:00:20. > :00:22.Tonight hundreds of people attended a meeting in North Devon

:00:23. > :00:26.to voice their fears over possible cuts to local health services,

:00:27. > :00:30.the Save Our Hospitals Services group.

:00:31. > :00:33.Meanwhile, the government insists the NHS is adequately funded.

:00:34. > :00:50.Alongside the enthusiasm, there are other emotions, too,

:00:51. > :00:53.including concern and fear about the potential changes

:00:54. > :00:55.to services at North Devon District Hospital.

:00:56. > :01:05.How dare they contemplate cutting services.

:01:06. > :01:07.The risk is that we'll lose consultant led maternity,

:01:08. > :01:13.paediatrics, neonatal, that they go not to Exeter but to Plymouth.

:01:14. > :01:20.I was born in 1944 and I felt safe, I've always felt safe,

:01:21. > :01:23.and I think from now on people are not going to feel safe.

:01:24. > :01:25.My children or grandchildren are not going to be safe.

:01:26. > :01:29.If we are ill, we are not sure we are going to be looked

:01:30. > :01:32.The financial pressures facing the NHS were highlighted

:01:33. > :01:37.at this latest meeting at the Save Our Hospital Services

:01:38. > :01:39.campaign, but the government insists the NHS is adequately funded.

:01:40. > :01:48.Our health and social care system is in meltdown and once again this

:01:49. > :01:51.week we had the spectacle of the Prime Minister

:01:52. > :01:54.and the government in total denial about the scale of the problem

:01:55. > :01:57.and in an open war with the head of the NHS, Simon Stephens,

:01:58. > :02:01.who challenged the government's claim to put more money in.

:02:02. > :02:03.NHS organisations in Devon say they are reviewing

:02:04. > :02:05.services to make them safe, sustainable and affordable,

:02:06. > :02:11.and insist no decisions have yet been made.

:02:12. > :02:13.More meetings are planned like this across North Devon

:02:14. > :02:22.A look now at some of the other stories in the South West tonight.

:02:57. > :02:59.The family of Josh Clayton are writing to the Chief Constable

:03:00. > :03:01.of Devon and Cornwall Police to request that another

:03:02. > :03:06.force carries out a fresh investigation into his death.

:03:07. > :03:10.The 23-year-old from Taunton was found dead on Tresco in 2015.

:03:11. > :03:18.The inquest into his death collapsed earlier this week.

:03:19. > :03:21.Two sisters have just watched a film of themselves for the first

:03:22. > :03:23.time more than 60 years after it was made.

:05:48. > :05:58.apart from the heat, he thinks it will be fine.

:06:13. > :06:14.The biggest problem will be low temperatures tonight and,

:06:15. > :06:17.certainly on untreated roads and pavements, the risk of ice,

:06:18. > :06:19.with temperatures down as low as -1 to -3.

:06:20. > :06:21.Overnight there is a chance of a shower.

:06:22. > :06:25.A few more to come, I think, later in the night,

:06:26. > :06:29.Lengthy clear skies in between these showers means a fairly low

:06:30. > :06:35.Brisk north-west winds so perhaps the coast not faring

:06:36. > :06:37.too badly but inland, particularly parts of

:06:38. > :06:39.Dorset and Somerset, here we are going to see

:06:40. > :06:43.temperatures at or a couple of degrees below freezing.

:06:44. > :06:45.So it is cold to start with tomorrow.

:06:46. > :06:47.Hopefully we'll get some sunshine and slightly higher temperatures

:06:48. > :06:51.Winds still from the north-west and still the risk of showers.

:06:52. > :06:54.Those showers perhaps more frequent through the afternoon.

:06:55. > :06:57.Temperatures getting up to about 9 degrees

:06:58. > :07:01.On Sunday, generally a lot of cloud around,

:07:02. > :07:05.and it's capable of producing a few spots of light rain or drizzle.

:07:06. > :07:07.But the big story on Sunday is temperatures are finally back

:07:08. > :07:10.into double figures, at 10-11 degrees.

:07:14. > :07:18.Tuesday, though, it starts to cool down again and Tuesday night
