:01:13. > :01:19.Another 2500 homes could be built at nearby Bersted.

:01:20. > :01:21.Arun District Council says that the amount of land it's

:01:22. > :01:24.required to allocate for housing has risen sharply in recent years,

:01:25. > :01:30.It says all sites are tested for environmental and infrastructure

:01:31. > :01:32.constraints and it says there will be a public consultation

:01:33. > :01:38.before the local plan is looked at by a planning inspector.

:01:39. > :01:41.The council says that applications are also being put forward

:01:42. > :01:43.for community facilities including a primary school, but those gathered

:01:44. > :01:46.here are convinced the local area can't take the strain of the scale

:01:47. > :01:56.They are determined to make their voices heard.

:01:57. > :01:59.An investigation is under way into the cause of a large fire that

:02:00. > :02:01.destroyed a hardware store in Oxfordshire.

:02:02. > :02:02.Seven fire engines and 50 firefighters were called

:02:03. > :02:07.to the incident in Watlington at around 7pm last night.
