:00:51. > :00:52.Tonight there's warnings that the police's ability to enforce

:01:03. > :01:15.people to stop using mobile phones for driving.

:01:27. > :01:30.After he was jailed for ten years on Monday, her birth mother made

:01:31. > :01:34.We urge you to make a personal commitment to stop using mobile

:01:35. > :01:36.phones while driving and make our roads

:01:37. > :01:39.Filming by the BBC shows thd plea is being ignored.

:01:40. > :01:42.These pictures taken this morning show a number of drivers continuing

:01:43. > :01:46.We showed the BBC's video of drivers breaking the law to an officer

:01:47. > :01:55.People are just not realising that when you use a phone behind

:01:56. > :02:09.the Department for Transport has released figures showing thd use of

:02:10. > :02:13.a mobile phone was a factor in 40 accidents in 2014.

:02:14. > :02:17.Earlier, my colleague Steve Humphrey joined me from Chieveley to remind

:02:18. > :02:22.us what the law says about driving with a mobile phone.

:02:23. > :02:28.At the moment, motorists catght using their mobile phone at the

:02:29. > :02:34.wheel gets three penalty pohnts and a minimum fine of ?100. The

:02:35. > :02:41.government is consulting on making some quite stiff increases to those

:02:42. > :02:46.there does need to be a big change there does need to be a big change

:02:47. > :02:50.in this area. Ultimately, wd want to be in a position where the tse of a

:02:51. > :02:55.hand-held mobile phone is as socially unacceptable as

:02:56. > :02:58.drink-driving. We also need a high-profile public awareness

:02:59. > :03:02.campaign which educates drivers just on how dangerous it is to use a

:03:03. > :03:06.hand-held mobile phone at the wheel. With that in mind there are some

:03:07. > :03:09.worrying figures out today `bout lorry driver still using mobiles at

:03:10. > :03:15.the wheel. An insurance company has released the results of a strvey

:03:16. > :03:19.carried out which shows half of all lorry drivers admit to having used a

:03:20. > :03:23.mobile phone behind the whedl at some stage. The Road haulagd

:03:24. > :03:27.Association says the advice is absolutely crystal clear. It says if

:03:28. > :03:28.you are driving leave the phone alone.

:03:29. > :03:30.Gareth Down from Weymouth was in his early 20s

:03:31. > :03:33.when he was told he had a zero sperm count.

:03:34. > :03:36.He and his wife went through years of fertility treatment But,

:03:37. > :03:39.Gareth found one of the hardest struggles for him - as a man -

:03:40. > :03:47.As part of national fertility week, he told us his story.

:03:48. > :03:50.The GP had told me over the phone - it can't be, you're 20 years

:03:51. > :03:57.You get this inferiority to who you are, you're a man,

:03:58. > :04:09.you should be the one that can produce a child.

:04:10. > :04:14.I could lose my way for this and I didn't know we could producd one by

:04:15. > :04:16.other means. I had read up about IVF

:04:17. > :04:19.but you don't really think about the complications

:04:20. > :04:21.that go with it. We'd had two unsuccessful rounds

:04:22. > :04:24.of IVF and the eggs had been As far as I was concerned,

:04:25. > :04:27.the procedure had failed. We had the miscarriage and ht then

:04:28. > :04:30.became my problem. As far as I was concerned,

:04:31. > :04:34.I had lost our baby. Three miscarriages, seven

:04:35. > :04:36.and a half, eight years and eight rounds of treatment,

:04:37. > :04:40.she was at the end and very much of the belief that,

:04:41. > :04:44.if the best of the best hadn't I did find as well that a lot

:04:45. > :04:53.of groups that allowed men on had women on and men just didn't

:04:54. > :04:56.want to speak to women. I set the group up to initi`lly

:04:57. > :04:59.support myself and there was just me The more people joined

:05:00. > :05:02.from around the world... It's brilliant - you can actually

:05:03. > :05:05.unite over something, a difficult I feel it's really important for men

:05:06. > :05:09.to be able to talk because, I wish I had done it sooner but it's

:05:10. > :05:14.now up there for people to find and secret enough that people don't

:05:15. > :05:18.need to know you are on it It took us eight years,

:05:19. > :05:21.four heartbreaking miscarri`ges He really does undo all

:05:22. > :05:25.the problems, all the pain, Just completely irrelevant when

:05:26. > :05:28.you're holding your little liracle. I'm incredibly proud of him and it

:05:29. > :05:31.will help others. huge thanks to them for sharing the

:05:32. > :05:42.story with others. Earlier I spoke to Susan Sednan

:05:43. > :05:44.from infertility Network UK, and I began by asking her why it

:05:45. > :05:54.seems men have been forgottdn. We certainly haven't forgotten them.

:05:55. > :05:59.I think a lot of times and then try to be strong for the partners and

:06:00. > :06:05.legal and come forward lookhng for support themselves. I think it is

:06:06. > :06:11.very important they reach ott and we provide support to people lhke

:06:12. > :06:15.Gareth and everybody else ott there. It is ironic perhaps, that dxperts

:06:16. > :06:20.say positivity can improve chances of conceiving so it almost like a

:06:21. > :06:25.vicious circle. You want to be positive if you are having treatment

:06:26. > :06:27.and go on with the positive attitude, and that can make a

:06:28. > :06:32.difficult because sometimes you difficult because sometimes you

:06:33. > :06:36.don't want to be too positive in case it feels. I know some people

:06:37. > :06:41.that have gone through it and the stresses it puts them under. What

:06:42. > :06:46.needs to change in the long, term and who if anyone needs to insthgate

:06:47. > :06:51.that change? We need to change wider society's understanding of fertility

:06:52. > :06:56.and infertility and people just don't understand the huge ilpact it

:06:57. > :06:59.has. We are trying hard with national fertility awareness week to

:07:00. > :07:03.awareness and also raise aw`reness awareness and also raise aw`reness

:07:04. > :07:06.of the support but is it thdy are for people including men like

:07:07. > :07:09.Gareth. Fascinating to talk to you, thank you.

:07:10. > :07:11.Southampton could be about to become the latest English football club

:07:12. > :07:14.According to global business news providers Bloomberg,

:07:15. > :07:17.Saints have been in talks for some weeks with the Chinese Landdr Sports

:07:18. > :07:20.Development company about a takeover said to be worth ?200 million.

:07:21. > :07:23.The news broke this afternoon, on the eve of perhaps the club's

:07:24. > :07:25.biggest ever game at St Marx's, tomorrow's Europa League gale

:07:26. > :07:45.The present regime at Southampton began

:07:46. > :07:46.when the wealthy Swiss businessman (BP ROLL?

:07:47. > :07:50.Marcus Liebherr bought the club seven years ago,

:07:51. > :07:53.Saints were in administration and struggling in the third tier

:07:54. > :07:56.Now owned by his daughter K`therina, they're currently ninth

:07:57. > :07:59.in the world's richest football league, and an attractive

:08:00. > :08:02.Nevertheless, today's news came as a surprise at the pre-match news

:08:03. > :08:11.conference for tomorrow's g`me against Inter Milan.

:08:12. > :08:19.I've just come from training, but I've just come from training, but

:08:20. > :08:22.obviously it's a great club and a worldwide club now playing hn the

:08:23. > :08:23.Europa League so of course there's going to be addressed.

:08:24. > :08:29.Well, TV coverage of the Premier League is in deland

:08:30. > :08:31.across the world and it's m`king all its clubs big money.

:08:32. > :08:34.Last season, Southampton was the 22nd richest club

:08:35. > :08:38.in the world with revenues of nearly ?150 million.

:08:39. > :08:41.Those revenues are almost cdrtain to grow because of the latest

:08:42. > :08:44.Premier League TV contract , worth a staggering ?5.1 billion over

:08:45. > :08:49.That guarantees each Premier League club a minimum of nearly

:08:50. > :08:55.If a deal did go through, Southampton would follow cltbs

:08:56. > :08:58.like West Bromwich Albion and Aston Villa, which are now

:08:59. > :09:00.in Chinese hands - as the Chinese government

:09:01. > :09:10.encourages growth in the gale at home and abroad.

:09:11. > :09:12.Many Southampton fans have dxpressed apprehension about any

:09:13. > :09:16.Anthony Burdett-Clark said, "every Saints fan has their heart

:09:17. > :09:22.Marcus's Masterplan is a crtcial part of Saints ethos and success.

:09:23. > :09:25.And Chris Terry said, "the Liebherr family has bedn great

:09:26. > :09:31.Chinese takeover could be at best destabilising -

:09:32. > :09:42.I am sure we haven't heard the last of that story.

:09:43. > :09:45.That's all from the South Today news team this evening.

:09:46. > :09:48.We're back tomorrow with bulletins in BBC Breakfast and there's more

:09:49. > :09:54.Here with our regional weather forecast is Alexis Green.

:09:55. > :10:02.He certainly has only the whdespread frost is on the cards espechally at

:10:03. > :10:07.the countryside. A chilly nhght in the temperature already has dropped

:10:08. > :10:12.to -1, even down in Bournemouth on the south coast we had a low of
