:03:40. > :03:42.an appetite for regeneration. It does really need doing up
:03:43. > :03:46.because it's, yeah, a lot worse than I've been here
:03:47. > :03:51.for nearly 50 years and it hasn t I think Arun Council needs
:03:52. > :04:09.to invest in Bognor. Joining me is the Chief Executive of

:04:51. > :04:54.They are a prestigious developer and couldn't make it work over seven or
:04:55. > :05:00.eight years. What makes you think the council can? The market has
:05:01. > :05:05.changed. We have had conversations with other developers and wd believe
:05:06. > :05:09.we can get the very best for Bognor Regis residents now than we could
:05:10. > :05:17.previously. Critics say it could be an expensive disaster. It is a big
:05:18. > :05:22.risk to take on the cost. Lhning permissions are a big risk for
:05:23. > :05:28.developers and that can put them off bidding at all or giving a worse
:05:29. > :05:33.bed. So we are trying to relove the risk for everybody and get the best
:05:34. > :05:39.price for the taxpayer. Another risk is yet bringing the developdr
:05:40. > :05:46.unpopular with local people. People do not want a multiplex are lots of
:05:47. > :05:50.flats. What we now is we must have a good solid anchor tenant. Whether
:05:51. > :05:56.that is a cinema, hotel, restaurant, it needs to bring in fitful enough
:05:57. > :06:01.that we have a viable time over financially. The council has worked
:06:02. > :06:08.very hard on not increasing council tax. We do not want to add ` burden
:06:09. > :06:12.to the taxpayer therefore wd do not want to build any white elephants,
:06:13. > :06:17.just things that work. Will consultation be genuine? Certainly.

:15:11. > :15:15.Unison says it is doing all it can to support staff. We are working
:15:16. > :15:20.with the council to come up with ways to minimise compulsory
:15:21. > :15:24.redundancies. Voluntary solttions and we are strengthening
:15:25. > :15:27.redeployment processes. People at risk of redundancies can be slotted
:15:28. > :15:31.back into vacancies in the council. This evening, councillors also
:15:32. > :15:35.decide on a controversial nhght`time tax to bars and clubs serving
:15:36. > :15:42.alcohol past midnight. They would have to pay up to ?4440 per year.
