:00:13. > :00:16.Protestors have been out in force tonight in Holsworthy after utter
:00:17. > :00:19.disbelief in the town that the community hospital has shut
:00:20. > :00:22.It's described as a temporary move, but campaigners don't
:00:23. > :00:24.believe Holsworthy Hospital will ever be re-opened.
:00:25. > :00:32.For Jenny and Andrew Smith, Holsworthy Hospital
:00:33. > :00:39.The news of the closure has come as another major
:00:40. > :00:45.I'm just devastated, not just for me personally
:00:46. > :00:48.but for all the patients in there now, but also the patients
:00:49. > :00:51.that could have been treated there and helped and given care
:00:52. > :01:00.The news that inpatient services at the hospital being temporarily
:01:01. > :01:03.closed has led to fears about the future of the hospital
:01:04. > :01:14.This is Holsworthy, the community beds in Biddesford have shut,
:01:15. > :01:16.Torrington's beds have shut, Okehampton's beds are shutting.
:01:17. > :01:21.The only remaining community beds in this area of Devon are Holsworthy's.
:01:22. > :01:23.Well, I think temporary closure will very quickly become a permanent
:01:24. > :01:26.closure and that will see the end of Holsworthy hospital
:01:27. > :01:32.Only built in the early 1990s, campaigners say that the hospital
:01:33. > :01:34.is being run down on purpose with shocking claims about equipment
:01:35. > :01:41.Staff have shown me where they have actually gone out and bought
:01:42. > :01:43.doorbells, domestic doorbells, and cellotaped them to the tables
:01:44. > :01:46.in front of beds because the proper help pushes have failed
:01:47. > :01:55.The trust managing the hospital says it is being maintained properly
:01:56. > :01:58.but that the temporary closure of beds is unavoidable due
:01:59. > :02:08.This protest has been organised with just a few hours notice.
:02:09. > :02:10.It shows how strongly people feel about their Community Hospital
:02:11. > :02:19.A Flybe plane had to land in Exeter this afternoon
:02:20. > :02:23.The flight from Cardiff to Jersey landed safely and none
:02:24. > :02:31.The completion of a ?13 million road project in Exeter which has
:02:32. > :02:34.been causing disruption for drivers for a year will be a delayed
:02:35. > :02:39.Bridge Road at Countess Wear carries 30 thousand vehicles a day
:02:40. > :02:42.and includes bridges that cross the Exeter Canal and the River Exe.
:02:43. > :02:59.The morning commute, queueing at roadworks on a busy route into
:03:00. > :03:06.Exeter. It is hoped the pain of the last year will be replaced by an
:03:07. > :03:10.easier commute in the years to come. There are two lanes inbound and one
:03:11. > :03:17.lane outbound. When it merges into one, you get queueing. The widening
:03:18. > :03:21.work will provide two continuous outbound lanes, a bridge for
:03:22. > :03:27.cyclists and pedestrians over the railway line is in place and another
:03:28. > :03:31.will be added to the bridge. It is complicated project, the bridge
:03:32. > :03:35.crossing the Exeter Canal has two open to allow vessels passage to and
:03:36. > :03:38.from the key. Delays caused by issues with the bridges flooding
:03:39. > :03:43.mean the scheme will not be completed until the end of June, a
:03:44. > :03:48.month late. For the public we want to thank them for their patients.
:03:49. > :03:52.And there was another closure this weekend to allow the roads to be
:03:53. > :03:54.resurfaced. The hope is anyone stuck in rush hour queues knows the end is
:03:55. > :03:56.in sight. A project in Devon could help lead
:03:57. > :03:59.to wolves being re-introduced Six European wolf cubs have come
:04:00. > :04:03.to Wildwood Escott near Honiton. Researchers from Sweden have reared
:04:04. > :04:06.them for the last ten months. These ten-month-old European wolf
:04:07. > :04:23.cubs will be monitored in their new surroundings
:04:24. > :04:28.by experts from Sweden. The wolf is a really under-studied
:04:29. > :04:31.species because it's a very elusive and very fearful species,
:04:32. > :04:33.so it's very hard to conduct So having them like this is a great
:04:34. > :04:39.opportunity to get to know Christine and her colleagues have
:04:40. > :04:44.helped the wolves settle in as they want to work out how
:04:45. > :04:49.they compare to domestic dogs. We are very interested how
:04:50. > :04:52.behaviour has changed from when we domesticated the dog
:04:53. > :04:59.from the grey wolf at least 15,000 This was the animals
:05:00. > :05:01.at seven weeks old. They had been reared alongside
:05:02. > :05:03.puppies and it's not hard They haven't been wild in Britain
:05:04. > :05:09.for hundreds of years. These wolves will remain
:05:10. > :05:14.in quarantine for four months then visitors will get a chance
:05:15. > :05:16.to see them. And as for getting them
:05:17. > :05:19.into the wild in time, northern Scotland is
:05:20. > :05:28.the most likely location. Exeter Chiefs tamed
:05:29. > :05:29.the Leicester Tigers winning 34-15 at Welford Road
:05:30. > :05:32.to strengthen their grip on second The Chiefs made the most
:05:33. > :05:36.of a Tom Youngs yellow card - scoring 14 points to go in 27-8 up
:05:37. > :05:38.at half time. Scrum Half Stu Townsend crossing
:05:39. > :05:41.in the corner for the third They weathered a second half storm
:05:42. > :05:45.after Jeff Parling was sin binned and managed to secure the bonus
:05:46. > :06:02.point try from Mitch Lees. Now, the weather. Good evening.
:06:03. > :06:06.There is no better way to describe this weather than unsettled but
:06:07. > :06:12.there is some bright weather in between the rain and showers,
:06:13. > :06:16.limited and it is quite windy. A brisk wind swirling around
:06:17. > :06:21.low-pressure and feeding in showers overnight. More persistent rain at
:06:22. > :06:29.times. This is Saturday, this weather front gives persistent rain
:06:30. > :06:36.early on Sunday and is replaced by showers and more low-pressure into
:06:37. > :06:41.Monday. Unsettled, quite windy, largely dry overnight tonight, a few
:06:42. > :06:49.showers but clear skies developing through the night. Temperature is
:06:50. > :06:51.not falling too low. A brisk breeze. Tomorrow morning, some sunshine,
:06:52. > :06:57.showers arrived, some are quite heavy moving through steadily but in
:06:58. > :07:01.between the showers a bit of sunshine and temperatures climbing
:07:02. > :07:09.up to eight and 10 degrees. A windy day. Gale force for a time. Some
:07:10. > :07:14.quite wet weather on Sunday morning, that will clear, bright and more
:07:15. > :07:22.showers and a blustery feeling day on Sunday. The rain continues into
:07:23. > :07:31.next week. I am back with a Saturday bulletin at 5:50pm. Bye-bye.
:07:32. > :07:45.Good evening, mixed fortunes this weekend. Today we saw a fair share
:07:46. > :07:49.of rain. This is the view one of our weather watchers in Doncaster. Not
:07:50. > :07:55.particularly inspiring. This weekend there will be some rain, but some of
:07:56. > :08:02.us will get away with a dry start. This is the satellite and a lovely
:08:03. > :08:12.day in northern Scotland. But cloud and rain and thunder and lightning
:08:13. > :08:20.in this area. Our main area of rain is stuck across Northern Ireland and
:08:21. > :08:22.Scotland. Some snow over higher ground. And windy. Four or
