0:00:02 > 0:00:03Hello there.

0:00:03 > 0:00:06We'll take a look at the potential weather trends into next week

0:00:06 > 0:00:08in just a moment but first of all,

0:00:08 > 0:00:12let's concentrate on the near future which could be fairly dramatic.

0:00:12 > 0:00:16The heat and humidity building over the next few days.

0:00:16 > 0:00:18Generally, Thursday is a fine summer's day.

0:00:18 > 0:00:21A bit more clout than Wednesday across parts of the south,

0:00:21 > 0:00:22certainly to start off with.

0:00:22 > 0:00:25One or two scattered showers in Western Scotland

0:00:25 > 0:00:27but for most places it is going to be a fine day.

0:00:27 > 0:00:30Certainly for the likes of central and southern Scotland, Northern

0:00:30 > 0:00:33Ireland, a bit warmer as well with temperatures back over 20 degrees.

0:00:33 > 0:00:36Parts of the east coast of Scotland may well stay in cool.

0:00:36 > 0:00:39That could be a feature of the weather for the next few days.

0:00:39 > 0:00:41Inland, across northern England, the mid 20s likely.

0:00:41 > 0:00:44A warmer feel across Wales with sunny spells

0:00:44 > 0:00:47developing for most places here. A sunny day or two in the south.

0:00:47 > 0:00:51A risk of a little bit of low cloud and mist at times on the south coast

0:00:51 > 0:00:53and close by to London, 27, 28,

0:00:53 > 0:00:55possibly as high as 29 degrees Celsius.

0:00:55 > 0:00:59It will be another warm and humid night Thursday night into Friday.

0:00:59 > 0:01:02Increasing risk of seeing a few lightning bolts across parts

0:01:02 > 0:01:06of south-west England and Wales, as we go through the night.

0:01:06 > 0:01:08Really quite sultry here as well through the night.

0:01:08 > 0:01:11Temperatures staying in the high teens in most places.

0:01:11 > 0:01:13A little cooler further north

0:01:13 > 0:01:16but generally it's going to be quite a humid start to Friday.

0:01:16 > 0:01:19Friday will see the peak in the temperatures.

0:01:19 > 0:01:22We do have this little weather feature bringing those thundery

0:01:22 > 0:01:25showers, certainly across Northern Ireland and south-west Scotland.

0:01:25 > 0:01:28But follow the isobars. They head all the way down across France

0:01:28 > 0:01:30and that's where we're importing our air from.

0:01:30 > 0:01:33So, in the sunshine, temperatures set to soar on Friday.

0:01:33 > 0:01:35There will be a sprinkling of potentially quite heavy

0:01:35 > 0:01:38showers across Northern Ireland and western Scotland.

0:01:38 > 0:01:40Late in the day, across the east, there could be some

0:01:40 > 0:01:43thunderstorms too but for most, it's all about the heat.

0:01:43 > 0:01:4430 degrees, 31 or 32 is possible.

0:01:44 > 0:01:46Cooler again on some of those North Sea coasts.

0:01:46 > 0:01:51Then for the weekend, particularly Friday night and into Saturday

0:01:51 > 0:01:54morning, we are looking at more thunderstorms developing.

0:01:54 > 0:01:57This weather front will eventually bring a fresher feel for the weekend

0:01:57 > 0:02:00but ahead of it, the heat and humidity are likely to trigger

0:02:00 > 0:02:04potentially violent storms on Friday night and through Saturday.

0:02:04 > 0:02:08A lot of uncertainty about the exact position of those downpours.

0:02:08 > 0:02:12But they have the potential to cause some fairly serious issues,

0:02:12 > 0:02:15large hailstones, strong and gusty winds, along with a lot of rain

0:02:15 > 0:02:17falling in a short space of time.

0:02:17 > 0:02:20That front clears through on Sunday, introducing fresher conditions

0:02:20 > 0:02:24so it won't be as humid. It's far from dry and fine everywhere though.

0:02:24 > 0:02:27There will still be a sprinkling of showers and certainly at first,

0:02:27 > 0:02:30quite a lot of low cloud. A bit of sunshine on Sunday.

0:02:30 > 0:02:31It shouldn't feel too unpleasant.

0:02:31 > 0:02:34A little bump in the isobars for Sunday and into Monday,

0:02:34 > 0:02:37promising a brief ridge of high pressure.

0:02:37 > 0:02:39These weather fronts are trying to push in but as they bump up

0:02:39 > 0:02:43against that ridge of high pressure, well, they will start to weaken.

0:02:43 > 0:02:46A little bit of cloud and patchy rain trying to push in from the west.

0:02:46 > 0:02:49But most places looking dry and bright again on Monday,

0:02:49 > 0:02:52with temperature back into the low to mid 20s.

0:02:52 > 0:02:56And so beyond Monday, into the middle and latter part of the week

0:02:56 > 0:02:59ahead, it looks as if high pressure will be nearby.

0:02:59 > 0:03:03But the exact position of that high could mix things up a little bit.

0:03:03 > 0:03:04If it's down to the south west,

0:03:04 > 0:03:07it may well introduce some cooler conditions across parts

0:03:07 > 0:03:10of the east and low pressure is never far away from the far north west

0:03:10 > 0:03:12so there will be outbreaks of rain here.

0:03:12 > 0:03:15If the high is a little bit further east,

0:03:15 > 0:03:18it may well draw up some warm air again from the near continent.

0:03:18 > 0:03:19With high-pressure nearby, well,

0:03:19 > 0:03:22the trend is that much of next week will be dry.

0:03:22 > 0:03:25The potential for things to get warm again and for large parts

0:03:25 > 0:03:28of the UK, expected to be set fair with some sunshine.
