:00:12. > :00:13.Good evening. A man arrested in Plymouth yesterday on suspicion of

:00:14. > :00:16.breaching the Official Secrdts Act has appeared in court and ddnied a

:00:17. > :00:19.charge of burglary. The 31`xear`old appeared before Torquay Maghstrates

:00:20. > :00:24.this morning, where he was remanded in custody. John Henderson was in

:00:25. > :00:26.court. Remanded in custody. Marcin

:00:27. > :00:30.Kostrzewa leaving Torquay Magistrates' Court this morning He

:00:31. > :00:35.appeared to face a charge of burglary. The 31`year`old is accused

:00:36. > :00:37.of entering a property in Plymouth and stealing sensitive and

:00:38. > :00:43.protectively marked documents relating to Royal Navy warships and

:00:44. > :00:48.submarines. The court heard that Kostrzewa lives here in Plylouth. He

:00:49. > :00:51.was initially arrested on Thursday under the Official Secrets @ct of

:00:52. > :00:54.1911, but has not been charged with any offences under that act.

:00:55. > :00:57.Kostrzewa spoke a couple of times in court ` first to say that hd

:00:58. > :01:03.understood the charge and sdcond to say that he was not guilty. Bail was

:01:04. > :01:10.refused and Kostrzewa was rdmanded to appear at Plymouth Crown Court on

:01:11. > :01:16.the 28th April. John Henderson, BBC Spotlight.

:01:17. > :01:20.Exeter's only remaining womdn's hostel ` which is under thrdat of

:01:21. > :01:22.closure ` held an open day today, to highlight the work it does for

:01:23. > :01:25.vulnerable women. The Esther Community is losing its funding and

:01:26. > :01:32.is looking for private support to allow its work to continue. Emma

:01:33. > :01:36.Ruminski reports. This art class is a chance for local

:01:37. > :01:38.residents to come in and sed what the Esther Community do. Thd hostel

:01:39. > :01:42.is oversubscribed after the closure of Exeter's Women's Refuge `t the

:01:43. > :01:48.start of April. It is now stffering its own funding crisis. We have lost

:01:49. > :01:51.our funding and things are puite difficult at the moment. However,

:01:52. > :01:54.Keychange Charity and the Esther Community are committed to providing

:01:55. > :01:58.a service of some sort in the future. The community provides safe

:01:59. > :02:01.accommodation for those esc`ping domestic abuse, drug, alcohol, or

:02:02. > :02:04.health problems. The project is a stepping stone for women hoping to

:02:05. > :02:08.improve their lives and get a more permanent home. Some women who use

:02:09. > :02:16.this service do not know wh`t they would do without it. A lot of them

:02:17. > :02:19.would probably go back to bding on the streets and being at rock bottom

:02:20. > :02:22.again, like they were when they first came here. They would not have

:02:23. > :02:28.the support that is available to them 24/7 and I think that would be

:02:29. > :02:31.hard for people to adjust to. Crime figures released this week by the

:02:32. > :02:34.police show a 19% increase hn domestic abuse in Devon and

:02:35. > :02:36.Cornwall. Hostels like this one say that they need the public stpport

:02:37. > :02:43.now more than ever. Emma Rulinski, BBC Spotlight, Exeter.

:02:44. > :02:46.A woman has been treated in hospital after being pulled from the water at

:02:47. > :02:50.Devonport in Plymouth. The woman, thought to be twenty years old, was

:02:51. > :02:53.in the water at the Torpoint Ferry Terminal. A member of the ptblic

:02:54. > :02:57.pulled her to safety and had to resuscitate her. She was taken to

:02:58. > :02:59.Derriford Hospital. Campaigners in Penzance are

:03:00. > :03:02.preparing to petition Cornw`ll Council to ensure the survival of

:03:03. > :03:10.their outdoor swimming pool. Large`scale repairs are needed

:03:11. > :03:13.following the winter storms. The Friends of the Jubilee Pool group is

:03:14. > :03:15.asking the council to match fund any money raised from a Coastal

:03:16. > :03:19.Communities fund application, to help fund the work. The grotps fears

:03:20. > :03:23.the pool is in danger of closing without council support.

:03:24. > :03:26.On to today's football now, and Yeovil Town could only manage a 1`1

:03:27. > :03:29.draw against Bournemouth at Huish Park as they bid to stay in the

:03:30. > :03:33.Championship. Meanwhile, beleaguered Torquay United live to fight another

:03:34. > :03:36.day in the football league. They managed a much needed 2`1 whn at

:03:37. > :03:39.Bristol Rovers as they try to stave off relegation. Elsewhere in League

:03:40. > :03:42.Two, Exeter City drew 1`1 whth Cheltenham Town, but Plymouth Argyle

:03:43. > :03:48.went down to a 2`0 defeat at Oxford United.

:03:49. > :03:51.In rugby's Aviva Premiership, Exeter Chiefs managed to scrape a narrow

:03:52. > :03:58.victory at bottom of the table Worcester Warriors. 33`38, the final

:03:59. > :04:02.score at Sixways. Time for a look at the weather for

:04:03. > :04:04.the rest of the weekend now. Here is Emily with the forecast.

:04:05. > :04:13.Hello. We do have some more sunshine to come tomorrow. For this dvening,

:04:14. > :04:16.it is going to be rather cloudy with some outbreaks of light rain and

:04:17. > :04:19.drizzle for a time tonight. But it does become dry again later on

:04:20. > :04:21.tonight and we will have sole clearer skies during the early

:04:22. > :04:24.hours. Temperatures down to 4`5 degrees in the countryside. Tomorrow

:04:25. > :04:27.morning, we will have some sunshine and variable cloud, but it should be

:04:28. > :04:30.dry with some sunshine conthnuing into the afternoon. It should feel a

:04:31. > :04:34.little warmer tomorrow as wdll, with lighter winds and highs of 03

:04:35. > :04:40.degrees. Next week, the find weather is set to continue with somd

:04:41. > :04:44.sunshine through the day on Monday. Still cool overnight, particularly

:04:45. > :04:47.Monday into Tuesday. We will see some more warm sunshine through the

:04:48. > :04:52.day on Tuesday and Wednesdax. Bye for now.

:04:53. > :04:55.The next update from the Spotlight team is at 6:50PM tomorrow dvening,

:04:56. > :04:58.and a reminder that the Sunday Politics is at the later tile of

:04:59. > :05:14.2:30PM tomorrow afternoon. Here on BBC One. Goodbye.

:05:15. > :05:19.We start with a look at the latest satellite sequence, because it shows

:05:20. > :05:23.what has been going on over the last few hours. This band of cloud has

:05:24. > :05:27.been slipping south across England and Wales. A bit of patchy rain to

:05:28. > :05:31.come from that, but nothing of significance. Quite the story across

:05:32. > :05:38.the north of Scotland . And some fairly frequent showers to the north

:05:39. > :05:41.and west of Scotland. That is it by dawn. Most places will see clear

:05:42. > :05:48.spells and it wouldn't turn -- it will turn cold, particularly in raw

:05:49. > :05:52.areas. In the morning, one or two showers along the northern coast of

:05:53. > :05:56.Ireland. But the south and east are doing well in the morning. Bright

:05:57. > :06:01.and breezy across the north of England. A decent start to the day.

:06:02. > :06:04.Further south, plenty more sunshine, although around some of

:06:05. > :06:05.the hills, there might be missed and
