:00:34. > :00:44.Today's vigil was organised by a Reading mother of six who has

:00:45. > :00:47.who has taken aid to migrant camps in Europe and feels more should be

:00:48. > :00:55.It is so important for us to show them that we do care

:00:56. > :00:58.and we haven't forgotten them because if I was in that

:00:59. > :01:00.situation I would not want the world to forget me.

:01:01. > :01:02.That gives you so much strength in that situation.

:01:03. > :01:05.Not everyone out Christmas shopping stopped to listen, but many did

:01:06. > :01:17.It might be Christmas and we might be doing shopping and thinking

:01:18. > :01:20.about our families and being safe but there are people who are just

:01:21. > :01:22.dying, who have been let down by everybody.

:01:23. > :01:25.Even charities find it difficult to kind of get there and I suppose

:01:26. > :01:29.in my own sort of little way I just want to show that I do care.

:01:31. > :01:33.There'll be more disruption on Southern Rail services tomorrow

:01:34. > :01:36.as train conductors begin a 48 hour walkout.

:01:37. > :01:38.The RMT union is in dispute with the rail operator over

:01:39. > :01:40.plans to make drivers, rather than guards, operate

:01:41. > :01:46.Last week there were no Southern services at all for three days,

:01:47. > :01:49.when the drivers' union ASLEF also went on strike.

:01:50. > :01:52.The mother of a teenager whose body was recovered from the sea off

:01:53. > :01:55.Dorset earlier this year is now working with other young

:01:56. > :02:07.people to encourage them to stay safe on nights out.

:02:08. > :02:11.Louis Harris was 18 when he went missing in Weymouth in the early

:02:12. > :02:16.Louis Harris was a teenager out for a night in a seaside resort,

:02:17. > :02:19.The search for him went on for weeks.

:02:20. > :02:22.Police dived by the same quayside that people come to enjoy.

:02:23. > :02:24.Eventually his body was pulled from the sea nearby.

:02:25. > :02:26.Events leading up to his death are still not clear -

:02:27. > :02:31.But his mother has started working with pupils at his old school,

:02:32. > :02:35.She's hoping to talk to many more young people so that when they're

:02:36. > :02:38.old enough to go out drinking, or even before, they take steps

:02:39. > :02:44.We need to be realistic and practical, and not tell people,

:02:45. > :02:48.you know, not to drink, and accept that they will do,

:02:49. > :02:56.You know, so that they can make choices and understand

:02:57. > :02:59.Most drink things for teenagers, it seems quite patronising.

:03:00. > :03:02.It's like, "Don't drink, you're not old enough."

:03:03. > :03:05.Whereas this one treats you like you're an adult, which I liked.

:03:06. > :03:08.It makes you realise that it's important to know what your friends

:03:09. > :03:10.are doing and whether they can get home OK.

:03:11. > :03:13.This could have been the most important lesson
