:00:54. > :01:00.Approximately 120 uniformed officers carried out the raids in the early
:01:01. > :01:03.hours of this morning at ten properties in Banbury
:01:04. > :01:07.Seven men were arrested in connection with child sexual
:01:08. > :01:19.The alleged offences relate to three female victims in Banbury
:01:20. > :01:21.over a seven-year-period between 2008 and 2015.
:01:22. > :01:23.The men arrested today are aged between 21 and 42,
:01:24. > :01:26.and are currently in custody being questioned by detectives.
:01:27. > :01:29.Peter, this isn't the first instance of an operation like this
:01:30. > :01:35.No, in fact, this is the sixth operation of this kind carried out
:01:36. > :01:42.The separate operations were in Oxfordshire
:01:43. > :01:45.Thames Valley Police are trying to reassure the public.
:01:46. > :01:46.Detective Superintendent Paul Hales has called this
:01:47. > :01:50.They are working with other agencies to support the victims.
:01:51. > :01:58.Also, the local area commander has said that child sexual offences
:01:59. > :02:02.and exploitation remain a key priority for Thames Valley Police
:02:03. > :02:05.and perhaps today's arrest may encourage other people who may have
:02:06. > :02:09.had something happen to them in the past to come
:02:10. > :02:13.And if and when they feel ready to do so, Thames Valley Police
:02:14. > :02:15.will be there to listen and support them.
:02:16. > :02:19.The Thames Valley Police and Crime Commissioner has

:03:50. > :03:54.Oxfordshire County Council has invested in its own machine

:03:59. > :04:04.It'll be virtually impossible to keep up with demand, though.
:04:05. > :04:09.Motorists say roads up and down the country aren't up to it.
:04:10. > :04:13.Emphasis is on roads which take the most vehicles
:04:14. > :04:19.and because they consider us as a country lane, underused,
:04:20. > :04:21.quite likely we are low on the priority list.
:04:22. > :04:28.Local government find themselves in between and they are stuck with
:04:29. > :04:32.all the rap whereas the government get away with it.
:04:33. > :04:34.It is in towns that I notice that they need more
:04:35. > :04:39.But we have just come down the motorway and it has been fine.

:04:42. > :04:50.An extra ?1 billion has been pledged by the government
:04:51. > :04:55.That's nowhere near enough, according to the Asphalt
:04:56. > :05:02.The group says that local roads in England and Wales are on the edge
:05:03. > :05:10.It says that one in six roads is in poor condition and if some
:05:11. > :05:17.of these roads aren't mended in the next few years,

:07:26. > :07:33.A stroll and a roll in the Spring sunshine is an indication of just
:07:34. > :07:38.how far this couple and their pet pooch Puffy have come.
:07:39. > :07:41.It's two years since she ran out in front of a car,
:07:42. > :07:47.But after months of therapy, and finally with these new wheels,
:07:48. > :07:50.this Chinese Crested Powderpuff has regained a quality of life that once
:07:51. > :07:58.She has a real will and determination to carry
:07:59. > :08:00.on, we wanted to give her that chance.
:08:01. > :08:03.The wheels have really made a different to keeping her happy
:08:04. > :08:07.Her first wheels were a DIY job made by
:08:08. > :08:10.Mike's dad, but they were enough to prove that getting a proper support

:08:16. > :08:18.to exercise her paralysed back legs, helping build core strength
:08:19. > :08:25.Another part of her recovery has been twice-weekly
:08:26. > :08:28.sessions at the UK's top canine aquatic therapy unit here in
:08:29. > :08:31.Walking on a treadmill while supported by the water has
:08:32. > :08:37.She's always been a really positive dog.
:08:38. > :08:40.She's never let it get to her, she's always wanted to try and do
:08:41. > :08:44.Even from when she first came to see me, when she was
:08:45. > :08:46.paraplegic, she would drag herself around the floor.
:08:47. > :08:52.Puffy's wheels cost ?1,500 - that money raised in just a few days
:08:53. > :08:54.through donations to an online appeal.
:08:55. > :08:56.The response we've had is completely overwhelming.
:08:57. > :08:58.I could certainly never, ever have expected it and we
:08:59. > :09:03.There is nothing better than watching her charging around the
:09:04. > :09:05.field, being able to get out and about, sniffing, just doing things
:09:06. > :09:14.Although Puffy will never walk again unaided, thanks to her new wheels
