The county and the wider area and that cannot be right and

:02:33. > :02:37.Some people say this is a chance to change our NHS for the better.

:02:38. > :02:39.These plans are going on across the country.

:02:40. > :02:40.They are called sustainability and transformation plans.

:02:41. > :02:43.The influential think tank the King's Fund says it's important

:02:44. > :02:46.as an opportunity to change health care services for the better, but

:02:47. > :02:49.some people would argue it's very difficult to do that at the same

:02:50. > :02:52.time as cutting a big chunk of money out of the budget.

:02:53. > :03:10.A Sunday league footballer from Swindon is facing jail

:03:11. > :03:11.after breaking an opponent's ankle in a foul.

:03:12. > :03:17.Dayne Lewis-Peapell was found guilty of unlawful wounding

:03:18. > :03:19.after the tackle in a game between G-Power Solutions

:03:20. > :03:23.Thames Water says cooking fat has caused nearly 40,000 blockages

:03:24. > :03:25.in the sewage system so far this year.

:03:26. > :03:27.The company says the problem gets worse around Christmas

:03:28. > :03:30.and is appealing to people not to put fat down the sink.

:03:31. > :03:36.Ben Moore has been to their treatment plant in Reading.

:03:37. > :03:38.Whilst we hope that this raw sewage doesn't put

:03:39. > :03:42.you off your Christmas dinner, it's turkey and all the trimmings

:03:43. > :03:47.At Thames Water, they're glad it isn't Christmas every day

:03:48. > :03:52.because at this time of year there's festive filth in the filters.

:03:53. > :03:58.And do you notice a difference as we get into Christmas?

:03:59. > :04:01.Oh, yes, a lot more tinsel, more fat as well.

:04:02. > :04:04.It just builds up and sticks to everything, makes everything ten

:04:05. > :04:11.This is the raw sewer inlet and, believe me,

:04:12. > :04:17.Over the Christmas period, they start to pull more exotic

:04:18. > :04:27.Half eaten food, especially, of course, Brussels sprouts,

:04:28. > :04:33.and sadly over the Christmas period, a lot more deceased pets.

:04:34. > :04:37.But the big nightmare before Christmas is fat.

:04:38. > :04:43.As people cook their dinners, many drain it down the sink.

:04:44. > :04:46.It then congeals deep underground and forms what are called fatbergs.

:04:47. > :04:48.We ask everyone right across the country, please

:04:49. > :04:50.look after the three Ps, three Ps only down the toilet

:04:51. > :04:56.Please put your fat in a jar, put it in the bin and that

:04:57. > :05:01.Festive feasting is doing some good, the methane produced

:05:02. > :05:06.Across the Thames water region, we make enough energy to power

:05:07. > :05:10.So the power could go to TVs on Christmas Day to watch

:05:11. > :05:15.It will be cooking thousands of turkeys, you just won't even know

:05:16. > :05:19.So give yourself an extra helping and pile on the pounds -

:05:20. > :05:30.The next two days are expected to be among the worst this

:05:31. > :05:33.Along with the extra traffic on the roads,

:05:34. > :05:35.there'll no trains into Paddington after tomorrow night.

:05:36. > :05:37.Our transport Paul Clifton has been at Reading station.

:05:38. > :05:40.I asked him whether getting away is going to be worse

:05:41. > :05:44.If this was a panto production, we would all shout

:05:45. > :05:52.The people who monitor traffic jams can't seem to decide whether today

:05:53. > :06:01.is the worst day to travel, or whether it is tomorrow.

:06:02. > :06:04.And plenty of rain in the weather forecast won't help.

:06:05. > :06:07.On the railways, at least we know exactly what will happen.

:06:08. > :06:09.There will be no Great Western trains, at all,

:06:10. > :06:10.into Paddington station for several days.

:06:11. > :06:12.It is shut from eight o'clock tomorrow night.

:06:13. > :06:15.So you have to head home early or not at all.

:06:16. > :06:18.But for people travelling from Oxford there is now

:06:19. > :06:21.an alternative route to Oxford - the new Chiltern Railways line

:06:22. > :06:42.Two years ago this has went spectacularly wrong.

:06:43. > :06:44.Network Rail's contractors over-ran, they finished late, they forgot

:06:45. > :06:56.The result - tens of thousands of passengers stranded.

:06:57. > :07:01.It will help facilitate the introduction of the Crossroads

:07:02. > :07:04.service. It allows us to do work that we wouldn't be able to do at

:07:05. > :07:07.Two years ago this has went spectacularly wrong.

:07:08. > :07:09.Network Rail's contractors over-ran, they finished late, they forgot

:07:10. > :07:13.The result - tens of thousands of passengers stranded.

:07:14. > :07:19.I can't say that it won't happen, but certainly, the relationship has

:07:20. > :07:24.got significantly better since then we've not seen anything like that.

:07:25. > :07:27.We also have more routes open to us, there is the Marylebone route and

:07:28. > :07:31.the Waterloo route and also the route into Ealing Broadway, which is

:07:32. > :07:36.quite important, because that Ben is just a ten minute journey by tube

:07:37. > :07:42.into Paddington itself. On Saturday, we are told there will be eight

:07:43. > :07:48.third more cars on the road than normal. 12 million. I hate to be the

:07:49. > :07:49.harbinger of doom and gloom, but you have been warned.

:07:50. > :07:52.There are only two more Advent calendar doors

:07:53. > :07:56.But one of the country's largest and most unusual Advent calendars,

:07:57. > :07:58.in Buckinghamshire, can be explored right through the holidays.

:07:59. > :08:00.24 doors have been hidden in the vast gardens at Stowe,

:08:01. > :08:03.as part of a festival celebrating the work of Capability Brown.

:08:04. > :08:06.I think we are supposed to go that way.

:08:07. > :08:08.I think that's ready Christmas tree is.

:08:09. > :08:10.It's an advert on a monumental scale.

:08:11. > :08:11.It gives an opportunity to restore the

:08:12. > :08:13.naturalistic landscapes made by England's most famous gardener.

:08:14. > :08:16.We are out in the fresh air and surgeon.

:08:17. > :08:38.We are in the church, it's marked by the Christmas tree

:08:39. > :08:45.Today's head and is inside the church hidden in the Christmas tree.

:08:46. > :08:52.It was here that capability Brown was married. Capability also created

:08:53. > :08:55.the state's revered Grecian Valley, for thinking the then fashion for a

:08:56. > :09:00.formality in favour of natural flowing lines. We're walking down

:09:01. > :09:08.the Serpentine pad which leads down the valley. You create surprisingly

:09:09. > :09:13.Getty said in view. Views which include the recently recreated

:09:14. > :09:19.circle of the dancing phone. He has been inspiring for me. It's amazing

:09:20. > :09:25.to follow in his footsteps and reinterpret his work. The last is

:09:26. > :09:28.hidden in the jewel in the crown of capability Greason Valley, the

:09:29. > :09:33.Temple of Concord and victory. Still gardens will be closed on Christmas

:09:34. > :09:36.Eve and Christmas Day, it reopens on Boxing Day and the head and orders

:09:37. > :09:39.were still busy to exploring to the end of the first week in January.

:09:40. > :09:45.Alexis has the details into the Christmas weekend.

:09:46. > :09:48.Overnight tonight, we are expecting if you

:09:49. > :09:51.clear spells, which may lead to a touch of Frost

:09:52. > :09:55.With the increasing breeze from the south, we are

:09:56. > :09:57.expecting the frost to be kept at bay by the breeze.

:09:58. > :09:59.Temperatures tonight in the countryside will drop to around

:10:00. > :10:02.These are the temperatures in our towns and

:10:03. > :10:05.Tomorrow morning, it will be a chilly start.

:10:06. > :10:07.Some bright and sunny spells initially, but through

:10:08. > :10:10.the course of the morning, the cloud will start to gather

:10:11. > :10:12.and will see one or two outbreaks of light rain.

:10:13. > :10:15.That will be first thing, until the rain arrives Genie

:10:16. > :10:17.afternoon and I could be happy into the evening,

:10:18. > :10:19.Temperatures during daylight hours tomorrow will reach

:10:20. > :10:23.As I said, after dark tomorrow, the rain could be quite

:10:24. > :10:28.Once it does, Christmas Eve, we are looking at a pleasant

:10:29. > :10:30.day with some sunny spells, cloud building

:10:31. > :10:31.through the afternoon and

:10:32. > :10:34.this warm front will arrive during the course of the afternoon on

:10:35. > :10:38.With it, a lot of cloud, but the air behind it will be

:10:39. > :10:41.So Christmas Day is looking very mild indeed, with a

:10:42. > :10:46.It may well be the warmest day, Christmas Day, on record.

:10:47. > :11:10.itself, it's not white, but it's warm. Temperatures could reach 15.

:11:11. > :11:17.I suppose you could say today was the calm before the storm. A winter

:11:18. > :11:20.chill, plenty of sunshine, but more wintry showers in Scotland, more

:11:21. > :11:24.snow over the higher ground. Some of this snow will melt for a time

:11:25. > :11:27.tomorrow because there is wind and rain coming in from the Atlantic. So

:11:28. > :11:32.we'll leave the Highlands behind, head out and look at the cloud here,

:11:33. > :11:36.this tell-tale hook of cloud, signifies a storm is developing,

:11:37. > :11:40.this is Storm Barbara, of course, it is a deep and deepening area of low

:11:41. > :11:43.pressure, rushing towards the north-west of Scotland.

:11:44. > :11:47.Steppingening the winds and bringing rain into the north-west by tomorrow

:11:48. > :11:51.morning. Ahead of it fairly quiet. Already the showers in the north

:11:52. > :11:55.less wintry. Fewer and clearer skies, across England and Wales for

:11:56. > :11:59.a time, it could be chilly. One or two mist and fog patches. Out to the

:12:00. > :12:01.west winds pick up later, cloud increases and the rain arrives and

:12:02. > :12:02.very
