:00:13. > :00:13.Good evening. More than 50 teenagers direction.

:00:14. > :00:16.Good evening. More than 50 teenagers taking part in the annual Ten Tors

:00:17. > :00:19.challenge have had to be taken off Dartmoor during difficult weather

:00:20. > :00:22.conditions. The route has been changed for the first time in 30

:00:23. > :00:27.years to make it safer. Spotlight's Emma Thomasson has spent the day

:00:28. > :00:30.there. They've spent months preparing for

:00:31. > :00:37.this moment and you can almost taste the excitement in the air. More than

:00:38. > :00:45.2000 teenagers heading off onto Dartmoor with either 35, 45 or even

:00:46. > :00:55.55 miles ahead of them. It is really insane. A bit wet and windy. You get

:00:56. > :00:58.used to it. It is a good challenge. And the main challenge turned out to

:00:59. > :01:01.be the weather. Although the sun made a brief appearance at the

:01:02. > :01:04.start, wet and windy conditions meant that more than 50 teenagers

:01:05. > :01:08.had to be airlifted off the moor with minor injuries. The helicopter,

:01:09. > :01:12.of course, is the easiest and quickest way of doing business. We

:01:13. > :01:23.have the Dartmoor mountain rescue teams who can help those who can

:01:24. > :01:26.help themselves. If it's a lower`limb injury that does not need

:01:27. > :01:29.an evacuation, life or limb type, then they will walk them or stretch

:01:30. > :01:32.of them to the nearest vehicle. ``stretcher them. Or indeed go to

:01:33. > :01:36.hospital as they need to. The route has been changed for the first time

:01:37. > :01:41.in 30 years to make it safer. Walkers now do not have to cross as

:01:42. > :01:44.many rivers. The checkpoints are also closer to roads to help get

:01:45. > :01:47.them out if there are any problems. This has been the biggest leg. The

:01:48. > :01:50.rest should be easier. From the weather, the worst of the weather

:01:51. > :01:55.has been this morning, so hopefully it will start to clear up a bit.

:01:56. > :02:00.This has been a really hard day with all the weather but it's going all

:02:01. > :02:03.right. Walking as a team, so it should be pretty good and hopefully

:02:04. > :02:09.finish with a good time tomorrow. Conor was one of the first to make

:02:10. > :02:11.it back today. He took part in the Jubilee Challenge, a shorter route

:02:12. > :02:14.for younger people with special, physical or educational needs.

:02:15. > :02:23.So how was it? It was very bumpy, but overall it was very good indeed.

:02:24. > :02:26.And you had, obviously, the added bonus of all of that horizontal rain

:02:27. > :02:29.and wind. Yes, yes, that was extremely pleasurable. Let's hope

:02:30. > :02:35.that the weather is little more kind to the teenagers still out there.

:02:36. > :02:43.They have to set up camp at dusk and then they can head back first thing

:02:44. > :02:46.tomorrow morning. A ?1.5 million project to underpin a

:02:47. > :02:49.number of houses following the collapse of a mine in a Cornish

:02:50. > :02:52.village has been completed. Part of a street in Troon, near Camborne,

:02:53. > :03:02.fell into an underground shaft which used to supply water to residents

:03:03. > :03:05.last year. The old mine adit has now been cleared and work has been

:03:06. > :03:11.carried out to deal with the problems of flooding and subsidence

:03:12. > :03:14.in the area. One of the main roads through Devon

:03:15. > :03:17.was closed for around half an hour this afternoon after a cow escaped

:03:18. > :03:20.onto the carriageway. The animal, which had come from a nearby farm,

:03:21. > :03:27.ran onto the A38 at Ivybridge. Traffic was stopped until the cow

:03:28. > :03:31.was eventually herded down a bank. In sport, Devon event rider Mary

:03:32. > :03:33.King had a disappointing ride around the influential cross country course

:03:34. > :03:37.at the Badminton Horse Trials today. The newly designed course caused a

:03:38. > :03:39.huge number of problems. Mary and Imperial Cavalier survived this

:03:40. > :03:42.scary moment through the owl hole fence, but a little further on, the

:03:43. > :03:52.17`year`old horse stopped at the Mirage Pond and Mary took the

:03:53. > :03:55.decision to retire. In the rugby, the Exeter Chiefs

:03:56. > :03:58.brought the curtain down on their Premiership campaign with a 23`13

:03:59. > :04:00.win at the Newcastle Falcons. Gloucester's defeat at Worcester

:04:01. > :04:05.means that the Chiefs finish the season in eighth. Well, it's been an

:04:06. > :04:07.extremely blustery day. Let's take a look at the weather forecast now

:04:08. > :04:19.with Holly. Good evening. Today has brought

:04:20. > :04:22.showers and winds, we're seeing the worst of the winds at the moment. We

:04:23. > :04:29.have the Met Office yellow weather warning in force for winds.

:04:30. > :04:34.Especially on the coast and hills. Making unpleasant conditions for the

:04:35. > :04:38.ten tours. Those winds are rattling through some heavy and thundery

:04:39. > :04:42.showers. But they should stop the temperatures from dropping away too

:04:43. > :04:46.far. So we start tomorrow with showers from the word go. Again,

:04:47. > :04:49.they have been pushed through with some strong winds. Those winds not

:04:50. > :04:55.quite as strong as today and gradually I think that they should

:04:56. > :04:59.lose their intensity. But the heavy showers from Monday, thereafter

:05:00. > :05:02.though turn dryer and brighter. Well, that's all from the Saturday

:05:03. > :05:05.team here at Spotlight, the next bulletin will be 6.45pm tomorrow

:05:06. > :05:11.evening with Julia Peet. Enjoy the rest of your weekend, good

:05:12. > :05:18.Good evening. We have seen plenty of showers scattered across the country

:05:19. > :05:22.today. There will be drier and brighter spells in between. Low

:05:23. > :05:27.pressure is sitting across the country, with some tightly packed

:05:28. > :05:31.isobars to the south. That indicates some strong winds. They will

:05:32. > :05:35.continue throughout the night, going up to gale force at times. The main

:05:36. > :05:40.focus of the wettest weather across parts of West Wales is this rain. It

:05:41. > :05:46.will not be a particularly cold start to Sunday. Showers, not

:05:47. > :05:50.everywhere, some of us will see drier weather weather window of

:05:51. > :05:56.sunshine around, but be prepared for those showers if you're stepping out

:05:57. > :05:59.in the morning. Throughout the day on Sunday, a bit of an improvement

:06:00. > :06:01.across parts of south-west England
