:00:48. > :00:48.don't realise what people are going through.

:00:49. > :00:51.He just continued being rude, walked off.

:00:52. > :00:54.I've gone to pack up all my bedding and whatnot,

:01:38. > :01:40.gentleman's property on the outside of the fire exit becoming wet.

:01:41. > :01:43.Debenhams have apologised to Russel Allen and provided him

:01:44. > :01:48.But there have been threats against members of their staff

:01:49. > :01:51.and one local councillor, who has been homeless himself,

:01:52. > :01:55.This isn't just about this incident - it's

:01:56. > :02:00.And it's an opportunity for us to raise awareness for the homeless

:02:01. > :02:04.and hopefully bring the business sector a bit closer to working

:02:05. > :02:12.with us for the greater understanding of the homeless.

:03:23. > :03:25.Mary Edwards isn't saying goodbye just yet,

:03:26. > :03:27.but come the New Year this will no longer be one

:03:28. > :03:33.That doesn't stop her noting the emergency department here hasn't

:03:34. > :03:36.been spruced up under the last three Prime Ministers.

:03:37. > :03:40.Really we ought to be investing in new lifts so we didn't

:03:41. > :03:46.have to keep repairing, but each lift is probably up to ?250,000 and

:03:47. > :03:52.at the moment we can't prioritise that above other things.

:03:53. > :03:54.One priority will be keeping overseas staff,

:03:55. > :03:57.many of whom have been unsettled by the past year's events.

:03:58. > :04:00.So what does she say to those negotiating Brexit?

:04:01. > :04:03.I would be asking them to do their best to try and

:04:04. > :04:07.make sure we don't destabilise those people who work in an

:04:08. > :04:12.We need staff from overseas, and we need them to feel

:04:13. > :04:16.Soon there will be a new picture hanging here and, after

:04:20. > :04:23.in Australia and the US, on her retirement Mary Edwards

:04:24. > :04:31.for one remains convinced the NHS is still a bit of a bargain.

:04:35. > :04:37.to send off Nathan Redmond in last night's 4-1 home

:04:38. > :04:40.defeat against Spurs, despite their manager Claude Puel's

:04:44. > :04:46.Redmond was red carded for this challenge on Dele Alli,

:04:47. > :04:51.Saints had taken the early lead in the game through

:04:52. > :04:55.But though Harry Kane missed the penalty awarded

:04:59. > :05:06.Now if you've ever tried to hula hoop you may have found

:05:07. > :05:10.But a little girl from Oxford has really mastered it.

:05:13. > :05:17.Thousands of pounds have now been pledged, for a charity

:05:40. > :05:44.I have never really had people watching me doing hula

:05:45. > :05:51.hooping, I have never really had the encouragement for it.

:05:52. > :05:53.I do it but I just never thought I was...

:05:54. > :06:00.Poppy has raised ?2500 for the Oxford charity

:06:25. > :06:26.in hospital, as she did most days.

:06:27. > :06:39.People can still donate online through her Justgiving page.

:06:40. > :06:42.Now let's take a look at the weather, with Dan Downs.

:06:43. > :06:46.We're seeing a few subtle changes in our weather as we

:06:47. > :06:51.The high pressure which has brought us a couple of settled days is

:06:52. > :06:54.slipping away to the south, the isobars squeezing up behind it,

:06:55. > :06:57.And then this weather front's moving down,

:06:58. > :06:59.bringing us rather cloudy conditions to start the New Year,

:07:00. > :07:03.Behind that, though, it does turn a lot clearer and colder.

:07:04. > :07:06.Tonight we're seeing the return of a lot of fog patches

:07:07. > :07:09.around, maybe not quite as dense as the past couple of nights,

:07:10. > :07:12.with a bit more breeze around, but it will be a cold night,

:07:13. > :07:14.quite a widespread frost, as temperatures dip towards

:07:15. > :07:18.Tomorrow, a much cloudy day than today.

:07:19. > :07:21.We start off rather cold and foggy again, and then one

:07:22. > :07:24.or two breaks are possible but generally a lot more cloud around

:07:25. > :07:27.and not feeling particularly warm - a bit more of a breeze around, and

:07:28. > :07:29.temperatures of around 7 or 8 degrees.

:07:30. > :07:34.As we end the year it stays rather cloudy through Saturday.

:07:35. > :07:36.Milder than recent days, though - temperatures just scraping into

:07:37. > :07:40.But it turns rather damp to start New Year's Day, before

:07:41. > :07:43.brightening up later, and then colder but clearer

:07:44. > :07:49.There's more on the BBC News website.

:07:50. > :07:52.Our next programme is tonight at 11:10pm.

:07:53. > :08:23.Temperatures have dropped away shortly and we have seen some fog,

:08:24. > :08:27.particularly through the Midlands. We do have some clout drifting in

:08:28. > :08:33.from the west. By the end of the night, towards the East Midlands as

:08:34. > :08:37.well. Further north, more of a breeze from the south-west, bringing

:08:38. > :08:42.in a weather front. Keeping the temperatures at seven or 8 degrees.

:08:43. > :08:45.Freezing or just below to the south-east corner. Fog will live to

:08:46. > :08:49.low cloud and generally speaking a lot more cloud than we saw today.

:08:50. > :08:53.Northern Scotland is the focal point for wet and windy weather. Confined

:08:54. > :08:58.to the north and west of Scotland where temperatures will be quite

:08:59. > :08:59.mild, ten or 11 degrees for Glasgow,
