:00:11. > :00:19.Thousands of pounds worth of damage as a fire rips through a row of

:00:19. > :00:21.cottages. Could a ruptured oil tank have started it?

:00:21. > :00:23.Good evening. Tonight residents have been allowed back to their

:00:23. > :00:26.homes to collect belongings as investigations continue.

:00:26. > :00:28.Also on Spotlight tonight, Derriford hospital named as a major

:00:28. > :00:32.trauma centre. Critically injured patients will be sent directly

:00:32. > :00:35.there in an effort to act fast and save more lives.

:00:35. > :00:45.And the thousands of local lives touched by the Falklands war. We

:00:45. > :00:46.

:00:46. > :00:49.People are being allowed back into their homes to collect their

:00:49. > :00:52.belongings today after fire ripped through five terraced houses in

:00:52. > :00:55.Cornwall. A fire investigation team has been trying to find out what

:00:55. > :01:02.started the blaze. It caused thousands of pounds of damage in

:01:02. > :01:05.the village of Constantine near Falmouth. Homes had to be evacuated

:01:05. > :01:07.and families had to spend the night with friends or relatives. Our

:01:07. > :01:10.reporter Emma Ruminski has the latest.

:01:10. > :01:13.One in the daylight it is easy to see why this fire was so difficult

:01:13. > :01:18.to tackle. The cottages are so close together at the fire spread

:01:18. > :01:22.quickly. Today investigators have been inside with surveyors to see

:01:22. > :01:26.if it is safe for residents to go back and collect what belongings

:01:26. > :01:30.remain. Tricky to access and quick moving,

:01:30. > :01:35.it is thought the fire started near a domestic oil tank and as the fuel

:01:35. > :01:40.ruptured out of the tank the flames followed. Smoke could be seen for

:01:40. > :01:46.miles around. And the initial stages it is about

:01:46. > :01:55.getting its water supply is working and getting our was spiked to work

:01:55. > :01:59.on the fires. -- our hosepipes. It was then about protecting as much

:01:59. > :02:08.of the property as we could and I am pleased to say we managed to get

:02:08. > :02:13.a hold of this one very quickly. J G C a delay there was this huge

:02:13. > :02:18.college -- call fire. Really frightening. How quickly did

:02:18. > :02:23.it spread? It was incredibly quick. The burning oil must have added to

:02:23. > :02:28.the speed of it spreading. No one was hurt, but several were

:02:28. > :02:30.evacuated as the fire spread. Why a snake and have lots of phone

:02:30. > :02:34.calls, people forming the pub asking if there was anything they

:02:34. > :02:43.could do. They were offering accommodation, just to see if there

:02:43. > :02:47.was anything that they could do. The family with two young children,

:02:47. > :02:53.they lost all their clothes, so my daughter went on for his book and

:02:53. > :02:57.said, if anyone had children's clothes could they help them out?

:02:57. > :03:02.The investigators have not reported findings yet, but the inquiry is

:03:02. > :03:05.focusing on a fuel tank in the backyard of properties. They are

:03:05. > :03:09.warning other people to inspect fuel tanks. Are were of people have

:03:09. > :03:15.domestic heating tanks. When the rupture we have the

:03:15. > :03:19.flowing fuel fire that moves on to other outbuildings. It causes a lot

:03:19. > :03:23.of damage and we do ask that everyone ends but -- inspects their

:03:23. > :03:27.oil tanks to make sure they are in good condition and also that they

:03:27. > :03:30.don't store flammable so anywhere near them.

:03:30. > :03:35.A those affected are now staying with friends and relatives. At

:03:35. > :03:40.least for the of the families are staying with relatives, but they

:03:40. > :03:43.will not be allowed for some time back into their house. It could be

:03:43. > :03:51.some time they will have to spend in temporary accommodation before

:03:51. > :03:55.they can return. Derriford Hospital has today been

:03:55. > :03:57.named a Major Trauma Centre for the South West as part of a plan to

:03:57. > :04:00.keep more critically injured patients alive. People with life

:04:00. > :04:02.threatening injuries should now be taken directly to their nearest

:04:02. > :04:06.centre. However, some patients may end up in other hospitals because

:04:06. > :04:15.air ambulances have nowhere to refuel in Plymouth. Here's our

:04:15. > :04:19.Health Correspondent Sally Mountjoy. Chris Hooper broke his bet -- leg

:04:19. > :04:25.in more than a dozen places when a car knocked him off his motorbike

:04:25. > :04:29.in Plymouth ten days ago. He was brought to Derriford Hospital for

:04:29. > :04:36.treatment. Go I had a lot of work done on my

:04:36. > :04:43.ankle, plastic surgery, all thoughts, severe pain relief, a lot

:04:43. > :04:48.of pain and discomfort but everyone has been helpful and kind.

:04:48. > :04:53.Today, the Department of Health declared Derriford at the peninsula

:04:53. > :04:56.at major trauma centres or anyone suffering more to life -- multiple

:04:56. > :05:04.or life-threatening injuries will be brought straight here rather

:05:04. > :05:08.than a local hospital. Patients have access to advanced technology.

:05:08. > :05:17.It means a change in the way we managed trauma across the UK,

:05:17. > :05:21.essentially, concentrating the activity and expertise in one area,

:05:21. > :05:27.which has been shown to save lives and get patients back to work

:05:27. > :05:31.quicker. Critically injured people in

:05:31. > :05:36.Somerset will go to Bristol, and those in Dorset to Southampton, but

:05:36. > :05:41.there is concern not all patients who should will go directly to

:05:41. > :05:44.Derriford Hospital. Since Plymouth airport closed, air ambulances

:05:44. > :05:48.cannot refuelled near there, so they may have to take patients

:05:48. > :05:54.elsewhere. We'll just a few days away from

:05:54. > :06:00.Easter, on the cusp of a very busy summer season. This is a busy,

:06:00. > :06:05.hard-working air ambulance operation, and we are concerned

:06:05. > :06:10.that the non-availability of fuel in the Plymouth area could impact

:06:10. > :06:16.on patient care from Cornwall. Do talks are ongoing to resolve the

:06:16. > :06:26.problem, meanwhile Derriford's, Team is sure its new designation

:06:26. > :06:27.

:06:27. > :06:29.will mean many more patients A man accused of murdering his

:06:29. > :06:33.partner just hours after she had undergone surgery for breast cancer

:06:33. > :06:36.has told a jury at Exeter Crown Court he accepts he caused her

:06:36. > :06:39.death. The body of solicitor Sian Rees was found between the front

:06:39. > :06:41.seats after 54-year-old John Doyle crashed his car into a hedge near

:06:41. > :06:45.the couple's home in Merton. She had been strangled. When asked

:06:45. > :06:53.whether he accepted he'd held Ms Rees's neck, he replied, I do. Mr

:06:53. > :06:56.Doyle denies murder and the trial continues.

:06:56. > :06:59.A lorry driver from Yeovil has admitted crashing a petrol tanker

:06:59. > :07:02.into the front of his family's bungalow in Dorset. Hugh Billington

:07:02. > :07:06.drove the tanker into the house in Wool, that he and his wife

:07:06. > :07:09.Christine own, in January. Mrs Billington had to climb through a

:07:09. > :07:13.window to escape the fire which followed. The 51-year-old will be

:07:13. > :07:16.sentenced at the end of the month. The Royal Cornwall Hospital Trust

:07:16. > :07:20.has been fined nearly 1 million, mostly for failing to treat

:07:20. > :07:24.patients quickly enough. The fine for the past year includes a

:07:24. > :07:28.penalty for almost 200 breaches of rules over mixed-sex wards. The

:07:28. > :07:34.trust says in the past six months it has reduced waiting times and

:07:34. > :07:37.now has some of the shortest in the region.

:07:37. > :07:40.A secure hospital for women in Devon has failed an announced

:07:40. > :07:42.inspection by the care watchdog. The Care Quality Commission said

:07:42. > :07:44.the Coombe House facility near Crediton wasn't meeting six

:07:44. > :07:47.government standards covering areas such as staffing and how well

:07:47. > :07:55.patients are looked after. The private firm which runs the

:07:55. > :07:58.hospital says it is already taking steps to improve.

:07:58. > :08:00.Parents trying to save a troubled private school in North Devon have

:08:00. > :08:02.failed in their efforts to buy the building.

:08:02. > :08:07.Administrators of St Michael's School in Tawstock have chosen a

:08:07. > :08:09.different buyer. In a statement they say they recognise the

:08:09. > :08:13.disappointment of the parents, but understand they're hoping to work

:08:13. > :08:16.with the new owners to either buy the nursery buildings or stay there

:08:16. > :08:19.for longer. Stay with us for a look back at how

:08:19. > :08:22.the South West prepared for the Falkland's conflict 30 years ago

:08:22. > :08:25.today. Plus the remarkable story of how this 10-year-old overcame the

:08:25. > :08:35.odds to become an author. And east meets west - how dance is

:08:35. > :08:36.

:08:36. > :08:39.helping to break down cultural differences.

:08:39. > :08:42.The south west is gearing up for the Easter weekend and local

:08:42. > :08:46.businesses are hoping good weather and the delay in possible strike

:08:46. > :08:53.action by tanker drivers will help bring visitors to the region. But

:08:53. > :08:56.why are the people who come here choosing the South West? Many

:08:56. > :08:59.holiday makers have been telling the BBC that they come back year

:08:59. > :09:06.after year and their decision has little to do with how the region is

:09:06. > :09:10.marketed. Spotlight's John Ayres has more.

:09:10. > :09:14.The Easter is a busy time. Attracting new business is well

:09:14. > :09:18.wide all that is why there is a rush to build new facilities. A new

:09:18. > :09:22.railway station has just opened, and Paignton has a new parked on

:09:22. > :09:25.its green. Youngsters have been flocking to it bringing parents and

:09:26. > :09:29.spending money. When people are in the town they

:09:29. > :09:37.spend their money here, so hopefully it will be a boost to

:09:37. > :09:45.trade, as well. It is a pity, then, that a tanker

:09:45. > :09:49.drivers' strike has loomed. Why do visitors choose the South West? BBC

:09:49. > :09:56.Devon cut -- conducted a straw poll with 100 people, be it is not

:09:56. > :10:00.scientific but 95 of them said they were not enticed by advertising -

:10:00. > :10:03.they were coming anyway. There it is a nice environment, and when we

:10:03. > :10:06.come to visit we'd come out and take advantage of the lovely

:10:06. > :10:11.sunshine. A don't think I was influenced by

:10:11. > :10:17.the marketing, it was more my wife, really. We have come here for 40

:10:17. > :10:22.years in succession can we really like it. -- for four years. Are you

:10:22. > :10:26.strip come here when I was around five years old with my parents.

:10:26. > :10:33.The industry sees marketing as an important tool, but it must be done

:10:33. > :10:37.propertied -- properly. We're not all convinced of it

:10:37. > :10:40.because we has such strong levels of business and we can do it by

:10:40. > :10:48.direct e-mail, lots of sophisticated ways. Marketing into

:10:48. > :10:54.new markets specifically targeting people can be a useful tool, but it

:10:54. > :10:57.must be used carefully. With a tankers strike on hold until

:10:57. > :11:01.after Easter, the industry is hoping its effect on visitor

:11:01. > :11:10.numbers will be at a minimum. They returned to the more traditional

:11:10. > :11:13.issue of the weather. 30 years ago today service

:11:13. > :11:16.personnel and dockyard workers in the region were gearing up for war.

:11:16. > :11:19.As Britain prepared to send a task force to the Falkland Islands after

:11:19. > :11:22.the Argentine invasion, there was frantic activity at military bases

:11:22. > :11:25.across the South West. At Devonport, workers prepared many of the ships

:11:25. > :11:27.which were about to sail to the South Atlantic. Tonight in the

:11:27. > :11:30.first of three special reports on Spotlight this week, David George

:11:30. > :11:40.looks back at how the region prepared to play its part in

:11:40. > :11:46.

:11:46. > :11:50.liberating the Falklands. The Government has now decided that

:11:50. > :11:53.a large task force will sail as soon as all preparations are

:11:53. > :11:58.complete. Across the South West, those

:11:59. > :12:03.preparations were under way at a furious pace. Nimrods from St

:12:03. > :12:11.Mawgan, helicopters from Montrose, Sea Harriers, naval vessels and

:12:11. > :12:15.Royal Fleet eggs ill-at-ease -- auxiliaries from Devon port as well

:12:15. > :12:21.as thousands of naval personnel. Pat Devonport work began to provide

:12:21. > :12:25.stores for the Navy and refit much and chips.

:12:25. > :12:30.Good in the week at the Atlantic conveyor has been in the debt --

:12:30. > :12:34.Bogarde, around 400 civilians have been engaged strengthening her

:12:34. > :12:39.decks, creating a hangar space and improving her communications. By

:12:39. > :12:45.tonight she should be on her way to the South Atlantic and, in addition

:12:45. > :12:49.to these helicopters, a complement of Harrier jump jets is expected to

:12:49. > :12:53.join her on route. The Atlantic conveyor was also

:12:53. > :12:59.expected to carry Chinook helicopters. Three were destroyed

:12:59. > :13:03.weeks later when the ship was hit by an Argentinian Exocet missile.

:13:03. > :13:10.Devonport refitted a dozen ships carrying out 400,000 ft of welding

:13:10. > :13:17.in just eight days. 112 ships travelled south, amongst

:13:17. > :13:21.them famous liners like the QE two. We were all sitting there relaxing

:13:21. > :13:31.watching a movie when it suddenly stopped and the message came saying,

:13:31. > :13:34.

:13:35. > :13:39.I am sorry, we have to tell you And for the first time in many,

:13:39. > :13:44.many years, one of the Navy's best and biggest ships had been very

:13:44. > :13:52.badly hit and three or four days later sank. That was the first time

:13:52. > :13:57.we saw it was a serious war. And given part's owner was soon

:13:57. > :14:03.emerged the casualties. HMS ardent and HMS Antelope were hit by

:14:03. > :14:07.Argentine bombs. There was an explosion on board.

:14:07. > :14:13.The fire started a midships and spread swiftly from the water line

:14:13. > :14:18.to the main deck. Smoke could be seen drifting over the water and

:14:18. > :14:22.fruit the searchlights of helicopters probed for survivors. -

:14:22. > :14:29.- threw it to the Serbs might. Six weeks after the invasion,

:14:29. > :14:33.British forces were fighting on the islands.

:14:33. > :14:40.The berries were green for the Marines and red for the parachute

:14:40. > :14:47.facility. We just couldn't resist the rhyming slang, the red and

:14:47. > :14:52.green light machine. The blokes were happy that in this cold, but

:14:52. > :14:56.hated, deserted place with no roads, if they were hurt, provided they

:14:56. > :15:03.could survive the initial impact they were going to be all right.

:15:03. > :15:07.They had to walk across the country, but, by the early summer, two-and-

:15:07. > :15:17.a-half months after the invasion, the Union flag was raised in Port

:15:17. > :15:18.

:15:18. > :15:28.Stanley. Argentina had surrendered. 255 British servicemen, 649

:15:28. > :15:32.

:15:32. > :15:35.Argentinians and three islanders And during the course of this week

:15:35. > :15:38.we will be looking at how the Falklands conflict affected some of

:15:38. > :15:42.the military personnel who survived and whether our armed forces could

:15:42. > :15:49.mount a similar operation today. It's time for the sport now and

:15:49. > :15:52.Natalie has got the latest for us. Natalie and I had a real treat when

:15:53. > :16:02.you are a way, because Dave Gibbins was in doing the sport, and he

:16:03. > :16:03.

:16:03. > :16:06.called us the ladies. It was a real treat! He was loving it, wasn't he?

:16:06. > :16:10.Truro City Football Club has been issued with a second winding up

:16:10. > :16:18.order by HM Revenue and Customs. The Treyew Road club has to find

:16:18. > :16:21.51,000 in unpaid taxes. But owner Kevin Heaney says it will be paid

:16:21. > :16:24.in full by the hearing date of April the 30th at the Royal Courts

:16:24. > :16:27.of Justice. Their first winding up petition was for more than 100,000,

:16:27. > :16:30.which was settled in January. A fairly positive weekend of

:16:30. > :16:33.football with none of our sides losing. Exeter City's draw hasn't

:16:33. > :16:37.done a huge amount to help their relegation battle, but Torquay are

:16:37. > :16:41.snapping at the heels of League Two leaders Swindon. Plymouth Argyle

:16:41. > :16:44.have at last opened up a small gap between them and the bottom two.

:16:44. > :16:52.Our football pundit Chris Hargreaves has been looking back at

:16:52. > :16:58.the action. There may be a promotion, maybe

:16:58. > :17:03.survival, a big weekend. Wet start with Exeter. They did not do that

:17:04. > :17:07.much to help themselves. 1-1, at much to help themselves. 1-1, at

:17:08. > :17:12.least it was one point, though. No, it will be tough from now on.

:17:12. > :17:18.This will not be pleasant viewing again. He does not get closed down,

:17:18. > :17:22.a slotted finish, awful goal to concede. We discuss a lot of the

:17:22. > :17:27.virtues of Exeter's performance, they do play a great football, but

:17:27. > :17:32.it has not been enough this season. It could have been worse on the day.

:17:33. > :17:38.Good solid goalkeeping of this, but it has been a struggle all season.

:17:38. > :17:46.There was a bright sparks here with Jamie scoring a goal. We don't know

:17:46. > :17:52.whether it is his goal but he certainly claim that. -- claimed it.

:17:52. > :18:01.OK, League Two, Torquay, it is a cliche but the goals are flying.

:18:01. > :18:07.Magnificent, it was. This was a penalty. Big pressure on the

:18:07. > :18:11.penalty, he missed it, it was an off day for Torquay. It was a great

:18:11. > :18:19.sign that they pulled through with a victory. Their diminutive winger,

:18:19. > :18:25.Danny Stevens, just past it in. The fans and players were rewarded with

:18:25. > :18:29.a great victory. He seemed so pleased.

:18:29. > :18:34.I am not sure if this was a Valentine's, I don't know if they

:18:34. > :18:44.were meeting up later on. A lovely couple at the end.

:18:44. > :18:47.

:18:47. > :18:52.Also, moving on, Plymouth Argyle, they have done better.

:18:52. > :18:57.Yes, they did have chances on the day but results are what matter.

:18:57. > :19:01.This was a brilliant effort, nearly off the keeper, he did not know

:19:01. > :19:11.anything about it. It has been fantastic form from Plymouth

:19:11. > :19:13.

:19:13. > :19:17.recently. The victory was huge. A good save, again. The was a bit of

:19:17. > :19:21.us grumble at the end. Yes, from the fans and players, no

:19:21. > :19:23.doubt, but the result was all that mattered.

:19:24. > :19:27.mattered. Thank you very much.

:19:27. > :19:29.Back to League One now and Yeovil salvaged a point at Bournemouth

:19:29. > :19:31.thanks to the heroics of goal keeper Sam Walker. The 20-year-old

:19:31. > :19:34.keeper Sam Walker. The 20-year-old Chelsea loanee pulled off a string

:19:34. > :19:37.of stunning saves to keep the game goalless at Dean Court. That's now

:19:37. > :19:40.eight wins and two draws under Gary Johnson. Yeovil are now six points

:19:40. > :19:43.clear of the relegation zone with six games remaining. Their next is

:19:43. > :19:46.six games remaining. Their next is at home to Rochdale on Saturday.

:19:46. > :19:49.Exeter Chiefs are looking good for a place in next seasons European

:19:49. > :19:52.Heineken Cup after their latest triumph - an 18 points to 11 win

:19:52. > :19:55.over London Irish at Sandy Park. A over London Irish at Sandy Park. A

:19:55. > :19:58.try in the first half from lock James Hanks was added to in the

:19:58. > :20:01.second period by Argentine wing Gonzalo Camacho, his first for the

:20:01. > :20:05.Chiefs. It could have been more comfortable had Ignacio Mieres not

:20:05. > :20:14.missed five penalty kicks. The result keeps Exeter fifth in the

:20:14. > :20:17.The Cornish Pirates need one more win to reach the semi-finals of the

:20:17. > :20:20.Championship title play-offs. A try from Phil Burgess and four Rob Cook

:20:20. > :20:24.penalties helped them to a 17-14 win at Rotherham Titans which keeps

:20:24. > :20:26.them second in their pool behind Bedford. Plymouth Albion will be

:20:27. > :20:31.playing Championship rugby next season after securing their status

:20:31. > :20:38.at London Scottish. Canadian Aaron Carpenter scored the only try to

:20:38. > :20:41.beat the expats 11-6 in Richmond. Finally back to football, and on

:20:41. > :20:46.Late Kick Off tonight Steve Fletcher - Plymouth's new signing -

:20:46. > :20:49.is in the studio as one of the two main guests. They will also be

:21:14. > :21:17.celebrating after getting his first book published. Toby Berridge has

:21:17. > :21:27.written about his life on a farm and according to his classmates it

:21:27. > :21:28.

:21:28. > :21:33.could be a best seller. Eleanor As authors go, in two is pretty

:21:33. > :21:39.young. Despite this, he is not fazed by his first book signing.

:21:39. > :21:43.This is Toby's book. The interesting world of Toby's

:21:43. > :21:48.farmyard machinery. By did you decided to write about

:21:48. > :21:53.tractors? De because it is my hobby. I have

:21:53. > :21:58.loads of tractors at home on my little toy farm and it is quite fun

:21:58. > :22:00.to write about. Still, you have a real passion for

:22:00. > :22:04.tractors, don't you? Yes.

:22:04. > :22:09.It is easy to see where it will be got the inspiration for his book.

:22:09. > :22:13.This is his farm where they have eight tractors and 600 cattle. What

:22:13. > :22:19.makes this book so special is that we might is dyslexic and finds

:22:19. > :22:25.reading and writing very difficult. What has been really nice is that

:22:25. > :22:29.his confidence in having a goal has been absolutely fantastic, and that

:22:29. > :22:34.is one of the biggest changes in a few months, from not liking the

:22:34. > :22:37.reading and writing to writing his own book and thinking he can do it.

:22:37. > :22:42.He has become an author! I think it is really good, because

:22:42. > :22:46.all the pictures to match up with what he is insane.

:22:46. > :22:52.Do you like tractors? I didn't like it before I read the

:22:52. > :22:57.book, but now I am more into them. Judging by the way it has gone down,

:22:57. > :23:01.they may have a print a few more copies.

:23:01. > :23:04.They were all engrossed. Organisers of a cultural dance

:23:04. > :23:06.event in Plymouth hope it will help break down racial differences. The

:23:06. > :23:16.show was held at the university at the weekend. Spotlight's Emma

:23:16. > :23:18.

:23:59. > :24:00.

:24:00. > :24:07.dance that was like that, and remember more positive things.

:24:07. > :24:10.It is the fifth year the event has been held, and a whiff many more

:24:10. > :24:16.performers taking Pat organisers say it has gone from strength to

:24:16. > :24:25.strength. You're meeting people and enjoying

:24:25. > :24:31.And all the people here hope that by using dance they can continue to

:24:31. > :24:34.help break down cultural differences.

:24:34. > :24:37.The BBC is celebrating the Queen's Diamond Jubilee with a documentary

:24:37. > :24:40.looking back at the many visits that Her Majesty has made to the

:24:40. > :24:43.South West. And we're looking for your personal recollections, from

:24:44. > :24:49.her first official visit in 1949 as Princess, to the Isles of Scilly in

:24:49. > :24:52.1967, Geevor Mine in 1980 to the Devon County Show in 1995. When she

:24:52. > :25:02.arrived at Exeter St David's train station that year she was presented

:25:06. > :25:16.you've been lucky enough to meet the Queen please do get in touch,

:25:16. > :25:19.

:25:19. > :25:24.you can email us at the usual It is they too have you back. You

:25:24. > :25:28.had the most gorgeous weather last week. I was extremely lucky. There

:25:28. > :25:33.week. I was extremely lucky. There is a real change this week, though.

:25:33. > :25:37.Hello, it has not been a bad start to the week, decent temperatures,

:25:37. > :25:41.but it will turn a lot colder, especially by midweek with biting

:25:41. > :25:47.northerly winds. We have a cold front pushing down from tomorrow

:25:47. > :25:53.onwards. Much colder air, with showers pushing in from the South

:25:53. > :25:59.West. The likelihood is that the showers will bump into that cold

:25:59. > :26:03.air. High pressure beds in on Wednesday and Thursday, distinctly

:26:03. > :26:09.cold compared to this time last week. For tonight, generally

:26:09. > :26:19.settled, showers pitching their way and from the West, quite chilly.

:26:19. > :26:24.Even an ordinary areas we are looking at six-eight Celsius.

:26:24. > :26:29.Tomorrow, we have showers coming in from the South West. On higher

:26:29. > :26:34.levels a little snow or sleet, that will melt quite readily because the

:26:35. > :26:44.ground is still warm from last week. Temperatures still around ten

:26:45. > :26:45.

:26:45. > :26:49.Celsius, on low levels showers falling. The Marine forecast... The

:26:49. > :26:53.strength of the winds will pick up as we go through the afternoon. For

:26:53. > :26:59.the Isles of Scilly, generally it is not a bad picture Until showers

:26:59. > :27:04.begin to spread in. Showers becoming wintry at times. For the

:27:04. > :27:09.Channel Islands are little better, a bright and sunny start, and the

:27:09. > :27:13.rest of the rain not showing its hand until later on. We are looking

:27:13. > :27:18.at a drier picture for the rest of the week, but Wednesday and

:27:18. > :27:23.Thursday temperatures well down on last week with the cold winds.

:27:23. > :27:26.Milder at the end of the week, I have not mentioned rain because

:27:26. > :27:31.apart from the precipitation in the showers tomorrow there is none of
