:00:00. > :00:10.two weeks' time. That is all from us
:00:11. > :00:15.Good evening. The high capacity Dutch pumps on the flooded Somerset
:00:16. > :00:18.Levels have had to be turned off because of damage to the riverbank.
:00:19. > :00:21.The pumps had already moved a million tonnes of water. Engineers
:00:22. > :00:25.are now looking at ways of stabilising the bank. Meanwhile for
:00:26. > :00:29.some families it's been a heartbreaking day, watching their
:00:30. > :00:34.homes succumb to the water. Fiona Lamdin reports. Homeless and now
:00:35. > :00:41.churchless. With more land well under water, today they came to
:00:42. > :00:45.worship on higher ground. Our church has gone at the moment, we can't use
:00:46. > :00:49.it. Praying for those like Lesley where the water's won this war. We
:00:50. > :00:56.were fighting hard to try and keep it out. With all our family and
:00:57. > :01:00.friends really working well. We even had six policemen come on Sunday and
:01:01. > :01:05.worked all day putting sandbags up. And you've got so many sandbags, but
:01:06. > :01:10.it still came in? About 2,000. And when did it finally come in? On the
:01:11. > :01:17.Wednesday. We got up in the morning it was all just here. It's just
:01:18. > :01:29.devastating, you just don't see how it's ever going to go. In fact it
:01:30. > :01:33.just keeps on rising. The grand plan to get the water off the Levels lies
:01:34. > :01:37.here at Dunball, but these Dutch pumps are idle, they have been have
:01:38. > :01:41.been turned off just too strong for the river bank, which is starting to
:01:42. > :01:45.give way. We are just making a small collection for the people that are
:01:46. > :01:48.flooded. Back in East Lyng there is no shortage of a new type of
:01:49. > :01:55.visitor, the flood tourist. So why not charge them? Hundreds made every
:01:56. > :01:58.hour. Claire and Mark built this boat in four hours this morning. My
:01:59. > :02:02.friend's birthday and they live over that side of the flood. So we
:02:03. > :02:05.thought we'd build a boat and meet them there for lunch. As we start
:02:06. > :02:08.week seven, locals are clearly adapting. Elsewhere and train
:02:09. > :02:12.services have resumed this afternoon on the main line in Cornwall. The
:02:13. > :02:16.line between Plymouth and West Cornwall was closed on Friday due to
:02:17. > :02:18.storm damage. On the main line at Dawlish meanwhile, engineers are
:02:19. > :02:22.still assessing the damage caused by Friday night's storm. Network Rail
:02:23. > :02:27.remains hopeful it won't significantly delay repairs.
:02:28. > :02:31.Wildlife rescuers say hundreds of dead and oiled birds are washing up
:02:32. > :02:34.along the south west coast following the recent storms. It's reported
:02:35. > :02:37.that more than 20 dead puffins, guillemots and razor bills were
:02:38. > :02:40.found on the beach at Thurlstone in Devon yesterday. Many other oiled
:02:41. > :02:48.and storm blown birds are being cared for here at the South Devon
:02:49. > :02:52.Seabird Trust in Teignmouth. There will be several hundred birds that
:02:53. > :02:56.have been affected by this. We have had nearly 50 now and other people
:02:57. > :02:59.that we know have picked up a similar number. But it's the dead
:03:00. > :03:08.ones, they're washing up dead in their hundreds all along the coast.
:03:09. > :03:12.Volunteers across Cornwall have taken advantage of today's calmer
:03:13. > :03:14.weather to clear litter from some of its most popular beaches. With
:03:15. > :03:17.thousands of visitors expected for the half term break, Cornwall
:03:18. > :03:21.Council is keen to ensure the county is looking its best despite the
:03:22. > :03:24.storm damage. Tourism leaders say this week is worth more than ?50
:03:25. > :03:30.million to the economies of Devon and Cornwall. Following the storms
:03:31. > :03:35.that we have had, the beaches were in a bit of a state and we thought
:03:36. > :03:38.back to the aftermath of the riots in Tottenham and people taking to
:03:39. > :03:42.the streets with their brushes and brooms to clear up. So this is the
:03:43. > :03:46.Cornish version of that. This is us taking to the beaches with our bin
:03:47. > :03:50.bags and gloves to pick up all the litter that the sea's washed up. I
:03:51. > :03:52.actually run a business where we teach children about this
:03:53. > :03:56.environment and local schools come down. So it's important for me to
:03:57. > :04:03.make sure everyone knows Cornwall is open, we are OK, come down enjoy
:04:04. > :04:10.this beautiful environment with us. Onto the weather now and here's
:04:11. > :04:13.Holly. Hello there, we saw some beautiful blue skies today, but
:04:14. > :04:17.tonight things are going down hill. We have got rain pushing in and we
:04:18. > :04:20.have a Met Office yellow warning for that rain. We could see 20
:04:21. > :04:23.millimetres or so falling tonight and tomorrow, elevating the flooding
:04:24. > :04:26.risk once again. So a few showers around initially, they replaced by
:04:27. > :04:31.outbreaks of rain during the night. The winds will pick up at times as
:04:32. > :04:35.well. Lows in the region of five to seven degrees. So we start tomorrow
:04:36. > :04:39.with outbreaks of rain from the word go. And they will continue on and
:04:40. > :04:43.off through the bulk of day. We could see coastal gales as well, but
:04:44. > :04:46.those winds not comparable with the winds we have been seeing over
:04:47. > :04:49.recent days. Thereafter, Tuesday and Wednesday bring bright spells and
:04:50. > :04:54.showers, but Wednesday night and Thursday turn wet and windy. That is
:04:55. > :05:10.all for this weekend. Good night. Good evening. In the midst of any
:05:11. > :05:15.normal winter weather for the week ahead would be fairly unremarkable.
:05:16. > :05:19.Some rain in places, some strong winds at times, but of course we are
:05:20. > :05:22.in the midst of no normal winter. It is worth emphasising that with -
:05:23. > :05:29.the weather this week will be less angry and volatile overall, a fair
:05:30. > :05:33.bit calmer. Calmer but by no means dry. Outbreaks of rain will spread
:05:34. > :05:34.across much of the UK through the night. There will be
