:03:03. > :03:07.died at an early age and thdn cancer struck her mum.

:03:08. > :03:10.My mum was diagnosed three xears ago. She had terminal cancer when

:03:11. > :03:13.she was diagnosed. And then that led to me being diagnosed with breast

:03:14. > :03:21.cancer. If it wasn't for Mul, I may not be here now.

:03:22. > :03:24.After treatment, including ` double mastectomy and hysterectomy, Mandy

:03:25. > :03:27.is now clear. But her familx carries the BRCA2 gene, which predisposes

:03:34. > :03:35.Kaicee, who can't be tested until she is 18.

:03:36. > :03:39.It's always going to be on ly mind, until she can have the test and take

:03:40. > :03:41.that preventative surgery, hf she wants to.

:03:42. > :03:47.CROWD: Three...two...one... HORN BLASTS.

:03:48. > :03:51.Mandy and Kaicee had been chosen to start today's three kilometre race.

:03:52. > :03:55.There are more than 1700 wolen and girls taking part in this r`ce for

:03:56. > :03:58.life, virtually all of them affected by cancer in some way. Todax's event

:04:21. > :04:22.event featured three polo m`tches, with international stars johning

:04:23. > :04:25.teams to compete for the coveted Watergate Bay trophy. There were

:04:26. > :04:26.also a number of polo demonstrations and

:04:27. > :04:35.live music events to keep vhsitors entertained.

:04:36. > :04:38.Well, it's just as you can see, a stunning setting. And then xou've

:04:39. > :04:42.got the sea and the surf and all the Cornish people who have comd out in

:04:43. > :04:48.support. It's really relaxed and they love watching the polo.

:04:49. > :04:51.Horses are great, once they get used to the sand. They realise they can

:04:52. > :04:54.get a pretty good grip on the sand and they can turn well. Thex're

:04:55. > :04:59.amazing. You you can turn on a dime with them, they love it.

:05:00. > :05:13.Onto the weather now, and hdre?s Dan.

:05:14. > :05:29.In the next few days. More sunshine and showers. For any other, we start

:05:30. > :05:35.with showers but there will be bright spell in between. Showers are

:05:36. > :05:39.likely to become heavier through the afternoon, perhaps with somd

:05:40. > :05:46.thunder. Temperatures around 18 degrees. Maybe 19 degrees for the

:05:47. > :05:53.Channel Islands. More sunshhne and showers for Tuesday. Wednesday will

:05:54. > :05:56.be drier and brighter. That's it from us. The late news is that

:05:57. > :06:14.quarter to 11. Goodbye. Hello again. Today's big event was

:06:15. > :06:23.certainly blessed by fine weather, but there has been some rain around

:06:24. > :06:27.here and there. Those showers will continue to drift further east over

:06:28. > :06:36.the next few hours, but by and large, they should become more

:06:37. > :06:44.confined to western areas. These are the sorts of temperatures we will

:06:45. > :06:48.see in towns and cities. We have to talk about a mix of sunny spells and

:06:49. > :06:49.showers once again for much of the day
