:00:00. > :00:09.finish one ahead of Shane Lowry of Ireland. And that is

:00:10. > :00:12.finish one ahead of Shane Lowry of Good evening. A young aid worker

:00:13. > :00:16.from north Devon has died of malaria while volunteering in Kenya.

:00:17. > :00:19.21`year`old Christi Kelly, from Ilfracombe, was on a ten month

:00:20. > :00:23.placement with the charity Moving Mountains UK when she was taken ill

:00:24. > :00:27.on Tuesday. Known as "Belle" to her friends, she died a day later in

:00:28. > :00:31.hospital. It's understood she was taking anti`malaria tablets. In a

:00:32. > :00:35.statement, the charity said the safety of its volunteers is its

:00:36. > :00:41."highest priority". Christi's mother has paid tribute to a "beautiful,

:00:42. > :00:45.brave and courageous daughter". A memorial is to be held for the

:00:46. > :00:48.12`year`old girl who died after falling from a wall while at a youth

:00:49. > :00:52.club in Exeter on Friday evening. Nicole Hartup hit her head when she

:00:53. > :00:55.fell from a wall behind the Phoenix Youth Club. More than 500 family and

:00:56. > :00:58.friends have already indicated they'll be at the event to be held

:00:59. > :01:05.at Wonford Playing Fields next Saturday.

:01:06. > :01:08.Counting has just begun in the region's Euro elections. There will

:01:09. > :01:11.be six MEPs elected for the south west by a form of proportional

:01:12. > :01:14.representation. The results will be declared later tonight in Poole. We

:01:15. > :01:32.can go there live now to our Political Editor Martyn Oates.

:01:33. > :01:42.Results will be phoned in from across the south west. We voted in

:01:43. > :01:51.the elections three days ago. It's taken this long to get to the count.

:01:52. > :02:01.With me is political analyst Adrian Lee. UKIP will feel they're on

:02:02. > :02:12.course to do well? It's a major contest between UKIP and the Tories.

:02:13. > :02:27.They'll want to overtake the Conservatives. There's a tussle

:02:28. > :02:35.between them at the top. The Lib Dems will be eager to hang on to the

:02:36. > :02:52.one seat they have? It's vulnerable. Labour want a comeback. They will be

:02:53. > :02:55.looking to improve. Thanks. We might have some declarations in time for

:02:56. > :02:59.the late news. And we'll have the very latest from

:03:00. > :03:02.Martyn in Poole, in our late bulletin at 10:50pm tonight.

:03:03. > :03:05.Hundreds of patients who died while being cared for at a former Devon

:03:06. > :03:08.asylum were honoured today. The memorial service at St Pauls Church

:03:09. > :03:11.in Starcross was for both patients and staff of the old Royal Western

:03:12. > :03:21.Counties Hospital. Leigh Rundle was there.

:03:22. > :03:25.A focal point for remembrance. Donna's aunt is buried here. She was

:03:26. > :03:33.one of 230 residents of the old star`cross asylum, interred in an

:03:34. > :03:39.unmarked communal plot. In our generation, everything is marked.

:03:40. > :03:45.Everyone has a mark. It was quite a shock to see that there was just

:03:46. > :03:54.this one mass grave. We remember you and love you. The numbers attending

:03:55. > :04:01.today's service clearly showed how much this memorial means. Now

:04:02. > :04:09.everyone can have a memorial, and put flowers down. It's nearly 30

:04:10. > :04:17.years since the hospital closed. Finally, all those connected with it

:04:18. > :04:20.have been recognised and remembered. A number of Plymouth's roads were

:04:21. > :04:24.closed to traffic today as thousands of people took to their bikes.

:04:25. > :04:27.Cyclists of all ages took part in the Sky Ride, pedalling all or just

:04:28. > :04:30.some of the six`and`a`half kilometre route. The event, which is in its

:04:31. > :04:37.third year, got underway on Plymouth Hoe with the help of some Special

:04:38. > :04:42.Olympians. Today is about enjoyment. Getting

:04:43. > :04:54.people active and enjoying sport. Well, on to the weather now, and

:04:55. > :04:56.many thanks to Michaela Montgomery`Swan for sending us this

:04:57. > :04:59.footage of what looks like a tornado near Cullompton yesterday. It's not

:05:00. > :05:02.clear whether or not the funnel cloud actually touched the ground,

:05:03. > :05:05.but it certainly looks very close! So is the bank holiday weather going

:05:06. > :05:09.to improve? Here's Holly. Good evening. Today brought a

:05:10. > :05:12.mixture of sunny spells and showers. This evening is more of the same.

:05:13. > :05:21.The further east, the more likely you are to get a dry and bright end.

:05:22. > :05:25.Elsewhere, heavy showers. Lows of nine and 12 degrees. Tomorrow, sunny

:05:26. > :05:32.spells around but the chance of showers. Heavy and thundery for

:05:33. > :05:41.some, but the worst risk on the north coast of Devon and Cornwall.

:05:42. > :05:48.Highs between 13 and 16. The rest of the week has some sunshine but

:05:49. > :05:50.further showers. Enjoy the rest of your bank holiday!

:05:51. > :06:15.That's all for now. Goodbye. Good evening. Some of us had a

:06:16. > :06:21.pretty good soaking. It downpours around with thunder and lightning.

:06:22. > :06:23.It wasn't so bad everywhere. The satellite picture across the

:06:24. > :06:29.Midlands, East Anglia and the south coast, the Isle of Wight. A

:06:30. > :06:32.beautiful end to the day. You can see further west and north and that

:06:33. > :06:36.is where the storm clouds will remain. Most of England through the

:06:37. > :06:37.cause of the night will be dry or a time before
