:00:10. > :00:12.Hello and welcome to South Today, I'm Edward Sault.
:00:13. > :00:17.from space to Sussex - Chichester astronaut Tim Peake
:00:18. > :00:21.returns home to visit an exhibition about himself.
:00:22. > :00:23.Also - helping them to treat themselves -
:00:24. > :00:25.the new therapy for teenagers who self-harm.
:00:26. > :00:28.And teed off - the golfers angry after their
:00:29. > :00:29.practice range closes because the council decided
:00:30. > :00:41.He's the man from Chichester who swapped Sussex for space.
:00:42. > :00:44.Astronaut Tim Peake is back home this lunchtime to see an exhibition
:00:45. > :00:49.Major Tim was the first British astronaut to live
:00:50. > :00:52.on the international space station for six months last year.
:00:53. > :00:56.Today comes as he's announced he's going back on another mission.
:00:57. > :00:59.Live to Sean Killick now and Sean Major Tim's old school had
:01:00. > :01:03.mounted quite a campaign to get him to come home, hadn't they?
:01:04. > :01:06.It was a bit surreal coming in and seeing your own life history
:01:07. > :01:09.on the board in front of you but the exhibition
:01:10. > :01:14.It documents the mission but more importantly,
:01:15. > :01:17.it educates people about human space flight, what we are doing,
:01:18. > :01:20.why we are doing it. That is one of the most
:01:21. > :01:23.important messages we are trying to get across.
:01:24. > :01:26.Very strange to see half your life on display?
:01:27. > :01:30.It is quite strange as well seeing some artefacts here that I had
:01:31. > :01:37.with me and clothing I wore in space, it is very unusual.
:01:38. > :01:42.How clear was your view of your home area, the south of England?
:01:43. > :01:47.What could you make out? What went through your mind?
:01:48. > :01:51.I had to wait for a sunny day to be able to see from the space station
:01:52. > :01:54.and having launched in December, I had to wait quite a long time
:01:55. > :01:57.before the weather started to improve over the UK.
:01:58. > :02:00.It was fantastic to be able to look down and have a great
:02:01. > :02:11.You are so detached from planet earth but to get to see where you
:02:12. > :02:20.grew up is quite surreal. How has your life changed since you landed?
:02:21. > :02:23.The post flight period is exceptionally busy. The most
:02:24. > :02:29.important thing for us is the scientific data. That is why we have
:02:30. > :02:34.the space station programme. Being able to get back to do outreach and
:02:35. > :02:37.PR is important as well but obviously, that has to take second
:02:38. > :02:41.priority to the science. And being priority to the science. And being
:02:42. > :02:45.based in Houston makes it difficult to get back to the UK so everything
:02:46. > :02:51.takes it's time during the post flight period. You might be going
:02:52. > :02:55.back in the next few years, what are your thoughts? I am very excited
:02:56. > :03:00.about the prospect. There is a fantastic space programme going on.
:03:01. > :03:05.The European Space Agency is very active in giving its astronaut
:03:06. > :03:08.opportunities to go back for future missions.
:03:09. > :03:11.A 60-year-old man from Sandown has been arrested
:03:12. > :03:18.A 45-year-old woman from Cowes was taken
:03:19. > :03:21.to St Mary's Hospital on the Isle of Wight yesterday afternoon.
:03:22. > :03:24.She was found by officers seriously ill at a house in Gurnard.
:03:25. > :03:27.The RMT union says its members are meeting this weekend to discuss
:03:28. > :03:30.whether to call more strike action as part of its ongoing dispute
:03:31. > :03:36.12 train drivers who are members of the RMT have walked out today -
:03:37. > :03:38.the last day of action scheduled so far.
:03:39. > :03:41.Four more Dorset councils have voted in favour of plans
:03:42. > :03:44.for the county to be carved up into two unitary authorities.
:03:45. > :03:47.Dorset County, Weymouth Portland, West and North Dorset districts
:03:48. > :03:53.Poole Council also voted for the move on Tuesday.
:03:54. > :03:56.Dorset's other councils vote by the end of next week.

:04:16. > :04:18.of the liberation of Auschwitz at the end of the Second World War.
:04:19. > :04:20.John Fieldsend, who now lives in Thame, remembers Hitler coming
:04:21. > :04:27.We locked ourselves into our flat, but there were these huge
:04:28. > :04:35.And I can still remember that voice talking about "Der Juden,
:04:36. > :04:39.der Juden, der Juden". And that memory.
:04:40. > :04:43.It is firmly locked in the back of my head,
:04:44. > :04:48.Teens who self-harm are being offered a new form of therapy
:04:49. > :04:51.in Buckinghamshire - and it's showing early
:04:52. > :04:56.Dialectical behaviour therapy - or DBT - uses techniques
:04:57. > :04:58.like mindfulness to help young people in distress
:04:59. > :05:02.to treat themselves. Sophie Sulehria reports.
:05:03. > :05:05.Over the past year, Milton Keynes CAMHS has rolled out
:05:06. > :05:08.a new type of therapy, called DBT, which aims to help young
:05:09. > :05:11.people who frequently self-harm or have attempted suicide.
:05:12. > :05:15.The treatment programme runs for up to a year and works on a new way
:05:16. > :05:18.of addressing emotional crisis, using therapies such as distress
:05:19. > :05:26.We do distress tolerance where we have skills like the Tip
:05:27. > :05:30.skills where you do things like temperature, so you have
:05:31. > :05:34.a change of temperature. So you could have a really cold bath
:05:35. > :05:38.or shower and it brings a different sensation.
:05:39. > :05:45.The programme costs between ?70,000 and ?100,000 a year.
:05:46. > :05:49.Historically, these are the kinds of young people who come to CAMHS
:05:50. > :05:52.who end up coming to A multiple times, who end up being admitted
:05:53. > :05:56.to inpatient units for long stays. They might end up being transferred
:05:57. > :06:00.to adult mental health services when they turn 18.
:06:01. > :06:03.So hopefully, this is going to stop some of those things happening
:06:04. > :06:13.A busy golf practice range in Reading is to be
:06:14. > :06:15.closed down next month - much to the frustration
:06:16. > :06:20.The privately run facility is on land owned by the council,
:06:21. > :06:23.and it's exercised its right to end the lease early.

:06:41. > :06:42.The lease was renewed only a year ago, but without warning,
:06:43. > :06:46.Reading Council announced last month it was ending the agreement early.
:06:47. > :06:48.I think people are just surprised and disappointed because there isn't
:06:49. > :06:51.another range anywhere near in Reading.
:06:52. > :06:56.I don't think there was any consultation about this
:06:57. > :07:02.This is one of the new attractions Reading Council plans to put here.
:07:03. > :07:05.A high ropes adventure climbing facility, together
:07:06. > :07:10.with archery, laser shooting and ironically, minigolf.
:07:11. > :07:13.There will also be a new outdoor education and activity classroom.
:07:14. > :07:21.In these days of obviously budget constraints for all councils,
:07:22. > :07:24.we have to make the best use of our assets and that is what we're
:07:25. > :07:27.doing here, we are putting in an activity centre that we think
:07:28. > :07:31.will be fantastic for children and families and also relocating
:07:32. > :07:34.our play service which will both save the Council money and also
:07:35. > :07:40.It is thought that most of the small number of staff will be made
:07:41. > :07:42.redundant when Leaderboard closes in three weeks' time.
:07:43. > :07:45.Now time for the weather with Dan Downs.

:07:55. > :07:57.crisp for many of us, as this as Weather Watcher
:07:58. > :07:59.picture from Chris shows. It has been clouding over since then
:08:00. > :08:02.and it continues to cloud up during the afternoon.
:08:03. > :08:04.Some patchy rain moving up from the south.
:08:05. > :08:09.We have a weather front crossing during the next 24 hours
:08:10. > :08:11.which will draw up some showers from the south.
:08:12. > :08:14.Particularly western areas, into Dorset, seeing those showers
:08:15. > :08:19.Quite patchy in nature but spreading to more parts later on.
:08:20. > :08:22.And into the night, it stays rather cloudy and damp
:08:23. > :08:27.Temperature-wise, today, we're looking at highs of around 8,
:08:28. > :08:32.So quite a grey evening, some low cloud around,
:08:33. > :08:34.that rain continuing to spread during the evening to
:08:35. > :08:39.As you would expect, under that cloud, temperatures
:08:40. > :08:42.tonight not dipping much below 4 or 5 degrees.
:08:43. > :08:46.Still some showers initially but gradually things start
:08:47. > :08:49.to improve from the west and become drier and brighter,
:08:50. > :08:51.with some sunshine at times in the afternoon, perhaps.
:08:52. > :08:55.But always a chance of some showers and they could be heavy and perhaps
:08:56. > :08:57.even thundery at times. Feeling that much milder tomorrow,
:08:58. > :08:59.temperatures reaching highs of 8 or 9 Celsius.
:09:00. > :09:01.Beyond that, it stays rather unsettled.
:09:02. > :09:06.Temperatures into double figures by the start of next week.
:09:07. > :09:10.Some rain around for much of Sunday and then it continues to be
:09:11. > :09:12.unsettled into the first part of next week as well.

:10:09. > :10:10.The Robshaws are going back in time again...
:10:11. > :10:15.Feel a little bit overwhelmed at the moment.
