:00:09. > :00:13.Good afternoon. Large parts of the southwest continue to be on flood

:00:14. > :00:17.alert today as yet another storm with winds of up to 70mph is

:00:18. > :00:20.expected to arrive this afternoon and into the evening. The Somerset

:00:21. > :00:24.Levels where many residents have already been forced from their homes

:00:25. > :00:27.remain at the highest risk of continued flooding. There are also

:00:28. > :00:29.flood warnings in place for the coastline of Devon, Dorset and

:00:30. > :00:39.Cornwall. This report from Simon Clemison in Looe.

:00:40. > :00:42.Still, what storm? The bins still need to be collected and Looe matter

:00:43. > :00:46.what the weather. And getting to their place of work has been tricky

:00:47. > :00:50.for the fishermen. Many have not been out all the port for weeks,

:00:51. > :00:56.leaving gaps in the shelves. It is not only the flooding, but the

:00:57. > :01:00.effects it has on work, income. People have mortgages to pay, staff

:01:01. > :01:07.have mortgages to pay, no fish, no jobs, nothing.

:01:08. > :01:11.Talk of winds gusting up to 70 mph is worrying even very close line

:01:12. > :01:16.used to braving the elements. Those bumps on a normally smooth horizon

:01:17. > :01:19.are waves. I've never known such a sustained

:01:20. > :01:25.period of bad weather, and we're not getting the respite in between the

:01:26. > :01:29.storms to effect permanent repairs. What we're doing at the moment is

:01:30. > :01:32.all emergency response. For some, VCs are exciting and to be

:01:33. > :01:41.enjoyed. And Simon Clemison joins us now.

:01:42. > :01:48.Gardening. High tide has passed now in Looe, and hasn't been any

:01:49. > :01:53.flooding. Those large waves which we saw, the sandbags have been in

:01:54. > :01:58.place, people have been prepared but have been very lucky this time. It

:01:59. > :02:03.really is a consistent weather, which is very unusual for Britain,

:02:04. > :02:08.but consistently bad. A lot of people say they are keen to see the

:02:09. > :02:12.end of it before it costs too much money.

:02:13. > :02:15.Rail engineers in Dawlish have begun spraying concrete onto damaged

:02:16. > :02:18.sections of the track and the cliff behind it to stop it deteriorating

:02:19. > :02:22.any further. Network Rail has said the work to repair the line, which

:02:23. > :02:27.was badly damaged in storms earlier this week, will cost about ?10

:02:28. > :02:30.million and take up to six weeks. And work's begun to shore up a

:02:31. > :02:33.section of the historic clock tower in the Cornish village of Kingsand

:02:34. > :02:36.which was damaged in the storms earlier this week. Engineers began

:02:37. > :02:40.reinforcing a vulnerable corner of the building before first light this

:02:41. > :02:46.morning to try to make it more stable.

:02:47. > :02:55.Let's see just how bad the forecast is going to be ` here's Emily.

:02:56. > :02:58.We still have some strong winds to come through the rest of the day.

:02:59. > :03:04.Still an amber warning in force through this afternoon and

:03:05. > :03:08.overnight. Gusts of perhaps up to 80 mph are possible, combined with

:03:09. > :03:13.large winds, the risk of coastal flooding once again. You can get the

:03:14. > :03:19.latest on the Environment Agency website. Some locally heavy showers

:03:20. > :03:25.this afternoon, some hail and thunder mixed in, also. These are

:03:26. > :03:31.the wind speeds in miles per hour. Temperatures reach a degrees. This

:03:32. > :03:34.evening the winds become more westerly and that could impact

:03:35. > :03:37.different parts of the coast, parts of the north coast, for example,

:03:38. > :03:42.could have strong winds through the night. Still windy with gale`force

:03:43. > :03:47.winds tomorrow, and still locally heavy showers. The winds eased

:03:48. > :03:51.towards the end of tomorrow. On Monday, lighter winds and fewer

:03:52. > :03:54.showers, by warning out for further wet weather on Tuesday.

:03:55. > :03:58.That's all for now, I'll be back with the next bulletin and any

:03:59. > :04:03.weather updates for you just after 7pm this evening.

:04:04. > :04:13.evening. -- the winds will ease Good afternoon. It is yet another

:04:14. > :04:19.stormy day to day with heavy rain around and very strong winds. The

:04:20. > :04:23.Met office has issued an amber warning for the strong winds. They

:04:24. > :04:26.could be disruptive and damaging. This is the latest in a string of

:04:27. > :04:31.storms that we have seen this winter. For southern England, this

:04:32. > :04:36.looks like one of the wettest winters for 250 years. Scotland saw

:04:37. > :04:37.the wettest December 4/100
