:00:26. > :00:28.The woman was taken to Southampton General Hospital

:00:29. > :00:32.Meanwhile, a woman in her twenties is in a critical condition

:00:33. > :00:34.after falling from a block of flats in Southampton.

:00:35. > :00:37.The woman was discovered on the ground by police

:00:38. > :00:39.at Mede House in Salisbury Street yesterday morning.

:00:40. > :00:41.Hampshire Police say they're not linking the two

:00:42. > :00:47.A Royal Navy warship based in Portsmouth has rescued 14 sailors

:00:48. > :00:50.after they became stranded in the Atlantic ocean.

:00:51. > :00:54.The Clyde Challenger was returning to the UK when strong winds

:00:55. > :00:58.HMS Dragon was diverted 500 miles and reached the yacht

:00:59. > :01:03.She provided what's been described as "life-saving

:01:04. > :01:09.assistance" to the 14 sailors - 13 of whom were British.

:01:12. > :01:15.Basically the top of the mast hit the water and snapped.

:01:19. > :01:24.It was quite a big swell so every time the boat went away,

:01:28. > :01:31.on with our own boat, so it was really quite rough.

:01:32. > :01:34.A woman from Sussex has been given a 15 month sentence

:01:35. > :01:38.after threatening to kill horses at a yard in Shoreham.

:01:39. > :01:41.Kirsty Geoghegan, who's 25 and from Hove, tried to blackmail

:01:42. > :01:46.stable owners at Buddies Yard into paying her ?5000.

:01:47. > :01:49.The horses had previously had their tails and manes cut off

:01:50. > :01:54.The stable owners say they're relieved the judge handed out

:01:55. > :02:01.Absolutely gobsmacked that she got a prison sentence but very ecstatic

:02:14. > :02:15.Ambitious plans to completely change the structure of local government

:02:16. > :02:20.in Dorset have been condemned by one of the county's most

:02:21. > :02:24.Six of the county's nine local authorities have backed plans

:02:25. > :02:27.to replace the current set-up with two unitary authorities.

:02:28. > :02:30.But the other three councils want to keep things as they are.

:02:31. > :02:37.This is a very crude map of Dorset's current nine council areas,

:02:38. > :02:40.with the economic powerhouse of Bournemouth and Poole keen

:02:41. > :02:43.to merge with their neighbour Christchurch, and the other five

:02:44. > :02:46.councils lumped together to form a separate unitary

:02:47. > :02:58.However, three of the smaller councils have all voted no to being

:02:59. > :03:05.Cheers greeted the merger plans being rejected

:03:06. > :03:12.People want to be able to keep control of their own destiny.

:03:13. > :03:14.Bournemouth and Poole can join together if they want

:03:15. > :03:18.to and meanwhile we have a combined authority which is a strong

:03:19. > :03:30.There will be less councillors so less representatives of people,

:03:31. > :03:35.But it also freezes out diversity of opinion.

:03:36. > :03:39.It works well in Cornwall, Wiltshire.

:03:40. > :03:41.It's not a ground-breaking proposal we've got here.

:03:42. > :03:44.Nine councils cannot be the best optimal arrangement of delivering

:03:45. > :03:49.public service in a county the size of Dorset.

:03:50. > :03:51.The final decision rests with the secretary of state

:03:52. > :03:56.If he says yes, there's calls from Greens, Lib Dems and Ukip

:04:13. > :04:17.We will see some clear spells first thing on Monday morning.
