:00:16. > :00:18.Sue Howarth was tied up and tortured along with her husband
:00:19. > :00:20.at their farm at Dullstroom about 160 miles
:00:21. > :00:23.The couple had moved there some years ago.
:00:24. > :00:33.Our reporter Sophia Seth told me more about what happened.
:00:34. > :00:35.Well, the incident happened in the early hours of Sunday.
:00:36. > :00:37.I've been speaking to the local paper who
:00:38. > :00:40.interviewed her husband, Robert Lynn.
:00:41. > :00:42.He is now back at home recovering from his injuries.
:00:43. > :00:45.He says that both he and his wife Sue
:00:46. > :00:51.The intruders then tied them up, covered their heads and put them in
:00:52. > :01:00.Robert was hit on the head with a gun, cut with knives
:01:01. > :01:04.He received severe burns to his stomach.
:01:05. > :01:07.It is not clear, the extent of Sue's injuries, but there are
:01:08. > :01:09.reports locally that she received gunshot wounds.
:01:10. > :01:11.Sue, who was 64, died in hospital on Tuesday.
:01:12. > :01:13.Yesterday, a memorial service was held for her.
:01:14. > :01:16.It was attended by her friends and members of the local community.
:01:17. > :01:24.Especially because Sue was very well loved.
:01:25. > :01:28.She was passionate about animals, especially border collies.
:01:29. > :01:30.Everybody I have spoken to has called her a wonderful woman
:01:31. > :01:36.She was forever getting money together for the
:01:37. > :01:40.This is not the first incident of its kind in
:01:41. > :01:45.Here, the couple were on their farm and attacked by
:01:46. > :01:47.intruders in the middle of the night.
:01:48. > :01:50.And I've been told this is not an isolated case.
:01:51. > :01:54.From New Year's Eve until 21st of February, there
:01:55. > :02:02.People have been attacked in the sense of being pulled out
:02:03. > :02:06.of bed, tied around the neck, and been stabbed,
:02:07. > :02:11.blowtorched, raped and then murdered.
:02:12. > :02:14.Well, today, five people are reported to have been arrested and
:02:15. > :02:17.the Foreign and Commonwealth Office says it's in touch with
:02:18. > :02:22.A postmortem is due to take place and once that is
:02:23. > :02:25.completed, the ashes will come to Southsea to be buried
:02:26. > :02:34.A five-year-old girl from Berkshire might not have died from a heart
:02:35. > :02:37.condition had it not been for a failure in her
:02:38. > :02:39.A coroner today recorded that neglect contributed
:02:40. > :02:42.She collapsed outside her school in May 2014
:02:43. > :02:46.Paramedics sent to help her failed to use a defibrillator
:02:47. > :02:48.which could have delivered an electric shock to
:02:49. > :03:00.Had Lilly May been defibrillated within 15 minutes of her collapse,
:03:01. > :03:02.she would have survived and would still be with us.
:03:03. > :03:04.The coroner has found that Lilly May's death was contributed
:03:05. > :03:09.to by neglect on the part of South Central Ambulance Service,
:03:10. > :03:13.and we hope that everyone involved in this inquest will have learned
:03:14. > :03:15.from these events and that a child will not die
:03:16. > :03:25.again in the future for want of defibrillation.
:03:26. > :03:28.In a statement South Central Ambulance said "the Trust has
:03:29. > :03:30."undertaken a detailed investigation into our response to Lilly-May's
:03:31. > :03:34."death from sudden arrhythmic death and shared these findings,
:03:35. > :03:36."and our subsequent actions, with Lilly-May's family.
:03:37. > :03:39."We accept the findings of the Coroner today
:03:40. > :03:44."and offer our sincere apologies to Lilly-May's family."
