:00:09. > :00:15.Good afternoon. The South West has been put to the test once more by

:00:16. > :00:18.yet another storm. The bouts of strong winds and heavy rains

:00:19. > :00:23.sweeping in from the Atlantic may be coming to an end. Gusts of 80mph

:00:24. > :00:27.were recorded off Dorset coach last night and thousands of people are

:00:28. > :00:33.without power this lunch time. Rail services are disrupted and roads in

:00:34. > :00:38.Devon have suffered badly from falling trees. Severe flood warnings

:00:39. > :00:43.remain in place. This is the clock tower and

:00:44. > :00:47.institute building in kings sand, we saw images yesterday, those big

:00:48. > :00:50.waves pounding in. There was concern for people in the community. They

:00:51. > :00:54.were right to be concerned. As you can see this morning, there's more

:00:55. > :00:58.damage. A new hole has appeared at the base of this building. We have

:00:59. > :01:02.builders on site to see how to shore it up and protect this historic

:01:03. > :01:05.building. The plan for Monday was that concrete would be pumped into

:01:06. > :01:08.the base to give it extra support. That may be delayed because of this

:01:09. > :01:15.new hole. They have to figure out how to make it safe first. It's a

:01:16. > :01:18.setback for the clock tower. There's concern it could collapse all

:01:19. > :01:24.together if they can't sort the problems out. Elsewhere we have

:01:25. > :01:28.issued at SlaptonLay last night. People were rescued trapped in their

:01:29. > :01:35.cars. People were stranded in their cars, trapped in the water there.

:01:36. > :01:39.Also at dualish, again sea defences took a pounding from powerful waves.

:01:40. > :01:43.The sea containers used to shore up the sea wall took a beating and took

:01:44. > :01:48.damage. 50 people had to be evacuated from their homes as a

:01:49. > :01:55.precaution. On the rail, still no rail services between Penzance and

:01:56. > :01:59.Plymouth as well. Elsewhere, near Plymouth, as well as fallen trees,

:02:00. > :02:03.we have roofs coming off, power lines are down. About 10,000 people

:02:04. > :02:06.are still without power this morning. The South West this

:02:07. > :02:10.morning, and the rest of the day is licking its wounds.

:02:11. > :02:13.The Prime Minister visited the south`west this week defending his

:02:14. > :02:18.response to the floods, saying money and resources were being made

:02:19. > :02:23.available to help people. Today, the Shadow Environment Secretary, Maria

:02:24. > :02:26.eagle, became the latest politician to see the damage. We want to hear

:02:27. > :02:33.your stories of flooding. Get in touch:

:02:34. > :02:41.Sport and many of today's fixtures are on, despite a day of wet weather

:02:42. > :02:55.yesterday. Torquay United are away to Chesterfield.

:02:56. > :03:01.The weather may not be make being the headlines for too much longer,

:03:02. > :03:06.thankfully. Let's get the full forecast for now. ( Good afternoon.

:03:07. > :03:09.We saw some very strong winds last night. Those winds, though, have

:03:10. > :03:14.been easing and they'll continue to ease through the rest of today. We

:03:15. > :03:17.have got showers around as well, a mixture of sunny spells and showers.

:03:18. > :03:20.Those showers will tend to become fewer through the afternoon. Where

:03:21. > :03:24.the showers occur, they could be heavy and bring hail and thunder. We

:03:25. > :03:28.still have a yellow Met Office warning in force. Eventually the

:03:29. > :03:30.showers ease away and we see more in the way of sunny spells. Highs of

:03:31. > :03:34.eight to ten degrees. Overnight, with the clear skies, it is going to

:03:35. > :03:39.turn chilly. We are likely to see frost and ice could be a hazard

:03:40. > :03:43.through tonight as well. Lows of one to three degrees. For tomorrow then,

:03:44. > :03:47.a cold but bright start to the day. Lots of sunshine on the way. We may

:03:48. > :03:52.find a few showers creeping in to the west later.

:03:53. > :03:56.That's it, I'm back at 6pm tonight, do join me then, if you can.

:03:57. > :04:09.Whatever you're doing, have a great afternoon.

:04:10. > :04:15.Good afternoon. It looks as though we could be heading towards a sunny

:04:16. > :04:24.Sunday, something I assure we will all be grateful. What a store the!

:04:25. > :04:31.In Berry head in Devon winds were in excess of 80 miles an hour. In

:04:32. > :04:34.Heathrow airport, they were seeing winds of over 60 miles an hour.

:04:35. > :04:41.These will ease through the rest of the day and we will have a few

:04:42. > :04:46.decent showers to encounter. You can see this lump across the far north

:04:47. > :04:50.and west, perhaps more of an organised line of showery rain which

:04:51. > :04:56.is set to descend to south and east through the afternoon. There will be

:04:57. > :05:04.some sharp showers this afternoon. Showers continuing up into the north

:05:05. > :05:05.of Scotland. It will feel quite cold despite some sunshine. Quite a
