:00:00. > 3:59:59for Mosul underway, there will have to be some follow-through. So what

:00:00. > :00:00.comes next? Coming up: Are they looking

:00:00. > :00:08.for more victims? Police start excavations,

:00:09. > :00:09.behind this barrier, at the former home of double

:00:10. > :00:11.murderer Christopher Halliwell. Also, a week after an explosion

:00:12. > :00:15.at a block of flats in Oxford, 13 households don't have anywhere

:00:16. > :00:29.permanent to live. Today we had highs of 16 Celsius. By

:00:30. > :00:31.the end of the week it will turn colder. I will have the details

:00:32. > :00:35.shortly. Specialist police officers have

:00:36. > :00:38.begun excavation work at the former home of double murderer

:00:39. > :00:40.Christopher Halliwell in Swindon. In 2012, he admitted killing

:00:41. > :00:43.Sian O'Callaghan, then last year, he was convicted of murdering Becky

:00:44. > :00:44.Godden. After the court case,

:00:45. > :00:51.Wiltshire police said they were working with other forces

:00:52. > :00:53.to identify potential Will Glennon sent this

:00:54. > :01:09.report from Swindon. The whole alleyway is sealed off

:01:10. > :01:13.behind me behind a row of terraced houses here on broad Street near the

:01:14. > :01:16.centre of Swindon. Behind the tarpaulin that is blocking the

:01:17. > :01:23.alleyway you can just about make out a white police crime scene tent and

:01:24. > :01:26.some vehicles at the back of the gardens. Wiltshire Police have

:01:27. > :01:31.issued as with the statement tonight. Specialist officers, they

:01:32. > :01:35.say, are carrying out excavation work within the gardens of two

:01:36. > :01:42.properties in broad Street as part of an ongoing investigation by the

:01:43. > :01:47.major crime team. This relates, they say, to intelligence that the force

:01:48. > :01:50.has received. This is significant because the convicted double

:01:51. > :01:58.murderer, Christopher Halliwell, is known by the BBC to have lived here

:01:59. > :02:03.between 1996 and 2000. He lived at number 96 broad St, which is exactly

:02:04. > :02:07.at the back of where the Kent is placed and the excavation work is

:02:08. > :02:11.going on. Police have not told us what intelligence they have and no

:02:12. > :02:17.more details of what it is they are doing what they might be looking

:02:18. > :02:22.for. Christopher Halliwell was convicted in September last year of

:02:23. > :02:25.the merger of the young Swindon woman, Becky Edwards. She went

:02:26. > :02:31.missing in around 2003 and Christopher Halliwell was handed

:02:32. > :02:36.down a whole life sentence for the murder. That is because he was

:02:37. > :02:42.already serving a life sentence for the murder of another young Swindon

:02:43. > :02:48.woman, Sian O'Callaghan. She went missing after a night out in 2011.

:02:49. > :02:53.She was last seen getting into the back of Christopher Halliwell's

:02:54. > :02:59.taxi. Her body was later found nearby inward land. There are eight

:03:00. > :03:04.years between the two murders, 2003-2011. There is significant

:03:05. > :03:10.speculation that there might be other victims. Christopher Halliwell

:03:11. > :03:15.has murdered many other women. Wiltshire Police have not officially

:03:16. > :03:19.linked any other crimes to him, but they have appealed to Christopher

:03:20. > :03:20.Halliwell to search his conscience and to tell them and nothing else

:03:21. > :03:22.that he knows. A woman made homeless in last week's

:03:23. > :03:25.explosion at a block of flats in Oxford says she's been left

:03:26. > :03:28.with no money and has no idea Human remains were discovered

:03:29. > :03:31.at the site in Osney Mead on Saturday, but a post mortem

:03:32. > :03:34.examination was inconclusive. Tenants from 13 properties

:03:35. > :03:36.on Gibbs Crescent are still waiting to hear where they'll be

:03:37. > :03:38.housed long term. This is currently home

:03:39. > :03:49.for Habiba Gudal. Nearly a week on from the explosion

:03:50. > :03:52.and fire that ripped through her block of flats

:03:53. > :03:54.on Gibbs Crescent in Oxford, she still has nightmares

:03:55. > :04:08.about what happened and hasn't been I have no idea what possessions I

:04:09. > :04:14.have loved. I have no idea where I will be taken, I have no idea what

:04:15. > :04:22.is next. I am still devastated and I cannot sleep at night. I have five

:04:23. > :04:25.seconds of the sleep and I wake up. I hear a voice, the explosion, it

:04:26. > :04:27.makes me scared. She's one of 13 households who've

:04:28. > :04:30.been told it's not safe Today, the housing association

:04:31. > :04:34.A2Dominion held a meeting to discuss a more permanent solution,

:04:35. > :04:36.Oxford West and Abingdon MP Nicola Blackwood says it's been

:04:37. > :04:52.extremely distressing It is clearly a hugely shocking

:04:53. > :04:56.incident to happen right in the middle of residential Oxford and for

:04:57. > :04:59.residents to have their whole lives disrupted in such an abrupt and

:05:00. > :05:05.unexpected way and I think that we have to give huge praise to our

:05:06. > :05:08.emergency services for responding in such a quick and comprehensive way.

:05:09. > :05:10.Three flats were destroyed in the blast, five more look

:05:11. > :05:13.Investigators discovered human remains on site on Saturday thought

:05:14. > :05:17.to be those of missing man Guido Schuette who lived

:05:18. > :05:21.in one of the flats, but more tests will be needed

:05:22. > :05:25.to identify the remains and cause of death after post mortem

:05:26. > :05:30.A dozen fire officers have been on site sifting through rubble

:05:31. > :05:33.and debris but as yet there's been no confirmation about what caused

:05:34. > :05:40.The fire service says it plans to hand over the site

:05:41. > :05:43.to the landlord in the next couple of days.

:05:44. > :05:46.Meanwhile, other local residents have started a fundraising campaign

:05:47. > :05:53.Habiba and the remaining tenants are still waiting to discover

:05:54. > :06:01.Three Thames Valley Police officers have appeared before a misconduct

:06:02. > :06:03.hearing after a road accident in Buckinghamshire in

:06:04. > :06:05.which two men were killed Relatives and friends of Malcolm Tindall

:06:06. > :06:07.from Aylesbury and Carl Bird from High Wycombe pressed

:06:08. > :06:13.The men died when their cars collided on an icy stretch

:06:14. > :06:18.of the A413 near Great Missenden in 2014.

:06:19. > :06:20.The misconduct panel aims to establish if three constables

:06:21. > :06:23.failed in their duty to warn road users of the risk

:06:24. > :06:30.Next, the decision that's a major blow to badminton players

:06:31. > :06:33.hoping to play in the next Olympics in Tokyo.

:06:34. > :06:35.Badminton England, based in Milton Keynes, has

:06:36. > :06:39.lost its appeal against the decision by UK Sport to withdraw its funding.

:06:40. > :06:42.The money has been cut despite the sport hitting its medal

:06:43. > :06:44.target, with a bronze in the men's doubles.

:06:45. > :06:58.It was always going to be a decisive naval badminton. Its funding

:06:59. > :07:02.stripped by UK sport, not convinced its players could win medals at the

:07:03. > :07:07.next Olympic Games in two Q. Their future resting on the result of the

:07:08. > :07:12.appeal. It is half past 11 and in that building behind the badminton

:07:13. > :07:15.England's chief executive, Ian Christie, is taking a phone call

:07:16. > :07:19.from UK sport. They will find out the result of the appeal. It will

:07:20. > :07:24.have a massive impact on the future of the sport. It was bad news, the

:07:25. > :07:33.debris field. You must be terribly frustrated. We are, but we are

:07:34. > :07:39.incredibly resilient and equally determined and that is a big blow.

:07:40. > :07:45.We were looking for about 1.2 million a year to get us to Tokyo,

:07:46. > :07:49.but it is a tough hurdle to overcome, but it is not something

:07:50. > :07:54.that will deter our ambition to still deliver medals for Great

:07:55. > :07:59.Britain in four years. UK sport distribute public money in pursuit

:08:00. > :08:07.of medals. Badminton at ?7.4 million for London. For a real it was

:08:08. > :08:11.reduced to 5.7 million. That helped them win the first focus. A few

:08:12. > :08:21.years later it's funding was cut for Tokyo. After Rio we were so buzzed

:08:22. > :08:24.about this centre. We were feeling the national Badminton Centre, this

:08:25. > :08:31.is it, we will go onwards and upwards. I feel like it is just

:08:32. > :08:34.deflating everyone. Unlike 31 other Olympic and Paralympic sports,

:08:35. > :08:38.badminton or that nothing in the run-up to Tokyo. The number of

:08:39. > :08:40.players training here of the cup and staff at headquarters in Milton

:08:41. > :08:45.Keynes have been warned of redundancy. I knew the appeal was

:08:46. > :08:50.imminent. I did not know it was today. Bad news, unbelievable. It

:08:51. > :08:55.has big implications for the sport and Milton Keynes. They have had the

:08:56. > :08:58.Centre for a while, so that might threaten it. Badminton wants more

:08:59. > :09:00.moments like this would need to pick itself up off the floor and come up

:09:01. > :09:01.with a plan for Tokyo. Alexis is next with the weather

:09:02. > :09:11.forecast for the rest of the week. We had fairly mild temperatures to

:09:12. > :09:16.with a high of 16 Celsius. By the end of the week it will turn colder.

:09:17. > :09:20.Might at first, turning colder, practice to be had. If the McLeod

:09:21. > :09:24.and the chance we could have patchy and which could be heavy at times.

:09:25. > :09:27.Rain overnight and more persistent and heavy for a time during the

:09:28. > :09:31.early hours of the morning with temperatures falling to around nine

:09:32. > :09:36.or 10 Celsius. The mild night and demand they tomorrow. Rain at first

:09:37. > :09:39.will gradually start to ease. We will see some drier, brighter

:09:40. > :09:45.conditions during the course of tomorrow or the amount of cloud and

:09:46. > :09:48.still highs of around ten or 11 Celsius. Lower than the values of

:09:49. > :09:52.the day, but fairly mild for the time of year. The Flavia Pennetta

:09:53. > :09:56.denied tomorrow and we will see further outbreaks of rain during the

:09:57. > :10:00.early hours of Wednesday morning. The wind will increase as well. When

:10:01. > :10:06.will become a blustery on Wednesday with temperatures falling down to

:10:07. > :10:10.around 10 Celsius. There will be an increasing south and south westerly

:10:11. > :10:14.wind through wet in the daytime. A mild day but outbreaks of rain are a

:10:15. > :10:18.possibility. Cloud and bright spells here or there and the breeze will

:10:19. > :10:23.bring in the showers which could be heavy at times. Be high on Wednesday

:10:24. > :10:27.will be around 12 Celsius. Brisk wind on Wednesday will stay

:10:28. > :10:31.overnight into Thursday and Thursday the low pressure start swinging in

:10:32. > :10:34.from the Atlantic running strong winds and outbreaks of rain with

:10:35. > :10:38.weather fronts associated with that. The wind will ease through the

:10:39. > :10:42.course of Friday, still quite breezy on Friday and Friday is the day when

:10:43. > :10:47.we might see one or two wintry showers. A mixture of sleet and

:10:48. > :10:52.snow. Turning colder from Thursday onwards. Temperatures on Wednesday

:10:53. > :10:57.the seventh Celsius. Back to their seasonal average. Looking ahead to

:10:58. > :11:00.the weekend, frost early on Saturday and there will be rain for a time

:11:01. > :11:04.during Saturday daytime with showers expected on Sunday. Now, here is

:11:05. > :11:14.As you have just seen, after a day in which some of you have been

:11:15. > :11:17.shedding the layers, you will be putting them back on for the rest of

:11:18. > :11:20.this week. Big changes ahead, all down to where the air has been

:11:21. > :11:27.coming from. Today, it originated in the Caribbean, hence the name

:11:28. > :11:28.tropical maritime air. Temperatures peaked at 18 degrees. But later this
