:00:21. > :00:21.Good evening. Hundreds of young That is it for now.

:00:22. > :00:24.Good evening. Hundreds of young farmers from across the country have

:00:25. > :00:27.been in Somerset this weekend, helping to rebuild farms and recover

:00:28. > :00:29.land devastated by the floods. One couple, who've been farming in

:00:30. > :00:32.Moorland for forty years, say they would have struggled to recover

:00:33. > :00:35.without the support of the farming community. Here's Jules Hyam.

:00:36. > :00:38.Instead of enjoying their farmstead home, the Hutchings are living in a

:00:39. > :00:42.caravan. The view out across their farm is not what it once was. All of

:00:43. > :00:45.this has to be cleared out, and those barn buildings back there will

:00:46. > :00:49.have to be pulled down. It has really been awful ` worse

:00:50. > :00:57.than awful. It took us a fortnight to realise we were in this world. It

:00:58. > :01:00.was such a shock. Everything went. It will take months for Battens Farm

:01:01. > :01:05.to recover ` weeks just to clear the land. But the Hutchings are being

:01:06. > :01:08.helped by younger farmers. We're just really struggling at the

:01:09. > :01:11.moment. As you can imagine, the cattle have been moved off. As you

:01:12. > :01:15.can see, it's just utter devastation. We, as young farmers,

:01:16. > :01:21.want to do our bit to help the rest of the farming community.

:01:22. > :01:26.That has meant lifting, carrying and clearing this farm and dozens of

:01:27. > :01:30.others like it. We came back here and thought how on

:01:31. > :01:34.earth do we get started? Where do we get start? The young farmers have

:01:35. > :01:42.been here now ` I think this is the third week. They are absolutely

:01:43. > :01:45.brilliant. Police in Devon are hunting a man

:01:46. > :01:48.who stole thousands of pounds worth of jewellery from a shop in Honiton

:01:49. > :01:51.after attacking a woman as she arrived for work. Hundreds of rings,

:01:52. > :01:55.bracelets and necklaces were taken from Banwell Antiques at 9am

:01:56. > :02:02.yesterday morning. Detectives say the woman was shaken but unhurt.

:02:03. > :02:05.6,000 chickens have died in a blaze at a barn near Exeter. Firefighters

:02:06. > :02:08.from across east Devon were called to Rosamondford Farm in Aylesbeare

:02:09. > :02:14.this morning. Six gas cylinders had to be removed from the site.

:02:15. > :02:16.Firefighters helped move cattle and other livestock to safety. It's

:02:17. > :02:22.understood the blaze started accidentally.

:02:23. > :02:26.One of Truro Cathedral's organists has been appointed as the new organ

:02:27. > :02:29.scholar at St Paul's Cathedral. Rachel Mahon is making history `

:02:30. > :02:39.she'll be the first female organist at St Paul's. Johnny Rutherford has

:02:40. > :02:45.been to hear her play. Truro's pipes being given a proper

:02:46. > :02:47.work`out. The music ` The Tocatta ` by a female Canadian composer,

:02:48. > :02:54.played today by Truro's organ scholar who is from Toronto.

:02:55. > :02:57.I knew I wanted to come to England to work in an English cathedral

:02:58. > :03:00.because we don't have the same structure at home, where a cathedral

:03:01. > :03:03.choir is singing every day. I accepted Truro's offer because they

:03:04. > :03:06.have a famous organ, a world`renowned choir, and it is an

:03:07. > :03:11.excellent place to work and gain experience.

:03:12. > :03:14.But, in September, Rachel will be off to London to become the first

:03:15. > :03:20.female organist at St Pauls Cathedral.

:03:21. > :03:23.There is such a wide range of sounds you can make on the organ, from

:03:24. > :03:26.very, very soft to extremely loud and powerful, filling an entire

:03:27. > :03:38.building such as St Pauls. It's the experience of a lifetime.

:03:39. > :03:41.So, what makes Rachel so good? She has a good connection between

:03:42. > :03:44.her brain and her fingers, frankly. She also has a very steady

:03:45. > :03:47.temperament under pressure, and when there are lots of people listening

:03:48. > :03:50.to her she seems to perform extremely well.

:03:51. > :03:53.Truro Cathedral has a strong tradition of scholars gaining top

:03:54. > :04:07.organist positions, but Rachel is making history.

:04:08. > :04:11.In today's rugby there were mixed fortunes for our sides. The Exeter

:04:12. > :04:14.Chiefs were brought back down to earth with a bump following last

:04:15. > :04:17.week's Anglo`Welsh Cup win. They were thrashed by 45 points to 15 by

:04:18. > :04:23.reigning champions Leicester Tigers at Welford Road. The only highlights

:04:24. > :04:28.were Ian Whitten's fourth try in four Premiership games and a first

:04:29. > :04:31.half score for hooker Jack Yendell. While in the Championship, the

:04:32. > :04:35.Pirates saw off Nottingham 17`11 at the Mennaye.

:04:36. > :04:37.And, finally, hundreds of fundraising runners took part in

:04:38. > :04:41.this year's Sport Relief event at the University of St Mark and St

:04:42. > :04:49.John in Plymouth today. Nat and Fitz were there cheering them on. Young

:04:50. > :04:53.and old, those taking part pounded a course of either one, three or six

:04:54. > :05:07.miles. It was cold and it was windy but it was all for a great cause.

:05:08. > :05:12.Good evening. It turned into a really nice day today ` fewer

:05:13. > :05:15.showers around, some good spells of sunshine, but under clear skies the

:05:16. > :05:19.temperatures are already taking a tumble. A very cold night to come,

:05:20. > :05:22.and a sharp frost for some of us tomorrow morning. You can see those

:05:23. > :05:25.clear skies persisting in the East as we go through the night, but by

:05:26. > :05:28.the morning we've got cloud advancing towards the tip of

:05:29. > :05:31.Cornwall and the Isles of Scilly. Temperatures here not quite as cold,

:05:32. > :05:34.but one or two Celsius at the coast. Towards the East, it will be colder

:05:35. > :05:37.than that inland. As we start tomorrow morning, we'll have

:05:38. > :05:40.sunshine just hanging on in the east towards the West, so that cloud and

:05:41. > :05:43.rain is moving across us. Temperatures at best nine or ten.

:05:44. > :05:46.Where the cloud comes in quite quickly, it could be colder than

:05:47. > :05:50.that through the day tomorrow. We do have some rain around through this

:05:51. > :05:53.week, and as you can see an easterly wind developing by the end.

:05:54. > :06:12.Goodbye. Hello. Following today's showers,

:06:13. > :06:17.tonight is going to be much colder. Clear skies, light winds, a recipe

:06:18. > :06:21.for a widespread frost. Sharp showers for the next couple of

:06:22. > :06:26.hours. From East Yorkshire to the south-east. Hail and thunder. Skies

:06:27. > :06:32.will clear across many areas. Temperatures tumbling across rural

:06:33. > :06:36.parts it could be as low as minus six. Not as cold across Northern

:06:37. > :06:40.Ireland and the far south-west. Increasing cloud ahead of the

:06:41. > :06:45.weather front pushing rain very slowly in from the Atlantic. Central

:06:46. > :06:46.and eastern areas staying dry and
