:00:08. > :00:12.Hello, I'm Sally Taylor, welcome to south Today. In the programme:
:00:12. > :00:18.Three people are injured after a helicopter crashes near a city
:00:18. > :00:22.centre. There was one plan on the floor, he
:00:22. > :00:25.looked unconscious, the other two were helping each other out.
:00:25. > :00:29.Profits warning - Southampton Airport's biggest operator feels
:00:29. > :00:34.the pinch as it faces challenging times.
:00:34. > :00:38.Radyi for action - the first deployment of the navy's newest
:00:38. > :00:42.class of Destroyer -- ready for action. Olympic triple gold
:00:42. > :00:47.medallist Ben Ainslie reflects on that moment on the water Down Under.
:00:47. > :00:57.25 years of racing at the highest level, I've never seen anything
:00:57. > :01:00.
:01:01. > :01:06.like it. Very disappointing for all Three people have been injured, one
:01:06. > :01:10.seriously, after a helicopter crashed in Salisbury. The
:01:10. > :01:15.helicopter hit a tree and came down in churchfields industrial estate
:01:15. > :01:19.just after 7.30am. People working nearby described seeing the
:01:19. > :01:25.helicopter flying low before hearing a bang. Rachael's been at
:01:25. > :01:28.the crash scene today and joins us from there now.
:01:28. > :01:32.When paramedics and fire crews arrived on the scene this morning,
:01:32. > :01:38.all three men had managed to get out of the helicopter. Two of them
:01:38. > :01:41.were about where I'm standing now. Tonight, I can still smell the
:01:41. > :01:45.aviation fuel. It's seeped into the ground around me. Above, the
:01:45. > :01:49.branches have been sliced through by the row tar blades of the
:01:49. > :01:53.helicopter. One police officer said today he thought it was amazing it
:01:53. > :01:57.hadn't just burst into thraims on impact and everyone managed to get
:01:57. > :02:02.out -- flames on impact and everyone managed to get out. The
:02:02. > :02:06.emergency call came just after 9.30. People working nearby watched the
:02:06. > :02:10.helicopter in trouble over these trees. He looked as if he was going
:02:10. > :02:15.to land in the field at the back and then all of a sudden, the tail
:02:15. > :02:18.end of the helicopter came up and he went down and sort of
:02:18. > :02:23.counteracted it, then it disappeared and you heard the
:02:23. > :02:26.engines cut out. It flipped over and tried to nose dive into the
:02:26. > :02:32.ground. I don't know how the pilot managed to pull the nose back up
:02:32. > :02:36.again. We saw the nose come back up, not horizontal, and then obviously
:02:36. > :02:40.it thuded into the ground. pilot and his passengers, all men
:02:40. > :02:45.in their 40s, had taken off from Bath this morning. As it came down,
:02:45. > :02:51.onlookers from the Churchfield industrial estate clambered through
:02:51. > :02:55.the woodland to help. There was a man on the floor, he
:02:55. > :03:00.was unconscious, the other two were helping each other out of the
:03:00. > :03:05.aircraft. All three were injured, one had a nasty gash on the hid.
:03:05. > :03:09.There were people the other side of the river shouting fire, so we got
:03:09. > :03:14.a fire extinguisher from the workshop and I did my best to put
:03:14. > :03:17.the smoke out from the engine -- gash on the head. Two men were
:03:17. > :03:22.airlifted to Southampton General Hospital. The third man was taken
:03:22. > :03:26.to Salisbury district hospital in an ambulance. Police say the pilot
:03:26. > :03:30.has a head injury and all three men have injuries to their back and
:03:30. > :03:33.legs but police say it was remarkable no-one was killed.
:03:34. > :03:36.been extensively damaged and we are amazed anyone's escaped, but we are
:03:37. > :03:41.delighted that we have three people out of the aircraft and that
:03:41. > :03:44.they're not seriously injured. Investigators have spent the day
:03:45. > :03:49.here examining the crash scene and spooking to witnesses. But Sally,
:03:49. > :03:55.what we still don't know this evening is where the helicopter was
:03:55. > :03:59.heading, who was on board and what caused it to crash in the woodlands.
:03:59. > :04:03.Three men have been charged with kofpb spiring to steal more than 2
:04:03. > :04:07.million from the University of Sussex. Two men from Leicester aged
:04:07. > :04:11.35 and 36, and a 33-year-old from Dewsbury in West Yorkshire are
:04:11. > :04:15.accused of conspiring to steal in October 2010. It's alleged money
:04:15. > :04:24.paid by the university for building work on new student accommodation
:04:24. > :04:26.was unlawfully diverted to an unrelated account. The men appear -
:04:27. > :04:29.- appeared in Magistrates Court today.
:04:29. > :04:35.The biggest airline at Southampton Airport warned it's making
:04:35. > :04:39.significantly less money today than it expected. Flybe's share price
:04:39. > :04:42.dropped by a fifth and the airline said it was cutting flights. I'm
:04:42. > :04:47.joined by our Transport Correspondent, Paul Clifton here in
:04:47. > :04:53.the studio. Sounds serious? It is. This is a second profits warning
:04:53. > :04:56.from Flybe. Why does that matter? Flybe is the overwhelmingly
:04:56. > :05:04.dominant operator at Southampton Airport, operating three out of
:05:04. > :05:08.four flights there. It serves 36 of the airports -- airport's 48 routes,
:05:08. > :05:13.including the most particular services. Flybe says it's cut the
:05:13. > :05:18.flights in the UK by 6prst this winter because of falling demand --
:05:18. > :05:24.6%. Southampton Airport says it hasn't seen the level of drop-off
:05:24. > :05:30.in demand that other airports have. What impact is it having? Fliebe
:05:30. > :05:34.expanded rapidly for a decade, now it's selling off surplus planes
:05:34. > :05:38.instead -- Flybe. The share price dropped today by 20% and it stands
:05:38. > :05:43.a at a sixth of the value it reached a year ago. Analysts say it
:05:43. > :05:50.won't turn a profit this year, Flybe itself describes business as
:05:50. > :05:53.challenging, but it says it has a strong future in the long-term.--
:05:53. > :05:59.Southampton Airport depends heavily on Flybe. So what does it say about
:05:59. > :06:03.the health of the airports? People are feeling the pinch, flying less.
:06:03. > :06:07.Partly that's due to the rising cost of fuel, pushing up fares.
:06:07. > :06:12.It's also, according to the airlines down partly to increasing
:06:12. > :06:14.taxation. Business travel's down a little, leisure travel is down more,
:06:14. > :06:19.Bournemouth Airport's seen passenger numbers fall, though
:06:20. > :06:23.Gatwick is doing very well. It's still growing. Transport is a key
:06:23. > :06:28.indicator of the state of the economy. When it picks up, people
:06:28. > :06:33.will go back to flying and travelling more. But in the short-
:06:33. > :06:36.term, airports and airlines are facing a bumpy ride. One analyst
:06:36. > :06:39.told me, don't expect a bounce back any time soon.
:06:39. > :06:42.Thank you very much. A former Metropolitan police
:06:42. > :06:46.officer living in Berkshire has been arrested on suspicion of
:06:46. > :06:49.misconduct in public office and Data Protection Act offences. The
:06:49. > :06:52.man is being questioned at a Thames Valley police station by
:06:52. > :06:56.investigators from the Independent Police Complaints Commission. A
:06:56. > :06:58.spokesperson said the arrest related to the alleged passing of
:06:58. > :07:02.unauthorised information to a journalist.
:07:02. > :07:07.Thousands of commuters were caught in traffic chaos during this
:07:07. > :07:13.morn's's rush hour after a lorry spilled diesel along a 16 mile
:07:13. > :07:17.route between Surrey and Hampshire. It began to leak from Farnborough
:07:17. > :07:20.to Knaphill. It led to some accidents which caused some roads
:07:21. > :07:24.to be closed. An investigation is under way.
:07:24. > :07:28.Manipulative and devious, words used in court to describe the man
:07:28. > :07:31.accused of murdering Hampshire pensioner Georgina Edmonds. The
:07:31. > :07:38.prosecution claimed Matthew Hamlen tried to set up a false alibi for
:07:38. > :07:48.the day the 77-year-old was beaten to death in January 2008. 33-year-
:07:48. > :07:49.
:07:49. > :07:54.old from bishop Stoke denies murder. Georgina Edmonds was found dead.
:07:54. > :07:58.Today a court was told a man accused of her murder tried to
:07:58. > :08:03.concoct a false alibi. Police recorded Matthew Hamlen talking to
:08:03. > :08:13.his mother while he was in police custody following his arrest in
:08:13. > :08:18.
:08:18. > :08:25.Today, the court heard that Matthew Hamlen hadn't known Gary or Sarah
:08:25. > :08:29.at the time of the murder. Michael BeausQC prosecuting said "What you
:08:29. > :08:36.were doing was setting your mother up so see if she would go round and
:08:36. > :08:39.see if Gary would do you a favour." "what you did was extremely
:08:39. > :08:44.manipulative and devious". Hamlen said he'd never set his mother up.
:08:44. > :08:48.He told the court "this was a private conversation with my mum."
:08:48. > :08:51.he said at no point did he give police a false alibi. The
:08:51. > :08:59.prosecution Saima thue Hamlen repeatedly stabbed Mrs Edmonds
:08:59. > :09:09.before beating her to death with a rolling pin. -- -- say Matthew
:09:09. > :09:12.
:09:12. > :09:17.Hamlen. The prosecutor said Mr Hamlen was not in a great place in
:09:17. > :09:20.2008. Mr Hamlen said that wasn't the case and went on to say "I did
:09:20. > :09:24.not kill Mrs Edmonds, I would not and could not do something like
:09:24. > :09:33.that, you can twist the facts and figures however you like, but that
:09:33. > :09:37.doesn't change the fact this wasn't me". The case continues.
:09:37. > :09:42.Fireworks which shot into a crowd of spectators causing some minor
:09:42. > :09:45.injuries at a Christmas festival were set up incorrectly due to
:09:45. > :09:48.ambiguous instructions on the box according to the organisers. An
:09:48. > :09:51.investigation was launched following the accident at the
:09:51. > :09:55.Blandford Yuletide Festival in December in which six rockets went
:09:55. > :09:59.off in the wrong direction. Dorset Trading Standards says it will
:09:59. > :10:02.contact the manufacturers. The festival organisers will seek
:10:02. > :10:10.additional advice for next year's event.
:10:10. > :10:19.Stay with us because still to come: The cooperative workers toasting
:10:19. > :10:25.their hopes for a business success. An investigation has started after
:10:25. > :10:30.a fire damaged 11 cars on Portland. Firefighters were called overnight
:10:30. > :10:33.following the blaze which broke out next to Inmosthay Quarry. Two
:10:34. > :10:39.shipping containers, an empty horse box and mobile building were all
:10:39. > :10:43.damaged in the fire. People who enjoy diving in the
:10:43. > :10:47.waters off the Dorset coast have started a campaign to save the
:10:47. > :10:52.search and rescue helicopter which is based at Portland. The
:10:53. > :10:56.Department for Transport plans to concern trait south coast cover at
:10:56. > :11:02.Lee on the Solent in Hampshire. Divers say lives are at risk and
:11:03. > :11:06.they will take their message to the Prime Minister tomorrow.
:11:06. > :11:11.The waters around Weymouth and Dorset are a Mecca for divers with
:11:11. > :11:15.200 wrecks within 20 miles. Even in January, expert divers like Nigel
:11:15. > :11:19.Holder have no hesitation in setting out, secure in the
:11:19. > :11:25.knowledge that the coastguard helicopters are close at hand if he
:11:25. > :11:28.gets into difficulty, as they have done in the past. A diver suffering
:11:28. > :11:32.from decompression sickness, the injuries are dependent on time. The
:11:32. > :11:36.longer you leave it, the worse the injuries, so the quick response is
:11:36. > :11:41.very important. On one occasion, we had a lady who I was diving at the
:11:41. > :11:47.time with her, she said that she couldn't move her legs and she was
:11:47. > :11:52.losing her sight. The helicopter was there within five minutes.
:11:52. > :11:57.year, 45 divers were taken to the decompression chamber at Poole. The
:11:57. > :12:01.current plan is for ten helicopters stationed equally around the coast.
:12:01. > :12:06.But divers argue they should be placed where they are needed most.
:12:06. > :12:10.With a quarter of Britain's total helicopter resources coordinated by
:12:10. > :12:18.Brixham, Portland or Lee-on-Solent, the Dorset MP Richard Drax believes
:12:18. > :12:21.a quarter of the resources should be available. We had a diver swept
:12:21. > :12:26.around Portland who, some would say, might have been drowned or lost for
:12:26. > :12:29.longer had it not been for the fact the helicopter was there within
:12:29. > :12:33.minutes. Tomorrow he'll make his case directly to the Prime Minister.
:12:33. > :12:39.The Department of Transport says the plan to shut Portland and RAF
:12:39. > :12:42.Bulmer in the north-east will not compromise safety. Recently, they
:12:42. > :12:47.spent 5 million on the new coastguard centre which will have a
:12:47. > :12:51.high profile during the Olympics. It's not just the divers worried
:12:51. > :12:55.about rescue cover, with plans for a new ferry service from Weymouth
:12:55. > :13:03.to France and huge offshore windfarms in the pipeline as the
:13:03. > :13:07.cuts take effect, the demand for the helicopter services is rising.
:13:07. > :13:12.Part of the M4 near Reading will be closed tonight to undergo essential
:13:12. > :13:17.maintenance. Work will be carried out where the motorway crosses the
:13:17. > :13:21.river Lodden between junctions 10 and 11. Diversions will be in place
:13:21. > :13:25.between 10 and 5.30 tomorrow morning.
:13:25. > :13:30.A new chapter in the history of the Royal Navy will begin tomorrow when
:13:30. > :13:34.HMS Daring sets sail for the Middle East. It's the first time one of
:13:34. > :13:41.the navy's new 1 billion Type-45 Destroyers has been sent on an
:13:41. > :13:47.operational deployment. It comes amid rising tensions in the Gulf.
:13:47. > :13:50.There have been hundreds of last- minute jobs for the crew of HMS
:13:50. > :13:54.Daring as the countdown continues to the start of her voyage to the
:13:54. > :13:58.Middle East. It's the first time one of the navy's new Type-45
:13:58. > :14:01.Destroyers is going on an operational deployment. It comes
:14:01. > :14:05.after months or training and testing, much of it revolving
:14:05. > :14:10.around the ship's sophisticated radar and missile system.
:14:10. > :14:14.I think everyone's really excited. It's been such a big build-up and
:14:14. > :14:18.workup to get to this point. Everyone's keen to get going to do
:14:18. > :14:22.what they've been trained for. key part is that this is Daring, it
:14:22. > :14:25.feels special to be part of it because of that fact, she's the
:14:26. > :14:29.first of the class, the first of the deployment. The Ministry of
:14:29. > :14:34.Defence is describing it as a routine deployment, but it comes
:14:34. > :14:37.against a background of increased tensions in the Middle East with
:14:37. > :14:42.Iran threatening to close the straits of Hormuz, a vital artery
:14:42. > :14:46.for oil shipments. Events can unfold rapidly, as we saw with
:14:46. > :14:49.Libya last year, so I wouldn't put any money or what may or may not
:14:49. > :14:56.happen. We are deploying on a routine operation but are ready for
:14:56. > :15:00.anything. The navy is getting six Type-45s, each costing 1 billion.
:15:00. > :15:04.The ships were built in huge sections, the front end constructed
:15:04. > :15:10.in Portsmouth. All the parts were assembled on the Clyde in Scotland.
:15:10. > :15:14.HMS Daring first arrived in Portsmouth on a cold misty morning
:15:14. > :15:20.in January 2009. Tomorrow she leave force the warmth
:15:20. > :15:24.and sunshine of the Middle East. She'll be aware -- away for seven
:15:24. > :15:28.months. HMS Daring leaving Portsmouth
:15:28. > :15:33.tomorrow. A project to try to stop rare wildlife being destroyed on
:15:33. > :15:36.Portland in Dorset has just been launched. Portland in Peril aims to
:15:36. > :15:42.halt an alien plant invasion. It's being funded with hundreds of
:15:42. > :15:47.thousands of pounds from the landfill tax.
:15:47. > :15:51.Experts from Dorset Wildlife Trust are on Safari, making their way
:15:51. > :15:58.through disused quarries on Portland. But it's not big gain
:15:58. > :16:04.they're after, it's something much more down-to-earth. Jess and John
:16:04. > :16:08.are wanting to seek out and destroy a common garden plant which has
:16:08. > :16:14.gone wild and which is smuggling natural habitats which are
:16:14. > :16:19.important for rare species, such as the Common blue, Adonis blue and
:16:19. > :16:25.Chalkhill blue butterflies. You can see this has gone back in. We need
:16:25. > :16:29.to cut that again. It's growing like a car pet... Money for the
:16:29. > :16:35.project was awarded by a company that distributes money from the
:16:35. > :16:42.landfill tax. Sam from Dorset Wildlife Trust says
:16:42. > :16:48.these garden escapees have become far too successful. We have the
:16:48. > :16:51.limestone grass with the plant here slowly establishing. As it becomes
:16:51. > :16:56.more carpet-like, in the end, we end up with a growth pattern that's
:16:56. > :17:00.much more like a doormat where it's completely blocked out everything
:17:00. > :17:04.underneath it. The disused quarries on Portland are truly a very
:17:04. > :17:08.special place. The ultimate aim is to attract many more green tourists
:17:08. > :17:17.here, creating long-term and sustainable local employment. But
:17:17. > :17:21.for now, there's an awful lot of plants to cut and prune.
:17:21. > :17:24.Those of you who enjoy a drink may have had a tipple over the holidays
:17:24. > :17:29.and decided to give up booze for January. Of course, you could go
:17:29. > :17:35.another way. How about owning a brewery? The Cooperative has been
:17:35. > :17:39.set up to run a micro-brewery in stening and it's looking for
:17:39. > :17:43.members. The men sipping at the round table hope to create some
:17:43. > :17:47.legendary ale. If you have a taste for beer and suspect you have a
:17:47. > :17:50.brewer's touch, they want to hear from you. They formed a Cooperative
:17:50. > :17:55.to run a brewery and they are looking for members. Somebody who's
:17:55. > :17:58.got a bit of time, prepared to invest a few hundred pounds and is
:17:58. > :18:03.enthusiastic about local beers. They can spend the odd afternoon
:18:03. > :18:07.here and there when they've got the time and contribute to making
:18:07. > :18:17.something that's good to drink. This is where the magic happens,
:18:17. > :18:22.the Adur wp valley Cooperative has taken over a micro-brewery -- Adur
:18:22. > :18:26.Valley Cooperative. The Co-op is ready to go into full production
:18:26. > :18:33.soon and there's an open day this weekend at the brewery to show
:18:33. > :18:39.potential members what's involved. All but one is a man with a beard.
:18:39. > :18:44.Women need not apply or should apply? If they like their drink,
:18:44. > :18:48.they are more than welcome to apply. They don't need a beard? No.
:18:48. > :18:53.Cooperative says despite challenging financial conditions,
:18:53. > :18:58.the cask ale market is growing and the brewery aims to expand its
:18:58. > :19:03.customer base beyond Sussex. What one word would you associate
:19:03. > :19:09.with the beer you are creating? Flavour. Relaxation Happiness.
:19:09. > :19:13.Pleasure. Company. Joy. ALL: Cheers...
:19:13. > :19:17.Tough times to open a Cooperative but to keep it going, but good luck
:19:17. > :19:20.to them. Tony is here with the sport. Been Ainsley in a moment?
:19:20. > :19:25.Yes, a big announcement about his racing team which I'll tell you
:19:25. > :19:28.about in a moment. It's the 2 chance we have had to speak to him
:19:28. > :19:33.since the remarkable incident at the World Championships in Perth.
:19:33. > :19:37.He got on the press boat didn't he? He was so angered by the actions of
:19:37. > :19:41.the press boat in getting too close to him that there he was getting in
:19:42. > :19:45.the water, had a go at the boat then jumped back, got disqualified
:19:45. > :19:50.and wasn't a great moment for him. Many said it was out of character?
:19:50. > :19:54.It was, but gave you an insight into what a fearsome competitor and
:19:54. > :19:59.how serious he takes it. Interesting. Yes, it was
:19:59. > :20:03.interesting to see the reaction, he's got to find out if he'll face
:20:03. > :20:07.any sanction, but he had another big announcement today. Aiming to
:20:07. > :20:13.become Britain's most successful Olympian on sailing isn't enough
:20:13. > :20:16.for him, he's planning to put Britain back on the map in the
:20:16. > :20:21.America's Cup. He announced a new team which will take to the water
:20:21. > :20:24.this year. He spoke at length about that incident with the press boat
:20:24. > :20:29.at the World Championships in December too.
:20:29. > :20:33.Ben Ainslie has helped Britain rule the wave force a decade. His
:20:33. > :20:38.Olympic exploits have ensured legendary status. In an Olympic
:20:38. > :20:42.year, he's looking beyond the Games and fixing his sights on the
:20:42. > :20:47.greatest sailing event of them all. The Americas Cup has a great
:20:47. > :20:51.heritage in sailing and history and the moves they've made from mono
:20:51. > :20:58.holes to multi-holes, much more exciting boats, the course and the
:20:59. > :21:03.race is shorter and it makes the boats more physical to sail.
:21:03. > :21:07.Ainslie racing will enter the Americas Cup World Series, an
:21:07. > :21:11.exhibition series designed to attract interest in the main
:21:12. > :21:15.Americas cup. He will also link up with the
:21:15. > :21:18.Oracle team for their defence of the cup next year. Long-term,
:21:18. > :21:27.Ainsley could spearhead a British attempt to win the cup back.
:21:27. > :21:31.To compete in the America's Cup World Series, that is relatively
:21:31. > :21:37.expensive -- inexpensive. We hope to test water and hope to build the
:21:37. > :21:40.team up to be a viable, successful challenger. Upper most are the
:21:40. > :21:45.Olympics in Portland and Weymouth and his outburst in Perth last
:21:45. > :21:52.month suggested the pressure is on. It was very, very unfortunate and
:21:52. > :21:56.obviously I regret what happened but absolutely in 25 years of
:21:56. > :21:59.racing at the highest level I've never seen anything like it and
:21:59. > :22:03.very disappointing for everyone concerned. A tribunal sits next
:22:03. > :22:13.month to decide what, if any sanction Ainsley could face, but it
:22:13. > :22:17.will be an unwelcome distraction in a big year. Certainly a big year
:22:17. > :22:21.for Ben Ainslie in. An hour exSussex will play their first
:22:21. > :22:25.match of the Caribbean 2020 tournament in Antigua. Tonight,
:22:25. > :22:29.they play the Netherlands. Last year, Hampshire reached the
:22:29. > :22:35.final and Sussex are looking forward to the challenge.
:22:35. > :22:39.Bit of an unknown really. We've not played for three months outdoors.
:22:39. > :22:43.People have been training hard in the winter. It will be a good test
:22:43. > :22:47.to see where we are. A few good results and hopefully we can get
:22:47. > :22:54.through to finals day. We have a lot of young players, a
:22:54. > :22:58.lot of people to show what they can do. 2020 is a big part of the
:22:58. > :23:03.English diet now and to give some game time to players who wouldn't
:23:03. > :23:06.naturally get it, that will be really positive for the future of
:23:06. > :23:12.the club. We'll show you some moments from their opening match
:23:12. > :23:18.tomorrow. If you want to listen to the game though, there's commentary
:23:18. > :23:24.on the official website. January is the transfer window in which many
:23:24. > :23:32.of our football clubs are busy recruiting players and Bournemouth
:23:32. > :23:38.are hot on the trail of Tubbs. Tubbs had two bids dismissed.
:23:38. > :23:42.Crawley are top of League Two. Poole Pirates have signed the
:23:42. > :23:46.biggest sponsorship deal in history. They go into this season as
:23:46. > :23:49.defending league champions after reclaiming the crown last year. The
:23:49. > :23:55.three-year deal with local firm Coastal Aluminium will enable the
:23:55. > :23:59.club to move forward with continuity, according to promoter
:23:59. > :24:02.Matt Ford. Tomorrow night, Brian Thompson will be talking to us,
:24:02. > :24:04.back from his round the world voyage.
:24:04. > :24:08.Extraordinary feat that is, fabulous.
:24:08. > :24:13.On to the weather now. Last night, you were saying that you walked a
:24:13. > :24:20.possible five feet from your house to your car? Yes. And thought, my
:24:20. > :24:24.goodness, it's mild. I don't think I put a coat on. It's a degree
:24:24. > :24:30.milder than yesterday. I'll pay more attention to you tonight.
:24:30. > :24:34.want a scarf by the weekend. your thermals yes, if you are out
:24:34. > :24:38.doing football. He won't make the doing football. He won't make the
:24:38. > :24:42.walk! It's getting cold! Certainly is, yes. Lovely pictures
:24:42. > :24:45.though. Carole Fornachon captured the moon before the sun rose in
:24:45. > :24:50.Dorset and Chris Waite took this picture of a lovely calm sea for
:24:50. > :24:54.the moment, but limited brightness in Lepe in Hampshire.
:24:54. > :24:58.Last one from Grahame Howard who captured two blue tits in Weymouth.
:24:58. > :25:01.Very mild temperatures at the moment. It turns colder Friday
:25:01. > :25:10.onwards. This is what is happening with the temperatures. Above
:25:10. > :25:17.seasonal afternoon at the moment, but dipping below on Friday. --
:25:17. > :25:21.above seasonal average at the moment. Below freezing by Friday
:25:21. > :25:25.and Saturday. Enjoy the mild temperatures today and tomorrow.
:25:25. > :25:30.Mild and cloudy tonight. A lot of cloud cover with some breaks. We
:25:30. > :25:39.could have the odd isolated frost pocket where the skies stay clear
:25:39. > :25:42.for the longest period. A mild start tomorrow. A better day than
:25:42. > :25:46.today. More sunshine. The cloud should break up by the afternoon.
:25:46. > :25:53.One or two mist and fog patches first thing, but temperatures very
:25:53. > :25:57.like today will rise above 10 so 10-12 still above the seasonal
:25:57. > :26:02.average, 5-6 above the norm and more cloud tomorrow night. A repeat
:26:02. > :26:06.performance of tonight. We hold on to the cloud cover, one or two
:26:06. > :26:11.clear spells. A spot of drizzle for western areas and temperatures down
:26:11. > :26:15.to around 7-9. It is all change on Thursday. The day will start on a
:26:15. > :26:19.mild note and high pressure still remains in charge. Once this cold
:26:19. > :26:22.front sinks south and eastwards, the air behind it will be a lot
:26:22. > :26:26.clearer. There will be cooler air coming in from the north, so a
:26:26. > :26:32.cooler feel to things, Thursday night onwards. Frosty on Friday.
:26:32. > :26:35.Maybe some mist and fog patches first thing, but it's an improving
:26:35. > :26:38.picture. Lovely sunny conditions and lovely on Saturday, although
:26:38. > :26:42.there may be more cloud on Saturday than Friday and this is what is out
:26:42. > :26:46.in the wings. There is a little uncertainty to this weather front
:26:46. > :26:50.which will head towards us on Sunday. Maybe some wintry showers
:26:50. > :26:53.on the cards. One or two sunny spells will develop tomorrow after
:26:53. > :26:58.a cloudy start. The rain heads south on Thursday, behind it the
:26:58. > :27:02.cooler air and frosty starts on Friday and Saturday. Getting nippy!
:27:02. > :27:10.Winter's coming! Well, for the weekend anyway. Tomorrow, very
:27:10. > :27:16.excited because Warhorse is out at the moment. Sunday night Leicester
:27:16. > :27:19.Square, they got the horse on the red camp et. We'll do our take on
:27:19. > :27:24.it tomorrow, not a three-hour version but two interesting stories,
:27:24. > :27:28.one tomorrow night, both horses are called Warrior, had a huge role in
