:00:09. > :00:08.Hello. Now,

:00:09. > :00:12.Hello. Good evening.

:00:13. > :00:14.A teenager has been taken to hospital after falling 15 feet from

:00:15. > :00:18.a fairground ride on Worthing seafront. The girl fell from the

:00:19. > :00:23.Rocker ride, which was in motion at the time, shortly before 9:30 last

:00:24. > :00:26.night. Police and paramedics were called to the scene and the girl was

:00:27. > :00:35.taken to the Royal Sussex County Hospital in Brighton. Sean Killick

:00:36. > :00:43.reports. An official safety inspection is

:00:44. > :00:48.being carried out on the Work right. It is run by an experienced

:00:49. > :00:52.contractor. Sussex Police say at 9:30pm a teenage girl fell 15 feet

:00:53. > :00:58.from the ride, it was in motion at the time. The police were here and

:00:59. > :01:03.the ambulance was here quickly and I believe she was taken to hospital. I

:01:04. > :01:10.believe she has hurt her wrist and ankle. The ride is closed for the

:01:11. > :01:14.time being. Obviously, the ride operators are cooperating with the

:01:15. > :01:19.council and giving full cooperation. Is very sign of any fault with the

:01:20. > :01:23.ride? There is no sign at this stage. All the rights in the fair

:01:24. > :01:29.were checked by officers before they were set up and they do have up to

:01:30. > :01:37.date safety certificates. The other rides began operating has planned,

:01:38. > :01:41.but the Rock remains closed. The council later said that the Health

:01:42. > :01:44.and Safety Executive said there was nothing mechanically wrong with the

:01:45. > :01:48.ride and it will reopen tomorrow. Meanwhile, the injured girl has been

:01:49. > :01:51.released from hospital. Health campaigners in Hampshire say

:01:52. > :01:55.the county is a hotspot for asbestos`related disease. Today in

:01:56. > :01:59.Portsmouth a group abseiled down the Spinnaker Tower to raise awareness

:02:00. > :02:02.of incurable asbestos`linked cancer. They say it is especially prevalent

:02:03. > :02:13.in the area because of historical heavy industry. Rob Powell has more.

:02:14. > :02:20.The diseases caused by the inhalation of asbestos linger. It is

:02:21. > :02:27.a lung cancer caused purely from asbestos exposure. It lies in the

:02:28. > :02:30.core of the lung and it can lay there for many years, before it

:02:31. > :02:35.actually sort of rears its ugly head. Campaigners say industries

:02:36. > :02:43.like dock working make Portsmouth something of a hotspot. The NHS say

:02:44. > :02:46.there are 40 new cases each in Portsmouth. Dock workers who loaded

:02:47. > :02:53.asbestos sacks, they split open, and they would be showered, like a

:02:54. > :02:57.snowstorm, really. They would come home with that on their overalls.

:02:58. > :02:59.Today, Portsmouth Spinnaker Tower was the challenge as doctors,

:03:00. > :03:02.campaigners and lawyers all abseiled down trying to raise money and

:03:03. > :03:10.awareness for this yet incurable disease.

:03:11. > :03:15.Christian groups on Oxford's Cowley Road have come together this morning

:03:16. > :03:18.in a show of faith despite being banned from putting on a religious

:03:19. > :03:21.play. The churches were told they couldn't perform a Passion play,

:03:22. > :03:28.which is a re`enactment of the last few days of Jesus' life, after a mix

:03:29. > :03:35.up at Oxford City Council. Despite the setback, around 40 people still

:03:36. > :03:39.took part in a special walk. A little bit disappointed. But at

:03:40. > :03:42.least we can do the walk. It would have been an extraordinary public

:03:43. > :03:46.witness to the central story of our faith. But it was a good crowd for

:03:47. > :03:54.the walk. We gathered to do another prayer walk which we hope people get

:03:55. > :03:58.to join in with. `` we hope people will be able to join in with.

:03:59. > :04:01.Onto sport, and it's been a crucial day in the fight for playoff places

:04:02. > :04:04.for our sides. In the Championship, Reading slipped up at Wigan, beaten

:04:05. > :04:07.3`0 which means they drop out of the playoff places. They're replaced by

:04:08. > :04:10.Brighton, who got a late equaliser at Huddersfield. And Bournemouth

:04:11. > :04:13.mist the chance to catch up ground on them both, they were beaten 4`2

:04:14. > :04:16.at home by Sheffield Wednesday, with two goals for the visitors in the

:04:17. > :04:19.last few minutes. In League One, Swindon scored a last`minute winner

:04:20. > :04:23.at Coventry, but MK Dons went down 1`0 to Port Vale. And in League Two,

:04:24. > :04:26.Oxford United dropped out of the playoff positions, beaten by York

:04:27. > :04:28.City, who replace them in the playoff spot.

:04:29. > :04:32.In speedway, it's a busy day for the Poole Pirates and the Swindon Robins

:04:33. > :04:35.as they face each other twice in the Elite League. The first showdown was

:04:36. > :04:39.at Poole earlier today, where the Pirates won by 56 to 34. They take

:04:40. > :04:44.that lead into tonight's tie in Swindon, which will decide the Elite

:04:45. > :04:48.Shield winners. Tapes up at 8pm. Glorious weather today. This was

:04:49. > :04:53.Freshwater Bay on the Isle of Wight, thanks to Martin Perry for that. And

:04:54. > :04:57.many of you sent us bluebells. This was Pamphill in Dorset, taken by

:04:58. > :04:58.Mike Ludwig. So what does the rest of the holiday weekend hold? Ian

:04:59. > :05:04.Fergusson has the details. Hello. Another fine evening to come,

:05:05. > :05:10.but that will lead us into clear skies. A chilly night. Many places

:05:11. > :05:15.will see frost. Temperatures as low as freezing in one or two spots. Two

:05:16. > :05:19.or three Celsius will be widespread. A chilly start tomorrow. It will be

:05:20. > :05:24.a day of sunny spells, variable cloud. The cloud could bring one or

:05:25. > :05:27.two showers through the afternoon. Particuarly down to parts of Sussex,

:05:28. > :05:33.there may be one or two getting further westwards, but many of you,

:05:34. > :05:39.I am sure, will enjoy a dry day. Moderately breezy, temperatures of

:05:40. > :05:45.12 to 14 Celsius. Beyond that, some clouds may bring some rain, it will

:05:46. > :05:54.turn heavy in places. You will bring some rain.

:05:55. > :06:09.I hope you can join us at quarter past ten.

:06:10. > :06:14.Today we have seen temperatures rising if Scotland but again

:06:15. > :06:18.tonight, with the clear skies and light wind temperatures will fall

:06:19. > :06:22.sharply, and for many of us, we are looking at a touch of frost. The

:06:23. > :06:25.satellite picture tells a story nicely. This belt of cloud is

:06:26. > :06:30.sitting in the far north-west of Scotland, we have had this cloud

:06:31. > :06:33.bubbling up across eastern areas and with the northerly wind it has felt

:06:34. > :06:36.cold in East Anglia. That cloud is going to melt away, we will get an

:06:37. > :06:39.easterly breeze picking the cloud back in again later in the night in

:06:40. > :06:44.eastern areas and we still have this cloud and rain in the far north-west

:06:45. > :06:45.of Scotland, but for most we will have clear sky, light
