:01:52. > :01:56.before a jury, heard Ben didd as a result of self induced asphxxia

:02:06. > :02:10.son was a drama queen and things were not as bad as they seeled.

:02:11. > :02:15.Sharon's voice broke as she talked about the many times her son had

:02:16. > :02:19.attempted self harm and suicide She said his family found it difficult

:02:20. > :02:23.to get information about his care and that she could not tell the

:02:36. > :02:41.and he was by a cleaner. His behaviour changed after you moved to

:02:42. > :02:45.London and started to work for a male celebrity. `` he moved. The

:03:00. > :03:04.him he felt ashamed, she related and dirty and belittled but did not want

:03:05. > :03:10.to go to the police. `` humhliated. Since his death, his parents and

:03:11. > :03:14.sisters have campaigned for a psychiatric unit for young people in

:03:15. > :03:19.Cornwall. The charity they started helps people with mental he`lth

:03:20. > :03:23.issues. The NHS in Cornwall is now considering plans for a new ?5

:03:24. > :03:27.million mental health unit specifically for younger patients.

:03:28. > :03:31.Two sites have been identifhed. The inquest is continuing and is due to

:03:32. > :03:35.last two weeks. A man from South Devon has pleaded

:03:36. > :03:39.guilty to three counts of exposing himself in a public place whilst he

:03:40. > :03:42.was a serving police officer. David Salsbury admitted exposing himself

:03:43. > :03:47.in Brixham Police Station and at two shops in the Newton Abbot area in

:03:48. > :03:54.2012. He resigned from the force earlier this year. Hamish M`rshall

:03:55. > :04:00.reports from Exeter Crown Court For a decade, David Salsburx, seen

:04:01. > :04:03.here on the left, served as a police officer in Devon and Cornwall but

:04:04. > :04:07.today he left court convictdd of exposing himself in public, acts

:04:08. > :04:12.which have cost him his job and marriage. The trial, which was due

:04:13. > :04:23.to start is this morning and last for three days, and previously David

:04:24. > :04:28.Salsbury had pleaded not guhlty to the three counts. Today, he pleaded

:04:29. > :04:32.guilty to all three. It was here that he first exposed himself at

:04:33. > :04:36.this police station. Becausd he pleaded guilty, no details of

:04:37. > :04:39.exactly what happened were given out in court. The other two offdnces

:04:40. > :04:45.which he admitted happened on the same day four month later. The first

:04:46. > :04:50.was in the Co`op near his home. The other took place at this shop in

:04:51. > :04:55.nearby Newton Abbot. He did not plead to the fourth charge of

:04:56. > :05:04.exposing himself at a Pets @t Home store. Presentence and psychological

:05:05. > :05:08.reports will now be prepared. The barrister told the court th`t as a

:05:09. > :05:12.result of this case, his clhent has resigned from his job and h`s got

:05:13. > :05:18.divorced and spend less timd with his children. He asked the judge

:05:19. > :05:21.when sentencing to consider help rather than punishment. The

:05:22. > :05:29.sentencing will happen in a few weeks time.

:05:30. > :05:34.A nuclear submarine had to be diverted to India after it was

:05:35. > :05:38.refused entry to the United Arab Emirates. It is understood ht was

:05:39. > :05:43.sitting in international waters for more than a week while repl`cement

:05:44. > :05:49.crew was poster board. The families had to return to the crew whthout

:05:50. > :05:55.seeing them. `` replacement crew was supposed to go aboard. What has

:05:56. > :05:59.happened? The submarine was currently on deployment and due to

:06:00. > :06:03.enter port in the United Ar`b Emirates. It was delayed and told to

:06:04. > :06:08.stay in international waters for more than a week. There werd

:06:09. > :06:13.families waiting at the port in the UAE, as well as the rotation crew.

:06:14. > :06:19.However, the vessel was not granted access and was instead sent on to go

:06:20. > :06:23.to India. What has the MoD said The Royal Navy has said the del`y was

:06:24. > :06:27.not a serious safety issue `nd while they don't comment on submarine

:06:28. > :06:32.movements because of security reasons, they did confirm that the

:06:33. > :06:36.visit programme in the Gulf was delayed. They have confirmed a small

:06:37. > :06:40.number of families did travdl to the region at their own expense in

:06:41. > :06:46.anticipation of the visit and they said they were kept informed of the

:06:47. > :06:50.situation by the Royal Navy personnel there. Are there `ny

:06:51. > :06:56.ongoing issues between the TK and the UAE? No, not at the momdnt. The

:06:57. > :07:00.UK Commonwealth office has said the relationship between the UK and the

:07:01. > :07:07.UAE has a wisp strong and a good relationship, and long may that

:07:08. > :07:10.continue. `` has always had a strong and good relationship. Even though

:07:11. > :07:14.they cannot comment on the reason for delay they have said thdre is no

:07:15. > :07:17.significance in the relationship between the two. Thank you.

:07:18. > :07:21.A 49`year`old man has died `fter being found unconscious on ` Cornish

:07:22. > :07:24.beach. Coastguards, lifeboats and a helicopter from RMB Chivenor were

:07:25. > :07:31.called in to look for the m`n after he went missing on Friday evening.

:07:32. > :07:34.He was eventually found at the foot of cliffs near Bude.

:07:35. > :07:38.South West Water says custolers could see bills coming down over the

:07:39. > :07:42.next five years. The companx says it's planning to make a number of

:07:43. > :07:44.efficiencies which will enable it to lower prices while increasing

:07:45. > :07:48.investment over the same period Final approval of the plan will be

:07:49. > :07:51.made by the industry regulator Ofwat next month.

:07:52. > :07:54.Still to come, we'll be livd at Sandy Park with members of the

:07:55. > :07:57.triumphant Exeter Chiefs side. Plus, deliberately setting fire to

:07:58. > :08:02.Dartmoor. Stay with us to fhnd out why.

:08:03. > :08:04.And digging into the past ` the country estate preparing a very

:08:05. > :08:10.special commemoration of thd Great War.

:08:11. > :08:14.A Somerset primary school whth a 300`year history has been s`ved from

:08:15. > :08:18.closure after parents dipped into their pockets. The privatelx`run

:08:19. > :08:21.Chard School announced before Christmas that it may have to close

:08:22. > :08:25.because of funding problems but parents stepped in and have now set

:08:26. > :08:27.up a new board of trustees to run the school. Here's our Somerset

:08:28. > :08:43.reporter Clinton Rogers. Shakespeare was writing somd of his

:08:44. > :08:50.work the same century this school was born. But 340 years of history

:08:51. > :09:00.can count for nothing in harsh Financial Times. This private

:09:01. > :09:02.primary school was facing closure before Christmas when the trustees

:09:03. > :09:09.announced they were running out of money. That is when parents stepped

:09:10. > :09:13.in. With their own cash. On average, ?1000 each, to keep the

:09:14. > :09:19.school afloat in the short`term .. And come up with a plan for the

:09:20. > :09:23.long`term. All we want to do is put a restructuring in place so we're

:09:24. > :09:26.just not relying on parents' money bailing this school out. We want to

:09:27. > :09:32.put together a long`term pl`n that will see this school go on to the

:09:33. > :09:37.future for another 340 years. Wide using simile parents were whlling to

:09:38. > :09:42.dip into their pockets? `` why do you think so many parents? The

:09:43. > :09:46.alternatives are 40 minutes or up to an hour away, a great ill more

:09:47. > :09:54.expensive, and if you have something that works, why change? `` ` great

:09:55. > :09:59.deal. The pupils have droppdd from 110 to 93 but those here now seem

:10:00. > :10:03.happy to have a future. It would be horrid to go to a new school for a

:10:04. > :10:10.term and move again. I wantdd to stay on. Is everybody happy? I think

:10:11. > :10:15.so. I am happy. Some were s`ying they really wanted the school to

:10:16. > :10:19.close down but deep down thdy don't. So, the goal now is to markdt this

:10:20. > :10:24.school harder and attract more parents willing to pay the fees of

:10:25. > :10:32.around ?1800 a term. The new trustees, mainly parents, s`y that

:10:33. > :10:35.will not be a problem. Two well`known independent schools

:10:36. > :10:38.in Devon have announced thex are to merge later this year. From

:10:39. > :10:41.September, Kelly College and the Mount House School Trust will

:10:42. > :10:44.amalgamate to form the Mount Kelly Foundation in Tavistock. Both

:10:45. > :10:46.schools have been acknowledged for their academic and sporting

:10:47. > :10:53.excellence, having produced Olympians, politicians and other

:10:54. > :10:56.public figures. Sections of Dartmoor have bden going

:10:57. > :11:00.up in flames this afternoon. Areas have been deliberately set `light by

:11:01. > :11:03.farmers, and, as Leigh Rundle has been finding out, it's part of

:11:04. > :11:11.efforts to help protect end`ngered birds.

:11:12. > :11:17.To the uninitiated, this might look quite perturbing. A fire on

:11:18. > :11:20.Dartmoor. But it is in age `` an age`old tradition corpse wh`ling.

:11:21. > :11:34.Burning the old Heather to lake room for the new. `` an age`old tradition

:11:35. > :11:38.called hailing. It is going to get rejuvenated. It comes up a lot

:11:39. > :11:46.thicker like that over therd. That is the idea. You have been doing it

:11:47. > :11:51.for some years? Since I was about ten. A gas torches used to start the

:11:52. > :12:00.fires with water on stand`bx just in case. And beaters. So you'rd here as

:12:01. > :12:08.a precaution? Yes. It has bden known to get out of control. It works on a

:12:09. > :12:11.number of levels. It is doing through things. Firstly, crdating

:12:12. > :12:16.better grazing for the farmdrs with their animals. Secondly, it is

:12:17. > :12:20.looking after the habitat for a rare bird and the third thing is it is

:12:21. > :12:23.acting as a fire break becatse just behind this is a road and if

:12:24. > :12:29.somebody chucks out a cigardtte or a glass bottle and then we have a

:12:30. > :12:33.chance to fight the fire. Expect this to be affiliate site over the

:12:34. > :12:43.next few weeks as it contintes till the end of the month. `` a Familia

:12:44. > :12:47.sight. `` Familia. It's time for the big sports news of

:12:48. > :12:49.the weekend now, and Natalid's at Sandy Park with some of the

:12:50. > :12:53.victorious Exeter Chiefs. It's the calm after the storm here

:12:54. > :12:57.today, and what a storm it was. Exeter beat Northampton 15`8 in the

:12:58. > :13:01.final of the LV Cup to lift the first major trophy of their 143`

:13:02. > :13:05.year history. Former Chiefs player Andy Birkett was here to watch the

:13:06. > :13:17.victory and has this report and what was a great day all round.

:13:18. > :13:22.It is going to be a Northampton win. I think Exeter might just about do

:13:23. > :13:31.it. The boys will come home with the cup, absolutely ! This was ` Cup

:13:32. > :13:35.Final and Exeter got off to the best possible start, with Chris Whitehead

:13:36. > :13:42.giving the fans something to cheer about after just five minutds. The

:13:43. > :13:46.skipper stretched the lead to ten. When this crossed it made for a

:13:47. > :13:54.nervy last ten minutes. The boys got their bodies on the line in the last

:13:55. > :14:00.ten minutes especially. I s`w the reaction on the big screen `nd Rob

:14:01. > :14:04.was as pleased as all of us. The team have let some close gales slip

:14:05. > :14:09.this season but they were not going to be denied. And history w`s made.

:14:10. > :14:13.Today was pretty special and hopefully it especial for them as

:14:14. > :14:19.well. We have something tangible, a cup, and we will enjoy it. @ great

:14:20. > :14:22.honour. It has been fantasthc but we always knew in the run`up to the

:14:23. > :14:25.game that the only way the atmosphere would take off is if we

:14:26. > :14:30.gave our supporters something to get behind and to credit `` givd credit

:14:31. > :14:35.to the players, that is what they did from the start. The atmosphere

:14:36. > :14:43.was brilliant. Thousands of Chiefs fans waving flags. Excellent!

:14:44. > :14:48.Brilliant day! Fantastic for the club. Fantastic. When they started

:14:49. > :14:56.singing it was like, wow! Jtst amazing! It is unfortunate ly best

:14:57. > :15:05.friend is a Saints fan. He will get over it. By already have! `` I

:15:06. > :15:08.already. It is just something. We have been Northampton! And H would

:15:09. > :15:16.say they are the best side hn the Premiership. Awesome atmosphere

:15:17. > :15:23.today! Brilliant. Totally brilliant. It certainly was. And just look

:15:24. > :15:31.Tony is with us now and he hs still holding the trophy. Have yot put it

:15:32. > :15:36.down? No! I am also joined by the team captain and the try scorer Has

:15:37. > :15:42.it sunk in what you did yesterday? A bit. It takes a while. It dhdn't

:15:43. > :15:47.take long to realise what wd had done and how special it was for the

:15:48. > :15:51.public and supporters. The noise and atmosphere was really something

:15:52. > :15:55.special. How lucky few getthng a home final? I know! I was trying to

:15:56. > :15:59.make that point to some of the guys in the team that these things just

:16:00. > :16:04.don't happen. You can go through a whole career and never play finals

:16:05. > :16:09.so it is very rare. And a treasured memory from now on. And your try in

:16:10. > :16:20.the second`half just when it was the good? Yes lucky, I suppose. An

:16:21. > :16:24.excellent leader. `` lead up. Basically it was just cleanhng up

:16:25. > :16:30.what everyone else had done. And yours was quite lucky as well,

:16:31. > :16:33.Chris! By all accounts! An dxcellent line`out throwing to a great try.

:16:34. > :16:37.Those are the pressure games and the ones you have to get to win the

:16:38. > :16:43.final and it was a fantastic day all round. Northampton is top of the

:16:44. > :16:50.league. Did you think you could be them? Exactly. For us to be able to

:16:51. > :16:54.turn up to these games and show we are good enough to win thesd games,

:16:55. > :16:57.you know, I think we did th`t from the first and it yesterday `nd it

:16:58. > :17:02.proved to be a real positivd for us and we came away with a gre`t

:17:03. > :17:08.victory. What does it mean for the rest of the season? Rob and the

:17:09. > :17:13.coaches are pretty level`he`ded guys. They said, enjoy this, enjoy

:17:14. > :17:16.the night. You don't get many opportunities to be finals, let

:17:17. > :17:20.alone win them, but certainly want to come back to training tolorrow

:17:21. > :17:25.morning and it will be all `bout Leicester away and that top six

:17:26. > :17:29.finish is massive for us. Tony, I heard you say last night yot were

:17:30. > :17:35.going to sleep with that trophy Can you confirm or deny that? I stick to

:17:36. > :17:41.my word! A fantastic day for you and you must have been over the moon?

:17:42. > :17:46.Absolutely brilliant. The gtys did a magnificent job and it is the best I

:17:47. > :17:58.have ever seen them play. W`s it emotional? Gas, a bit at thd end.

:17:59. > :18:01.You are a softy! `` yes, at the end. We're going to take it around

:18:02. > :18:09.Exeter, the trophy. On the 4th of May. Sorry, 5th of April. An open

:18:10. > :18:14.top bus through the Exeter football ground. So we will have it with us

:18:15. > :18:17.then. Fabulous. Thank you and congratulations again.

:18:18. > :18:20.While the Chiefs were getting ready for the final yesterday, ond of

:18:21. > :18:24.their team`mates was travelling back from Rome to be here to chedr them

:18:25. > :18:27.on. I should mention the sm`ll matter that he'd just scored his

:18:28. > :18:31.first try for England. I am of course talking about Jack Nowell.

:18:32. > :18:34.We'll be hearing from him in a moment, but first this report from

:18:35. > :18:48.John Danks on Jack's momentous weekend.

:18:49. > :18:54.He gets over the line for hhs first England try!

:18:55. > :18:59.It was the crowning glory in what has been a great six Nations

:19:00. > :19:02.campaign for Jack Nowell. Ldss than three months ago he was givdn the

:19:03. > :19:06.news he would be playing for his country. To be given this

:19:07. > :19:12.opportunity, this AI was very grateful for that and was rdally

:19:13. > :19:21.looking forward to it. `` obviously I was very grateful. Still hn

:19:22. > :19:24.possession! Still on his fedt! The Exeter Chiefs winner showed

:19:25. > :19:35.Scotland just how good a pl`ymaker he was.

:19:36. > :19:42.He played in all of the fixtures. Saturday's win against Italx was not

:19:43. > :19:44.enough to secure England championship but it proved Jack

:19:45. > :19:49.Nowell is one to watch for the future. `` secure England the

:19:50. > :19:54.championship. And Jack is here with me now. You

:19:55. > :19:59.are back in Exeter but your feet firmly back on the ground?

:20:00. > :20:04.Definitely. I'm obviously vdry happy to come back and see the boxs

:20:05. > :20:10.yesterday. And that try yesterday, it was just the icing on thd cake.

:20:11. > :20:13.Yes, it was. For me, the most important thing was the teal were

:20:14. > :20:18.winning and for me to get the try in the last game was the icing on the

:20:19. > :20:24.cake. Did you know you would score against Italy? No! I just thought

:20:25. > :20:29.I'd knew why would get my h`nds on the ball. If you look back over the

:20:30. > :20:34.last couple of months, is lhke a dream or is this it now and you know

:20:35. > :20:38.what you are going to do with your future? It was a bit of a dream

:20:39. > :20:42.going in and just me and all the boys and stuff. But as soon as I was

:20:43. > :20:47.given a chance I had to takd it and I thought, this is exactly what I

:20:48. > :20:53.want to be doing. But a bit nerve wracking? Just a bit. But I got back

:20:54. > :20:57.into the game and I loved it, to be honest. Your team`mates looked

:20:58. > :21:03.really chuffed for you on S`turday when they scored. Are they really

:21:04. > :21:08.nice? Do you get on? Yes. They said they wanted me to score a try so

:21:09. > :21:14.they said they were all verx happy for me. On going to ask you a

:21:15. > :21:19.difficult question but posshbly a silly question. Scoring a try for

:21:20. > :21:26.England or winning the LV Ctp? That is a really difficult one. The

:21:27. > :21:30.situation on Sunday here was amazing and for me to come back and catch

:21:31. > :21:35.the end of it and see all the boys afterwards was amazing, so ht was

:21:36. > :21:39.amazing. Thank you for all the pleasure you have given us over the

:21:40. > :21:42.last couple of months. You have done Cornwall and the Exeter Chidfs

:21:43. > :21:49.proud. But is it. I'll hand you back from `` to the studio.

:21:50. > :21:52.Thank you. A Cornish estate which lost part of

:21:53. > :21:55.its workforce during the Grdat War is stepping back in time. It's

:21:56. > :22:00.transforming its fields and gardens to show how they would have looked

:22:01. > :22:03.in 1914. A cornfield at Helhgan is being sown with poppies and it's

:22:04. > :22:07.hoped they'll flower in Augtst, 100 years after the start of thd war.

:22:08. > :22:13.Hannah Stacey has been findhng out more.

:22:14. > :22:20.This is how fields were plotghed 100 years ago. But the men here at

:22:21. > :22:28.Heligan down their tools and went off to war. Link goes back to 1 14,

:22:29. > :22:32.when the garden is left to war. And they wrote their names on what we

:22:33. > :22:38.call these thunder box, but it was the toilet up in the gardens! So

:22:39. > :22:43.that was the start of the ddcline of the gardens. As the centenary of the

:22:44. > :22:47.outbreak of the First World War approaches, Heligan wants to mark

:22:48. > :22:51.what became a significant moment in its history. It is amazing. It is

:22:52. > :22:55.like going back 100 years and seeing... Well, especially with a

:22:56. > :23:04.team of three and a plough, it is a sight to see. They are planting

:23:05. > :23:10.poppies and barley. Probablx most farmers at the time, for thdm horses

:23:11. > :23:14.were a valuable item and most of those were going off to war, and the

:23:15. > :23:21.farmers, if they had two horses left they had a luxury. I have to watch

:23:22. > :23:24.out that people will get carried away taking pictures and thdy stand

:23:25. > :23:30.in front of the horses. You have to watch out for that. And if the seed

:23:31. > :23:32.takes, it is hoped these fidlds will provide a fitting backdrop for a

:23:33. > :23:38.poignant performance at the beginning of August. If you come

:23:39. > :23:41.here now you will see an artist s impression of what we hope ht will

:23:42. > :23:50.look like and if it is anything like that, it will be fantastic.

:23:51. > :23:55.A lovely gentle, rural scend. Now the weather.

:23:56. > :24:01.After a lovely weekend for lany of us, the son has been out and it has

:24:02. > :24:05.been very pleasant for this time of year. `` the sun. We will h`ve a

:24:06. > :24:09.change this week with more cloud around and a breeze getting up and

:24:10. > :24:13.now some rain in the forecast, particularly in the second half of

:24:14. > :24:18.the week. Still some high`pressure holding in there but a fairly weak

:24:19. > :24:21.affair. It has retreated out into the Atlantic so a lot more cloud

:24:22. > :24:28.around and thick enough latdr to produce a few light showers, too.

:24:29. > :24:33.The high`pressure does come back a bit by the middle of the wedk but it

:24:34. > :24:37.is very short lived. A long way away now and it gets closer by the middle

:24:38. > :24:41.of the day on Wednesday. But this area of low pressure and thhs

:24:42. > :24:44.weather system will make progress towards us through Thursday,

:24:45. > :24:49.particularly Thursday night and into Friday, with cold air following in

:24:50. > :24:52.as well. The cloud structurd we have tonight is thick enough to give a

:24:53. > :24:56.few light showers with some clear skies but only briefly. Mainly a

:24:57. > :24:59.cloudy night to come. The breeze picks up on the second half of the

:25:00. > :25:03.night and overnight temperatures dipping no lower than seven or eight

:25:04. > :25:08.agrees for most of us. Tomorrow morning, we start the day r`ther

:25:09. > :25:12.grey and, in places, damp whth showery outbreaks of rain. By the

:25:13. > :25:15.end of the morning into the afternoon the rain band will clear

:25:16. > :25:19.away with sunshine breaking through the cloud. It is predominantly

:25:20. > :25:23.cloudy and breezy with the winds from the west or north west, and

:25:24. > :25:28.though temperatures might gdt up to 11 or 12, if we throw in thd wind

:25:29. > :25:31.chill, it might not feel as warm as those temperatures suggest. That is

:25:32. > :25:39.the forecast for the Isles of Scilly. Expect to have a cloudy day

:25:40. > :25:43.with outbreaks of light rain early in the afternoon and quite breezy

:25:44. > :25:52.with those westerly winds. These are the high water times.

:25:53. > :25:58.For our surface, it picks up this week. It has been disappointing for

:25:59. > :26:06.the last five or six days btt it will get together this week. `` it

:26:07. > :26:11.will get bigger. Those waves pick up as we head into Wednesday and

:26:12. > :26:21.Thursday. The forecast for the coastal waters.

:26:22. > :26:27.As for the outlook, expect to have a reasonable day again on Wednesday

:26:28. > :26:31.but that is the last proper decent day because it starts to go

:26:32. > :26:34.downhill. We are concerned `bout Thursday because not only whll we

:26:35. > :26:38.see outbreaks of rain but through the afternoon into the earlx

:26:39. > :26:42.evening, some of it could bd quite heavy and also accompanied by winds

:26:43. > :26:46.that could be gusting at galeforce, so a complete change to what we have

:26:47. > :26:57.been used to over the last week or so. Then on Friday, the winds bring

:26:58. > :26:59.cold air, so after a damp start on Friday morning, the Caldaird follows

:27:00. > :27:01.behind, so after 17 or 18 ddgrees through the weekend, back down to

:27:02. > :27:06.nine degrees by Friday. Havd a good evening.

:27:07. > :27:11.That is it from us for now. Our next update is at 10:25pm. From `ll of us

:27:12. > :27:12.here and the team at Sandy Park where celebrations continue, good

:27:13. > :27:16.night.
