:00:00. > :00:00.in Ukraine. That is all from the BBC News at six. It is goodbye from me

:00:00. > :01:00.and You express no remorse for the

:01:01. > :01:13.extreme terror caused. The judges words as he jailed an activist for

:01:14. > :01:18.six years. It was to do with the blackmailing action which included

:01:19. > :01:25.the Ashes of one man's mother being stolen. They used extreme criminal

:01:26. > :01:31.measures knowing the fear and terror they would inspire on the

:01:32. > :01:38.individuals and firms they targeted. The Hampshire `based leaders of the

:01:39. > :01:43.campaign were arrested. The Quartz walked the jailing in 2009 would

:01:44. > :01:49.prove a deterrent but it was not. Previously involved in lawful road

:01:50. > :01:56.test here, Debbie Vincent now came to the fore. Now the public face of

:01:57. > :02:04.the group, she went on the BBC promising to up the ante. People are

:02:05. > :02:11.frustrated over the action `` in action of the government and the

:02:12. > :02:18.vivisection industry. There will be more direct clandestinely action.

:02:19. > :02:33.Protesters who cheered her on her way to jail said the use of

:02:34. > :02:39.conspiracy charges in these cases is not helping animal rights. The

:02:40. > :02:43.defence team said that as a former male soldier who had undergone a sex

:02:44. > :02:52.change, she would find present extremely harsh. She showed no

:02:53. > :03:01.remorse for what he described as appalling acts. She was sentenced to

:03:02. > :03:05.six years in prison. Despite the warnings of traffic chaos the

:03:06. > :03:14.eastern motorists appear to have experienced only slight delays. This

:03:15. > :03:22.was the road near Chichester but it took several hours to get past

:03:23. > :03:29.Stonehenge. There was disruption in rail through Southampton because

:03:30. > :03:34.lines are being replaced. There are hopes the decent good weather will

:03:35. > :03:41.give the tourism industry a boost. In Worthing one of the Buddhist

:03:42. > :03:47.attractions reopens this weekend. Your first ice rain of the season is

:03:48. > :03:54.definitely worth the photo. That bleak winter is finally over. The

:03:55. > :03:58.fun fair arrived on Worthing seafront today. The sunshine was

:03:59. > :04:06.easy at times but perfectly clear was people's relief. It is just nice

:04:07. > :04:12.to have a bit of sun, it has been so wet and depressing. This time last

:04:13. > :04:20.year it was absolutely freezing so yes, it has been nice. At this will

:04:21. > :04:26.tell most of the rooms are booked. Bookings are up 30% on last year, I

:04:27. > :04:30.think that is bound to quite a few things, there is a bit more

:04:31. > :04:35.positivity out there, less doom and gloom after a terrible winter. The

:04:36. > :04:44.sun has come out which is making people, right. At the end of the

:04:45. > :04:51.pier there are finishing touches to the renovation of the pavilion. A

:04:52. > :04:54.new attraction for the town's 2 billion visitors. 3000 people are

:04:55. > :05:00.employed in Worthing's tourist industry. They are hoping for

:05:01. > :05:06.brighter times. It was very hard last year. A lot of planning goes

:05:07. > :05:13.into voluntary things as well so it is nice to see them actually

:05:14. > :05:19.happened. It has clouded over this afternoon and it is a bit cooler but

:05:20. > :05:31.the beach is still an attraction. For the tourist industry the summer

:05:32. > :05:34.begins this weekend. The Green Party MP Caroline Lucas has been cleared

:05:35. > :05:37.of public order offences following her arrest during an anti`fracking

:05:38. > :05:40.protests in the West Sussex village of Balcombe last summer. Speaking

:05:41. > :05:43.after the verdict, the Brighton MP said "oppressive policing" was

:05:44. > :05:46.eroding the right to protest. Sussex Police say the force had faced a

:05:47. > :05:55.difficult balancing act in policing the demonstrations. Jon Hunt

:05:56. > :06:02.reports. The not guilty anti`fracking demonstrators, leaving

:06:03. > :06:05.court to cheers and applause. Caroline Lucas says today's

:06:06. > :06:12.judgement is not the cause for celebration. Protest is the

:06:13. > :06:17.lifeblood of democracy. We are deeply concerned that the right to

:06:18. > :06:29.protest has been undermined by oppressive policing in an attempt to

:06:30. > :06:32.silence dissent. Caroline Lucas was arrested last August when she linked

:06:33. > :06:40.arms with demonstrators and sat in the road. The town's case was that

:06:41. > :06:44.she had breached restrictions on where protesters could assemble but

:06:45. > :06:52.the district judge ruled none of them were made away of the

:06:53. > :06:57.restrictions and was not a wilful obstruction of the highway. The

:06:58. > :07:03.defendants are now considering a complaint to Sussex Police. It is

:07:04. > :07:08.too early to say what action we might take but I felt the policing

:07:09. > :07:11.on the day was disproportionate and unnecessary. It was an entirely

:07:12. > :07:17.peaceful protest and we had every right to be there. The police said

:07:18. > :07:26.their priority in the operation was safety. The say they worked with all

:07:27. > :07:31.sides to enable them to meet their peaceful and lawful objectives,

:07:32. > :07:37.whether the today commercial activities or protest. The actions

:07:38. > :07:42.of Caroline Lucas have drawn praise and criticism. It is great she is

:07:43. > :07:48.getting involved in an actual issue in her constituency. I do not think

:07:49. > :07:56.as the member of Parliament she should have gone in there. That is

:07:57. > :08:06.what MPs are for. Sussex Police say the policing involved a difficult

:08:07. > :08:10.balancing act. The ports mouth man has been banned from driving for one

:08:11. > :08:18.year after using his wife's disabled parking badge to park illegally in

:08:19. > :08:23.the city. Proposals to build 75 luxury holiday chalets in woodlands

:08:24. > :08:29.in the South Downs National have alarmed people living near the site.

:08:30. > :08:32.It has been backed by the Forestry Commission which says it would

:08:33. > :08:38.provide a boost to the local economy. Residents say it would

:08:39. > :08:44.increase traffic and ruined a peaceful setting. A tranquil corner

:08:45. > :08:50.of the West Sussex countryside but with plans to build a holiday

:08:51. > :08:54.village of up to 75 wouldn't cabins, locals bear the peaceful

:08:55. > :09:03.melody of birdsong could be a thing of the past. What is the commercial

:09:04. > :09:09.company doing building a rational development using what we thought

:09:10. > :09:15.was the protected public asset? It is a joint venture with the Forestry

:09:16. > :09:20.Commission. The say they want to see more people benefiting and enjoying

:09:21. > :09:25.woods and forests. There would be less than one cabin per acre of land

:09:26. > :09:30.and they would still keep full public access. There has not yet

:09:31. > :09:36.been a planning application but the authority say that if and when they

:09:37. > :09:40.do it will be open to a school consultation. It is a beautiful

:09:41. > :09:48.forest, I do not think it is necessary. Forests like this are few

:09:49. > :09:58.and far between. The traffic will be terrible. Developers say cabin like

:09:59. > :10:02.these could each bring ?24,000 to the Sussex economy every year but

:10:03. > :10:16.locals worried the riches of the countryside are being neglected to

:10:17. > :10:19.boost the coffers. Still,: Your bank holiday weather forecast and did you

:10:20. > :10:26.guess the mystery object? All will be revealed. There's been the

:10:27. > :10:29.biggest increase in the number of people in Berkshire getting scarlet

:10:30. > :10:32.fever in seven years. Scarlet fever is a bacterial illness that causes a

:10:33. > :10:36.distinctive pink`red rash. 150 patients have been diagnosed so far

:10:37. > :10:39.this year ` up more than a quarter on last year's figures. Health

:10:40. > :10:51.authorities have stressed that they will not go on outbreak alert. An

:10:52. > :10:55.operation is underway to protect Dorset woodland from damage

:10:56. > :11:03.including the risk of arson. Last year there were 111 fires. Operation

:11:04. > :11:09.heathland involves high visibility patrols and public education

:11:10. > :11:13.measures. A lot of ours are making plans for this weekend but imagine

:11:14. > :11:19.you had to put extra thought into every query you planned to go. That

:11:20. > :11:29.is what one charity for disabled table says is the problem for their

:11:30. > :11:42.members. Over half of the tourist attractions assessed did not have

:11:43. > :11:45.wheelchair access. Now to Finn's Country ` Roger Finn's weekly report

:11:46. > :11:49.from the countryside. This week he's in Dorset with tales of lions, snow

:11:50. > :11:52.leopards, and chalk streams. Roger's linked up with one of the world's

:11:53. > :11:56.top wildlife cameramen ` Hugh Miles. After a long career filming all over

:11:57. > :11:59.the planet, Hugh has settled near Wimborne, where he's fallen in love

:12:00. > :12:04.with the River Allen and the wide variety of creatures that live in

:12:05. > :12:09.it. The source of the river Allen, near the village of Monkton up

:12:10. > :12:13.Wimborne. It flows for just 13 miles and one man has come to know every

:12:14. > :12:22.inch of it. Hugh Miles has just made a film about the Allen with the

:12:23. > :12:28.title, Liquid Gold. Pure fresh water, more valuable than gold, we

:12:29. > :12:35.can live without gold but they would die without water. This is

:12:36. > :12:41.Britain's only native freshwater crayfish and the River Allen is one

:12:42. > :12:45.of its most important refuges. Hugh has a particular passion for fish,

:12:46. > :12:48.but his career as a cameraman took off with much larger prey. In the

:12:49. > :12:56.1970s he joined the team on David Attenborough's Life on Earth. We

:12:57. > :13:02.went to Africa to film a lion hunt. They had tried twice already to get

:13:03. > :13:07.the successful lion hunt but we kneeled it big time. Got a double

:13:08. > :13:20.kill in one day. It was a great start to my career. The lionesses

:13:21. > :13:33.have time to select their pre`. `` pray. That is the beast. That is the

:13:34. > :13:42.one that filmed the Lions? Yes, I think I am rusty than the camera is.

:13:43. > :13:48.The advantage of the wooden tripod is it can be camouflaged unlike the

:13:49. > :13:57.modern ones. There was often a risk in getting this close. I have been

:13:58. > :14:03.lucky. I have had two new hips replaced as a result of chasing snow

:14:04. > :14:08.leopards up in the mountains. It must be different here in Dorset. I

:14:09. > :14:15.goal I have lived here 30 years. Right on my doorstep it is full of

:14:16. > :14:18.wildlife. Trying to make a difference to get people to

:14:19. > :14:29.understand how nature works and what is important about nature. We head

:14:30. > :14:32.down the river We head off down the river to where it flows into the

:14:33. > :14:50.town of Wimborne. And we quickly discover the damage left by this

:14:51. > :14:55.winter's floods. There will be a lot more weed growth which means more

:14:56. > :15:02.insect life and that is good for fish. I goal what makes this river

:15:03. > :15:09.special for you? It is the chalk stream and there are only 160 in

:15:10. > :15:13.Europe. England only has 5% and this is one of the best examples of all.

:15:14. > :15:16.Hugh is a big supporter of the Dorset Wildlife Trust which is

:15:17. > :15:20.working to maintain the river. Because the river Allen is

:15:21. > :15:28.vulnerable. Dorset wildlife trust have plans to enhance this habitat.

:15:29. > :15:33.We need to be allowed to do more to improve the habitat for wildlife,

:15:34. > :15:39.the insects, the fish life and then the waters and birds along the

:15:40. > :15:43.river. It is becoming increasingly important for the community and my

:15:44. > :15:47.hope is that we will win the battle and this River will continue to

:15:48. > :15:56.thrive for many years to come. Like macro that was so beautifully shot

:15:57. > :16:06.and so calming. Last week Roger showed ours the mystery object from

:16:07. > :16:15.the rural life Museum in Surrey. So, here he is with the answer and the

:16:16. > :16:21.next puzzler. Last week's was the potato masher. He lives this week's

:16:22. > :16:40.we will reveal the answer next week. `` here is this week's now onto the

:16:41. > :16:48.sport. The Bournemouth boss said his side have to pick up maximum points

:16:49. > :16:58.in their final four games. Sheffield Wednesday are currently two points

:16:59. > :17:07.behind in six. Lewis Brabant has not trained all week because of injury.

:17:08. > :17:11.The levels of performance have been so high and in a short period we

:17:12. > :17:17.have improved so much, that is the only surprise, that it has come so

:17:18. > :17:25.quickly, I never doubted we would get there. The challenge is to

:17:26. > :17:33.maintain. Like macro in the championship reading face a tough

:17:34. > :17:46.fixture away to Wigan. MK dons and Swindon are both away from warm. And

:17:47. > :17:49.in league two Oxford host your city. Eastleigh are on the brink of

:17:50. > :17:53.winning promotion to the Conference Premier League for the first time in

:17:54. > :17:56.the club's history. After their 1`0 win on Tuesday against Dover, the

:17:57. > :17:59.Spitfires need just one more point and are at home to Basingtoke

:18:00. > :18:02.tomorrow. A draw would also secure Richard Hill's men the league title.

:18:03. > :18:04.And remember the Olympic torch relay? We are doing something

:18:05. > :18:11.similar head of the British Commonwealth Games in Glasgow this

:18:12. > :18:28.summer. It will visit Southampton in June. It will be exciting times and

:18:29. > :18:31.big crowds are expected. Thank you very much. Whether it's Flappy Bird,

:18:32. > :18:35.Call of Duty or Candy Crush Saga, it seems we're spoilt for choice with

:18:36. > :18:39.games you can play at home or on the move. But there are those who never

:18:40. > :18:42.fell out of love with old`style video games ` and some of those 90s

:18:43. > :18:45.arcade favourites have become collector's items. This weekend, a

:18:46. > :18:48.special event in Worthing will bring together one of the largest retro

:18:49. > :18:52.collections in the world. Caroline and I got to grips with one of the

:18:53. > :18:56.pinball machines earlier and you can see how we got on in a moment.

:18:57. > :19:06.First, Chrissy Sturt has been to meet the event organiser. The 1980s

:19:07. > :19:13.and games go electronic. New and cool, this was the species we to pet

:19:14. > :19:18.man against machine, boy against boy and girl against girl. What was once

:19:19. > :19:23.cool soon became dated and forgotten but some never do out of these games

:19:24. > :19:32.and suddenly they are vintage and valuable. This is the defender made

:19:33. > :19:38.in 1980 it is regarded as one of the all`time greatest video games. It is

:19:39. > :19:47.super hard and had its own dedicated control panel. The artwork itself is

:19:48. > :19:55.also really iconic. Anyone who knows their stuff will instantly recognise

:19:56. > :20:01.Defender. This man's home is a shrine to the arcade and all the

:20:02. > :20:06.family are hooked. It is something I have had to get used to. For the

:20:07. > :20:11.seven years we have been together they have been gradually coming more

:20:12. > :20:22.and more into the house and I am just used to it now. Will has even

:20:23. > :20:32.got his own mini arcade devoted to pinball. I'd macro the intensity on

:20:33. > :20:36.your face is really something. It is really an intense game. When you are

:20:37. > :20:42.in the zone you are connecting to the machine. When you play a really

:20:43. > :20:50.good game it is great when the machine starts flashing at you. How

:20:51. > :20:55.do you stop it completely taking over the house? We had the rule

:20:56. > :21:04.there would not be any more than six pinball machines. I think we have

:21:05. > :21:12.four. He has been convinced to keep another two machines in the house.

:21:13. > :21:17.Is this a hobby or an obsession? More of an obsession. I go to bed

:21:18. > :21:25.thinking about them. And you have an understanding wife? Yellow macro she

:21:26. > :21:30.has to be. If you have not got the space for one of these fool size

:21:31. > :21:35.machines or a partner sympathetic enough to let you buy one, these

:21:36. > :21:40.days you can go online and download any of the classic games, and play

:21:41. > :21:47.them for free. But small does not work for everyone. I have the dream

:21:48. > :21:54.of an arcade at the bottom of the garden. Jessica would be happy as

:21:55. > :22:01.well to three the room up for our little boy. I have a dream one day

:22:02. > :22:10.to build a really super cool arcade. Have a there fridge and live there

:22:11. > :22:14.forever really. We have a beautiful pinball machine here in the studio

:22:15. > :22:28.this evening. We have lowered well away from his desk. Tell me what is

:22:29. > :22:34.happening at the South Coast Slam? It is on for play all weekend. It is

:22:35. > :22:38.a massive arcade where people can play their hearts out. How would

:22:39. > :22:47.something like this machine go for? Yellow macro around ?3500, quite a

:22:48. > :22:56.prize. This is for the children's charity. All the money raised goes

:22:57. > :23:05.directly to them. I will have to find another newsroom novice to play

:23:06. > :23:15.against. Welcome to the South Today battle of the novices. Caroline

:23:16. > :23:52.versus Lewis. # Pinball Wizard. Game over. And the

:23:53. > :23:58.winner is... Caroline. Yes! I cannot tell you how much fun that was.

:23:59. > :24:04.South Coast Slam runs on Saturday and Sunday in wording. You can get

:24:05. > :24:10.more about that and the charity it is supporting online. It was hugely

:24:11. > :24:20.addictive. Yellow macro yes, for you, you won! It might be something

:24:21. > :24:31.I could challenge you to later. Now let's move on to the weather. Two

:24:32. > :24:40.good days and two not so good days. Your first weather picture. This was

:24:41. > :24:44.a misty start to the day. That this photograph of a butterfly in

:24:45. > :24:55.Hampshire. And a very obliging sworn. You can send all your weather

:24:56. > :25:01.pictures to us via e`mail. It will be a cool and clear night. Perhaps a

:25:02. > :25:08.touch of frost out in the countryside under clear skies. One

:25:09. > :25:12.or two stray showers will tend to fade away. Temperatures will fall

:25:13. > :25:20.away under the clearing skies. Temperatures in Bucks more likely to

:25:21. > :25:25.have a pocket of frost first thing tomorrow morning. Mile along the

:25:26. > :25:30.south coast. It will not be wall`to`wall sunshine throughout the

:25:31. > :25:36.day. Easy sunshine in places. Temperatures reaching a high of 14

:25:37. > :25:42.or 15 Celsius. In some areas today we reach the high of 18 degrees but

:25:43. > :25:47.the wind tomorrow will be fairly light and under the clear skies

:25:48. > :25:53.tomorrow night he will do it again. There will be a widespread frost. In

:25:54. > :25:59.the towns and cities the low just seven Celsius. In the countryside

:26:00. > :26:05.down to freezing. On Saturday high`pressure still hanging on in

:26:06. > :26:09.there. We will see a decent day with plenty of sunshine and variable and

:26:10. > :26:16.minds of Cloud, possibly more during the afternoon. The bank holiday

:26:17. > :26:22.weekend at the wall, two good days and two not so good days. Friday and

:26:23. > :26:29.Saturday dry hot rain from Sunday onwards. Monday not too bad, the

:26:30. > :26:34.mixture of sunny spells and the odd scattered showers. Here is the

:26:35. > :26:38.outlook for the rest of the week. Some high cloud feeding in during

:26:39. > :26:46.the afternoon which will burn the sunshine easy. Sunday and Monday

:26:47. > :26:50.will burn fairly wet and windy. Low pressure will move in from the new

:26:51. > :26:57.continent on Sunday and that rain will stay with us on and off on

:26:58. > :27:09.Monday. It is the weekend of two haves. Friday and Saturday the best.

:27:10. > :27:14.As ever, there is a fool five day forecast available on our website.

:27:15. > :27:22.The best day of the weekend is Saturday. Now, Lewis, what are you

:27:23. > :27:29.doing this weekend? I am joining a group of cyclists to cycle to Villa

:27:30. > :27:44.Park. 106 miles. A good weather forecast for that! That is all from

:27:45. > :27:48.us for this evening. Have a lovely Easter. Goodbye. Good evening.
