:01:10. > :01:16.A Sussex police sergeant to in the past has been commended for his
:01:16. > :01:23.bravery has been jailed for downloading and distributing more
:01:23. > :01:26.than 55,000 indecent images of children. 26-year-old Philip
:01:26. > :01:28.Savidge, from Burgess Hill, told detectives his collection of child
:01:28. > :01:30.pornography snowballed out of control. Today, he was jailed for
:01:30. > :01:32.27 months. Colin Campbell has the story.
:01:33. > :01:37.He was a Sussex police sergeant commended for outstanding bravery,
:01:37. > :01:41.but what no-one knew was that at home, Philip Savidge had compiled a
:01:41. > :01:46.massive library of child pornography. Tens of thousands of
:01:47. > :01:52.extreme images of young children which are shed over the internet.
:01:52. > :01:56.Indecent images of children being sexually abused are disturbing. Of
:01:56. > :02:02.all levels. And they were particularly disturbing with babies
:02:02. > :02:07.and toddlers. It is eight case of them being distributed for the
:02:07. > :02:11.sexual ratification of like minded offenders. Be a Sussex police
:02:11. > :02:20.officer for six years, he said his fascination with child pornography
:02:20. > :02:24.had spiralled out of control. total, he admitted to 42 charges,
:02:24. > :02:30.possessing the over 54,000 indecent images. At least 1,400 graded at
:02:30. > :02:34.Level 5, the most extreme. It was revealed he shed the images with at
:02:34. > :02:40.least 100 paedophiles and he likened his obsession to collecting
:02:40. > :02:43.sporting pictures. Sentencing him to 26 months in prison, the judge
:02:43. > :02:48.told the former acting police sergeant his offences were wicked
:02:48. > :02:52.and evil and that each picture represented a child being abused.
:02:53. > :02:57.And there were a horrendous number of images involved. Philip Savidge
:02:58. > :03:01.resigned the day he was arrested. He was involved in youth
:03:01. > :03:06.organisations, a Scout leader and cricket coach. Detectives are
:03:06. > :03:09.trying to trace those he shared images with online.
:03:10. > :03:12.A brand new facility which will secure jobs in Dorset for years to
:03:12. > :03:14.come with a multi-million pound RAF contract was unveiled today.
:03:15. > :03:16.Aviation firm Cobham, which is based at Bournemouth Airport, will
:03:17. > :03:26.convert Airbus A3-30s into the latest, state-of-the-art, air-to-
:03:26. > :03:30.air refuelling planes. The deal with Cobham is worth �150 million.
:03:30. > :03:34.Twelve A3-30s will be converted at a new hangar at the firm's base,
:03:34. > :03:36.known as Hangar 12. And the project will provide job security for more

:04:39. > :04:44.makes it a world beater. This is 13 years of hard work by a lot of
:04:44. > :04:48.people. Delighted that in these hard economic times, we are able to
:04:48. > :04:54.provide 100 extra jobs for the local communities. With an eye to
:04:54. > :04:57.the long-term, the company has taken on a dozen apprentices.
