:16:29. > :16:33.ragged verges on that six mhle stretch, put on a much bettdr
:16:34. > :16:37.service and basically make ht safer and more enjoyable for families to
:16:38. > :16:42.cycle on. It is already poptlar but we want to make sure it is
:16:43. > :16:53.absolutely safe. That project means giving more than millions `` more
:16:54. > :16:58.than ?1 million for what is essentially a road surfacing
:16:59. > :17:01.project. That is not the case. This is not something that Hampshire
:17:02. > :17:06.County Council were planning to do anyway. We made sure of that. What
:17:07. > :17:11.we are doing has nothing to do with normal routine run of the mhll
:17:12. > :17:17.maintenance, but everything to do with making adjustments to the road
:17:18. > :17:23.to line markings on the road, to signage so it makes it apparent that
:17:24. > :17:28.it is a quiet lane for cyclhng and careful driving, for everyone to
:17:29. > :17:33.enjoy. It is an extremely pretty six mile stretch. You had a schdme that
:17:34. > :17:37.you bid for money and drew tp proposals, the government s`id they
:17:38. > :17:42.would give you the money and you backed down on it. Isn't it all
:17:43. > :17:47.rather embarrassing that thd survey hodgepodge of ideas you got at the

:18:44. > :18:46.is no guarantee from the Department of Transport that when you present a
:18:47. > :18:49.project that they will give it to. They have merely given us the green
:18:50. > :18:55.light to make the case which is what we are doing. It is part of our job
:18:56. > :18:59.and part of our role to look. We have not managed to succeed with
:19:00. > :19:03.that project for good and sdnsible reasons, so we will look at other
:19:04. > :19:07.ones. It is not a hodgepodgd sure something which has been cobbled
:19:08. > :19:11.together, far from it. A lot of careful thought has gone into every
:19:12. > :19:14.single one of the projects that we have decided, to approach the
