:00:30. > :00:32.
:00:32. > :00:38.animals in the forest. It is only by these cases been publicised that
:00:38. > :00:41.people would realise how serious it And it's a top of table clash -
:00:41. > :00:47.Saints face their biggest test yet as they take on West Ham at St
:00:47. > :00:53.Mary's. It is a Premiership team and a challenge to Premiership
:00:53. > :01:01.standard. Why can't wait to play against them and I know the lads
:01:01. > :01:04.can't either. A former Parliamentary researcher
:01:04. > :01:11.for the Portsmouth MP Mike Hancock has denied being a spy and snaring
:01:11. > :01:14.the Defence Select Committee member in a honeytrap operation. Katia
:01:14. > :01:18.Zatuliveter admitted having a four year relationship with the married
:01:18. > :01:22.Liberal Democrat MP. She had previously been having an affair
:01:22. > :01:25.with a Dutch diplomat, and took up with a NATO official after her
:01:25. > :01:30.relationship with Mr Hancock ended. She was fighting an attempt to
:01:30. > :01:34.deport her from the UK at a hearing in London today. Our reporter Joe
:01:34. > :01:41.Campbell was there and I spoke to him just before we came on air. I
:01:41. > :01:49.asked Joe how Mr Hancock had first met this young woman.
:01:49. > :01:55.Katia Zatuliveter was just 20 when she met the 60-year-old member for
:01:55. > :01:59.Portsmouth South, the MP whose constituency contains Britain's
:01:59. > :02:04.biggest naval base. She was acting as a chaperone when they visited
:02:04. > :02:07.Russia. A short time afterwards she met with up -- up with him at his
:02:07. > :02:12.hotel and went for dinner with him and had a coffee with him. They
:02:12. > :02:17.struck up a relationship as a result of that. She then moved to

:02:36. > :02:41.parliamentary security pass and she eventually became his researcher.
:02:41. > :02:50.She said she had targeted him because he had had a series of
:02:50. > :02:54.extra-marital affairs. She says that in actual fact he was not an
:02:55. > :03:01.important man, just a humble backbencher. She admitted she had
:03:01. > :03:04.drafted defence questions for him. Is Mr Hancock expected to give
:03:04. > :03:09.evidence? Mr Hancock has always insisted he
:03:09. > :03:13.did nothing wrong in employing her. He has not been expected to appear
:03:13. > :03:19.in London but the suggestion is that she has denied herself
:03:19. > :03:25.throughout that she was a spy. She did admit she had had an
:03:25. > :03:32.relationship -- a relationship with a Dutch diplomat and she then went
:03:32. > :03:36.on to start seeing a NATO official. It was as she returned to the
:03:36. > :03:44.United Kingdom, to get wet, but she was stopped by members of the

:03:46. > :03:50.being questioned that she mentioned Mike Hancock.
:03:50. > :03:53.A police force is in shock after the body of one of its officers was
:03:53. > :03:56.found in woodland in West Sussex. The woman police officer worked for
:03:56. > :04:00.Surrey Police. A former detective with the force is being questioned.
:04:00. > :04:03.It's believed they were a couple and lived in Haslemere. The woman's
:04:03. > :04:06.body was found just over the border in woodland near Lurgashall. Our
:04:06. > :04:13.reporter has been following today's events and joins us from our
:04:13. > :04:18.Brighton studio. What more can you tell us? Serie police have told us
:04:18. > :04:21.they have been given a further 36 hours to question a man they are
:04:21. > :04:31.holding in connection with the inquiry. All they have told me is
:04:31. > :04:34.that he is 35. He has been named locally as Peter Foster, a former
:04:34. > :04:38.detective constable who served with Surrey Police and now works as a
:04:38. > :04:40.plumber. I've been told he is from the area. Police were called to a
:04:40. > :04:43.house in West Street in Haselmere on Sunday evening. They then
:04:43. > :04:49.searched an area of Blackdown woods just over the West Sussex border
:04:49. > :04:53.about five miles away and found a body. Again we are waiting for a
:04:53. > :05:01.formal ID, but locally she has been named as Heather Cooper, a police
:05:01. > :05:09.woman with Surrey Police. We believe she has a young family and
:05:09. > :05:13.a baby. Neighbours told me that they were shocked. I do not know
:05:13. > :05:17.who they were, they were here and then the next minute it was empty.
:05:17. > :05:23.His is unimaginable that something like that is on your doorstep. It
:05:23. > :05:33.makes us realise we are all very vulnerable. Do we know how the
:05:33. > :05:43.inquiry is progressing? A post mortem examination has been
:05:43. > :05:44.
:05:44. > :05:50.carried out today. Police are appealing for information on eight
:05:50. > :05:59.BMW estate. They say if anyone saw it they should get in touch because
:05:59. > :06:02.that information could prove vital to this inquiry.
:06:02. > :06:05.A serving soldier who saw action in Iraq five years ago today denied
:06:05. > :06:07.any involvement in a Portsmouth- based paedophile ring. Daniel Bell,
:06:07. > :06:12.who is originally from Emsworth, had linked up with Robert Hathaway

:06:15. > :06:18.of offences, including the rape and sexual assault of children under
:06:18. > :06:21.the age of 13. Today, Bell dismissed any conversations that

:06:39. > :06:47.her co-accused. The first person to take to the witness box was Daniel
:06:47. > :06:52.Bell and he's spent almost the day there. Prosecution said he had an
:06:52. > :06:56.inherent interest in children. Logs were read out between -- of
:06:56. > :07:01.conversations between him and Robert Hathaway. The court was told
:07:01. > :07:03.he had taken setback in his personal life, had taken to
:07:03. > :07:07.drinking and had sought out conversation to ease the loneliness.
:07:07. > :07:10.He maintained they were pure fantasy and even then the pair had
:07:10. > :07:13.discussed sexual activity with children and the possibility of
:07:13. > :07:19.meeting up, he said it was nothing he had ever intended to follow
:07:19. > :07:22.through. Mr Bell told the court he had made comments to get attention
:07:22. > :07:26.from Robert Hathaway. He said in the clear light of day, I am second
:07:26. > :07:31.of it. It does not remind me of anything ever do and it makes me
:07:31. > :07:40.hit my thumb. Two other men, John Maddox from Essex and marked day
:07:40. > :07:44.from Kent are also accused of being in the paedophile ring. Continues.
:07:44. > :07:47.-- the case continues. There's been a dramatic rise in the
:07:47. > :07:49.number of New Forest animals knocked down by motorists who then
