:01:43. > :01:44.office and were told he would get back to us, but so far therd has

:01:45. > :01:52.been no comment. The family of a Hampshire m`n whose

:01:56. > :01:58.the knowledge he was doing what he loved. 23`year`old James Male from

:02:42. > :02:47.Many of us rely on the Internet now, and regard it as another essential

:02:48. > :02:50.service in our homes. But a mother of three from Compton in Berkshire

:02:51. > :02:53.is still waiting for her phone line to be connected by BT more than five

:02:54. > :02:57.months after moving into her new home. BT says the problem is out of

:02:58. > :03:00.its control but Sarah Diggens says she feels badly let down and just

:03:01. > :03:03.wants it sorted out. Sarah Diggens loves her new home.

:03:04. > :03:07.Her youngest son Cohen has lore space to play, while her older boys,

:03:08. > :03:10.aged nine and 12, have more space to study. But they are having to go

:03:11. > :03:14.elsewhere to do homework because there is no Internet access. A

:03:15. > :03:20.couple of times my middle son, he has brought home paper copids so he

:03:21. > :03:26.is able to take that in. But they do mind maths on the Internet, so he is

:03:27. > :03:34.missing out on that. Even shmple things, like when I used to have it

:03:35. > :03:37.I could look up cake recipes. Sarah asked for her phone line to be

:03:38. > :03:41.connected before she moved hn December. She paid ?200 but it still

:03:42. > :04:00.hasn't happened. In a statelent BT said:

:04:01. > :04:04.Sarah also received a text from BT informing her the delay was down to

:04:05. > :04:07.the council. But West Berkshire Council say this

:04:08. > :04:10.wasn't the case, saying it had received a number of notices from BT

:04:11. > :04:16.regarding work in Compton and had not blocked any of them. I don't

:04:17. > :04:23.want excuses. I just want a connection date, to be switched on

:04:24. > :04:27.and up and running, and an `pology. While BT and the council bl`me each

:04:28. > :04:29.other, Sarah and her boys are in the middle, still with no idea when it

:04:30. > :04:38.will be connected. Later tonight, we'll find ott who'll

:04:39. > :04:41.be representing us as MEPs hn Europe, when the results of the

:04:42. > :04:44.European elections are annotnced. Counting of ballot papers is now

:04:45. > :04:46.under way for the South`East region in Southampton, and for the

:04:47. > :04:48.South`West region in Poole. There's a special programme covering the

:04:49. > :05:02.results on BBC One at 11:00pm. Many of us have seen sunny spells

:05:03. > :05:05.today and this evening conthnues on a fairly pleasant note. Bright skies

:05:06. > :05:11.out there which gives way to clear spells overnight. We do start to see

:05:12. > :05:15.an area of showery rain working into eastern areas. Lows tonight are

:05:16. > :05:22.eight to 12 Celsius and mist or fog is a possibility. Some of us start

:05:23. > :05:25.tomorrow with showers and wd will see more in the way of heavx and

:05:26. > :05:28.perhaps thundery showers developing. Still, sunny spells at times and

:05:29. > :05:32.highs between 15 and 17 Celsius The rest of this week looks unsdttled.

:05:33. > :05:35.We are going to see showers and offer more persistent spells of

:05:36. > :05:47.rain. Enjoy the rest of your bank holiday.
