:00:54. > :00:56.working with other young people to encourage them to stay safe

:00:57. > :00:59.on nights out at the coast. Louis Harris was 18 when he went

:01:00. > :01:02.missing in Weymouth in the early Here's our Dorset

:01:03. > :01:07.reporter Simon Clemison. Louis Harris was a teenager out

:01:08. > :01:10.for a night in a seaside resort. The search for him

:01:11. > :01:15.went on for weeks. He was last seen here

:01:16. > :01:19.in the early hours. He had been at university and had

:01:20. > :01:21.come back to celebrate Eventually, his body was pulled

:01:22. > :01:25.from the sea nearby. Events leading up to his death

:01:26. > :01:28.are still not clear. But his mother has started working

:01:29. > :01:33.with pupils at his old school, She is hoping to talk to many

:01:34. > :01:37.young people so that when they are old enough to go out

:01:38. > :01:40.drinking, or even before, they take steps to protect

:01:41. > :01:44.themselves by charging up their mobile phones and not

:01:45. > :01:47.getting separated from each other. We need to be realistic

:01:48. > :01:50.and practical and not tell people not to drink and accept

:01:51. > :01:56.that they will do, but given So that they can make choices

:01:57. > :02:03.and understand what the risks are. Do you think everyone

:02:04. > :02:05.leaves together? No.

:02:06. > :02:08.I very think it kind of get... Everybody gets dispersed and they go

:02:09. > :02:10.off doing their own thing and hanging out with different

:02:11. > :02:13.friends and then, you know, three hours into the party,

:02:14. > :02:16.people have left and you are like, Most drink things

:02:17. > :02:22.for teenagers it's... It seems quite patronising,

:02:23. > :02:24.it's like, don't drink, Where is this one treats you more

:02:25. > :02:30.like you're an adult, which I like. Who knows, this could have been

:02:31. > :02:32.the most important lesson The Bishop of Exeter has offered

:02:33. > :02:40.hope to rural churches Some have been forced to close,

:02:41. > :02:45.whilst others are looking to secure their futures

:02:46. > :02:48.as community assets. Janine Jansen has been looking

:02:49. > :02:51.at what the future holds for some St Pinnock's Church in Cornwall

:02:52. > :02:58.closed just last month. Local parishioners had fought for 25

:02:59. > :03:01.years to try to keep it open. Starting next year, we are launching

:03:02. > :03:06.a whole project called And we're putting money and people

:03:07. > :03:11.to actually help in some of our beleaguered

:03:12. > :03:14.rural communities. Some villages have seen

:03:15. > :03:18.their schools and pubs close. So, for many, the only community

:03:19. > :03:24.place left is the church. The Methodist Church

:03:25. > :03:28.here in Ashburton closed last year. But it has just been designated

:03:29. > :03:32.a community asset and this man wants People come into buildings

:03:33. > :03:38.and you get an instant feel for whether it's a friendly

:03:39. > :03:42.and pleasant place to be. It has obviously been loved

:03:43. > :03:48.for many, many decades and it In rugby, for the second successive

:03:49. > :04:00.week the Cornish Pirates have lost out to London Irish in the British

:04:01. > :04:02.and Irish Cup. They went down by just a single

:04:03. > :04:05.point at the Mennaye Field. There was quite a sight to be seen

:04:06. > :04:12.on Weymouth beach today as hundreds of runners donned Santa suits

:04:13. > :04:15.to chase a "Christmas pudding", an "elf" and a pantomime

:04:16. > :04:18.dame along the sands! The festive fundraiser -

:04:19. > :04:20.which is growing in popularity every year -

:04:21. > :04:23.was supporting a charity which helps local children take up

:04:24. > :04:26.swimming and watersports. The Santas ran three miles

:04:27. > :04:29.or so from the Weymouth Pavilion end of the beach to the groyne

:04:30. > :04:33.at Greenhill and back again. We didn't think there

:04:34. > :04:38.were going to be so many people because it's such dull weather

:04:39. > :04:50.but we must have in excess of 250 And then we got at least 20

:04:51. > :04:55.youngsters doing chase the elf, a new race and we have introduced this

:04:56. > :05:00.year. It is spectacular and look so spectacular against the backdrop --

:05:01. > :05:02.colourful against the backdrop of the grey skies.

:05:03. > :05:08.Some of us have had some sunshine today.

:05:09. > :05:10.We have also had stubborn mist and fog patches.

:05:11. > :05:12.They are thickening again this evening.

:05:13. > :05:15.We have a fog warning in force, for East Devon, Dorset and Somerset.

:05:16. > :05:17.And some of this fog could be quite thick at times.

:05:18. > :05:20.It is not just the warning area that is at risk.

:05:21. > :05:22.Elsewhere, we could see some fog forming.

:05:23. > :05:24.A couple of drizzly showers perhaps and maybe a patchy frost

:05:25. > :05:26.although temperatures typically staying above freezing.

:05:27. > :05:28.Some poor visibility tomorrow. That will tend to lift and break.

:05:29. > :05:31.A few showers for the South West and outbreaks of rain

:05:32. > :05:35.A few bright spells possible but generally fairly cloudy

:05:36. > :05:49.Patchy rain and drizzle and becoming more unsettled by midweek.

:05:50. > :05:54.That's all for now. Back with the late news at 11:20pm. Had a good

:05:55. > :06:14.evening. Hello. Exactly a week to Christmas

:06:15. > :06:18.but it did not feel that way in north-east Scotland today with

:06:19. > :06:24.temperatures as high as 13 Celsius in Aberdeenshire. This is one

:06:25. > :06:29.Weather Watcher's view. It is colder and Misty and murky in South Wales.

:06:30. > :06:36.You could see some dense fog patches developing tonight and into tomorrow

:06:37. > :06:41.morning. Southeast Wells, the Midlands and southern England are

:06:42. > :06:45.most at risk of that. They're out Brexit rain for Scotland later in

:06:46. > :06:56.the night. You could have a touch of frost in the morning -- outbreaks of

:06:57. > :07:04.rain for Scotland later. If you start frosty conditions will be

:07:05. > :07:06.improving. A weakening band of rain spreading Southeast through Scotland

:07:07. > :07:07.and Northern Ireland. Some
