:00:53. > :00:57.protect them after woman was in her own home. She died in hospital after

:00:58. > :01:00.a gang attack in January. Thames Valley Police say there is no

:01:01. > :01:03.evidence the Chinese community is being targeted.

:01:48. > :01:51.and there is concern within the Chinese community that

:02:15. > :02:24.Do you feel that the police and the council are doing

:02:25. > :02:29.No, we don't feel that, because we feel let down

:02:30. > :02:31.by the authorities and, a lot of the time, when incidents happen,

:02:32. > :02:34.it seems we are only left with a crime number.

:02:35. > :02:36.This is the letter outlining the community's concerns.

:02:37. > :02:49.I have also got here the reply from Thames Valley Police.

:02:50. > :02:51.They say only 4% of burglaries committed in Milton Keynes affect

:02:52. > :02:55.Both the council leader here and also police officers have

:03:33. > :03:35.and telling the woman to make him cups of tea when the black

:03:36. > :03:41.A four-day misconduct hearing will start in Oxford, later this month.

:03:42. > :03:43.A Paralympian who lost his leg while trespassing on a railway line

:03:44. > :03:46.near Milton Keynes is warning young people to not

:03:47. > :03:54.Figures from British Transport Police show 127 young people

:03:55. > :04:00.were caught last year in the Reading area and 119 around Milton Keynes.

:04:01. > :04:02.John Maguire has been to meet Simon Munn

:04:03. > :04:12.It would just have been a field, leading up to a fence.

:04:13. > :04:15.Like I say, even walklng towards it, I knew what was going to be here.

:04:16. > :04:19.I knew what my decision was going to be and that was to come here,

:04:20. > :04:22.jump the fence and take a shortcut home.

:04:23. > :04:25.The passing train serves as a timely reminder to the

:04:26. > :04:29.dangers of Simon Munn's fateful decision that night 27 years ago.

:04:30. > :04:42.I couldn't get my foot out and was, literally, waiting for a train

:04:43. > :04:45.to come along and take my leg off, as it were.

:04:46. > :04:48.It seemed like it was a fortnight, but it was only a few minutes.

:04:49. > :04:51.Having lost his leg, Simon, always a keen sportsman,

:04:52. > :04:58.It has been a major part of his life ever since.

:04:59. > :04:59.He has represented Britain in seven Paralympic Games,

:05:00. > :05:04.travelled the world and won a whole host of medals.

:05:05. > :05:08.But still, he wishes he had gone nowhere near the railway line.

:05:09. > :05:12.My life since then has been, you know, pretty good,

:05:13. > :05:22.But right now, yeah, I'd have my leg back, 100%.

:05:23. > :05:29.Simon realises that he was both lucky and unlucky that night.

:05:30. > :05:31.Unfortunate to get hit by the train in the first place,

:05:32. > :05:39.but incredibly fortunate to escape with his life.

:05:40. > :05:42.There's been a rise in the number of horses involved in accidents

:05:43. > :05:48.on roads across our region The British Horse Society says

:05:49. > :05:51.there were 31 last year and two horses are now known to have died.

:05:52. > :05:55.Drivers are now being warned to reduce their speed.

:05:56. > :06:03.We are running a campaign which is raising awareness and encouraging

:06:04. > :06:07.people to report when they've had a near miss or an incident on the road

:06:08. > :06:09.with a call or another road user. We're getting a lot more reports

:06:10. > :06:21.coming in. Hundreds of mental health patients

:06:22. > :06:23.in Oxfordshire are being left to cope alone after leaving hospital.

:06:24. > :06:25.That's according to the mental health charity Mind.

:06:26. > :06:28.Earlier I spoke to Vicki Nash from the charity:

:06:29. > :06:31.When you leave hospital following a mental author traces,

:06:32. > :06:33.you could've been in hospital for a few days or

:06:34. > :06:36.for a few months that is very important that you the rate support

:06:37. > :06:46.At your most vulnerable when people are most likely

:06:47. > :06:48.to take the time when people are most likely

:06:49. > :07:04.In some places it is, in another it is not.

:07:05. > :07:11.One in ten people in England were not been followed up

:07:12. > :07:16.It is a patient safety matter for the hospital

:07:17. > :07:21.We want people to be seen 48 hours after being

:07:22. > :07:31.discharged following a

:07:32. > :07:37.More than 20 million cars are expected to be on the roads this

:07:38. > :07:40.weekend as part of the Easter getaway.The A34 and M4 could be

:07:41. > :07:51.Traffic here on the A34's been building steadily this afternoon,

:07:52. > :07:56.with cars and campervans fully loaded ready for the long weekend,

:07:57. > :07:59.the stretch between Abingdon up to the M40's predicted to be one

:08:00. > :08:02.of the busiest roads in the country - it's a major route connecting

:08:03. > :08:07.And the M4 westbound from London to Newbury could see queues

:08:08. > :08:09.of around 90 minutes as plenty of Londoners head out

:08:10. > :08:21.The RAC says it expects traffic to peak on Easter Sunday

:08:22. > :08:25.but shouldn't be as heavy as in previous years.

:08:26. > :08:35.Some people are are having time off. The volume could be lower as there

:08:36. > :08:42.are less schools on the road. It will bring accident is round. If you

:08:43. > :08:44.want a motorist can expect some delays but it is not as it has been

:08:45. > :08:46.through previous years. As for the trains, the good news

:08:47. > :08:50.is Network Rail says 95% of services will be running as normal

:08:51. > :08:52.but there are a few engineering projects to tell

:08:53. > :08:54.you about in the South. On GWR formally

:08:55. > :08:56.First Great Western - there'll be a reduced service

:08:57. > :09:01.in and out of Bath Spa there'll be a reduced service

:09:02. > :09:06.between Aylesbury Vale Parkway and London Marylebone on Good Friday

:09:07. > :09:08.and Easter Monday. And on South West Trains -

:09:09. > :09:11.from Reading station there'll be fewer services to and from Waterloo

:09:12. > :09:13.from Friday to Sunday because of new signalling

:09:14. > :09:15.and track replacement work. If you're heading to the airports

:09:16. > :09:19.it's worth noting there's a reduced service to Heathrow from Paddington

:09:20. > :09:22.on Saturday, while there's no Gatwick Express service

:09:23. > :09:24.from Victoria on Easter Sunday. As always the general advice

:09:25. > :09:27.is to check before you travel and allow plenty of extra time

:09:28. > :09:34.for your journey. That is it from us, now, the

:09:35. > :09:45.weather. The sunshine came and went today in

:09:46. > :09:49.places. Tonight, we have clear spells and it should be mainly dry.

:09:50. > :09:53.The club will increase during the early hours of the morning. Most

:09:54. > :09:58.places will stay dry with temperatures falling away to seven

:09:59. > :10:02.Celsius. A cloudy day tomorrow in general. Brighter spells more likely

:10:03. > :10:07.during the morning. Through the afternoon, the cloud will thicken

:10:08. > :10:10.and we will see an increasing breeze. Outbreaks of rain possible

:10:11. > :10:15.through the afternoon. The rain could be heavy at times tomorrow.

:10:16. > :10:19.Temperatures up to 14 Celsius. There may be some heavy rain for a time

:10:20. > :10:24.tomorrow evening and tomorrow night. That will clear away and on Saturday

:10:25. > :10:31.it may be a damp start but brightening up through the course of

:10:32. > :10:37.the day. Wheels are coming in from the north-west. I pressure is down

:10:38. > :10:41.below and not far away. Saturday is a settled day and one of the better

:10:42. > :10:45.days of the bank holiday. Tomorrow, we are expecting the unsettled

:10:46. > :10:51.conditions with outbreaks of rain at times. Tomorrow, Good Friday,

:10:52. > :10:58.outbreaks of rain from the course of the day. Temperatures will reach 13

:10:59. > :11:01.Celsius. Saturday, a better day with sunny spells. Easter Sunday, the

:11:02. > :11:08.We will keep you updated. Now with the National Outlook, Tomasz

:11:09. > :11:09.Schafernaker. Good evening. It's not
