0:00:01 > 0:00:03Hello there. The flow of air from Iberia,

0:00:03 > 0:00:06parts of France which has brought the very hot, very humid weather,

0:00:06 > 0:00:09but also the very stormy weather, is about to be cut off,

0:00:09 > 0:00:12as high pressure builds over the next 24 hours.

0:00:12 > 0:00:14So, a drier scene for most of you on Monday.

0:00:14 > 0:00:15One or two showers here and there.

0:00:15 > 0:00:18Outbreaks of rain throughout the day across Shetland.

0:00:18 > 0:00:19Quite misty and grey here.

0:00:19 > 0:00:21A few showers into the west

0:00:21 > 0:00:23of Northern Ireland later too, but in between,

0:00:23 > 0:00:24after some misty, grey low cloud

0:00:24 > 0:00:26to start your Monday morning,

0:00:26 > 0:00:28that should break up. Some good sunny spells.

0:00:28 > 0:00:29A little bit of a northwest breeze,

0:00:29 > 0:00:30not desperately strong,

0:00:30 > 0:00:32but around the north coasts of Devon,

0:00:32 > 0:00:34Cornwall, West Wales, north-west England,

0:00:34 > 0:00:35it may limit temperatures

0:00:35 > 0:00:37to between 18 and 20 degrees.

0:00:37 > 0:00:38The sun will be every bit as strong

0:00:38 > 0:00:39as it will be inland,

0:00:39 > 0:00:42where we could hit the low to mid 20s.

0:00:42 > 0:00:44A few isolated showers across England and Wales.

0:00:44 > 0:00:46Greater chance in south and west Northern Ireland

0:00:46 > 0:00:47as cloud thickens up later.

0:00:47 > 0:00:50Bright weather to the east of Northern Ireland continues,

0:00:50 > 0:00:52and many will stay dry, as will much of Scotland,

0:00:52 > 0:00:54the exception being some mist and low cloud

0:00:54 > 0:00:55bringing rain to the north-east,

0:00:55 > 0:00:56particularly Shetland.

0:00:56 > 0:00:58Isolated showers here and there

0:00:58 > 0:00:59across eastern Scotland,

0:00:59 > 0:01:01and where we saw the storms today,

0:01:01 > 0:01:02we could be prone to seeing

0:01:02 > 0:01:03one or two showers pop up

0:01:03 > 0:01:06through the afternoon, but not the intensity,

0:01:06 > 0:01:07not the severity of the storms

0:01:07 > 0:01:09we saw through Sunday.

0:01:09 > 0:01:10And I think many will stay dry.

0:01:10 > 0:01:12Temperatures still a bit on the sticky side

0:01:12 > 0:01:15across the south-east corner. 26 Celsius possible.

0:01:15 > 0:01:17Temperatures will notch down a bit

0:01:17 > 0:01:18as we go through the night

0:01:18 > 0:01:19and into Tuesday morning,

0:01:19 > 0:01:21so not quite as warm overnight

0:01:21 > 0:01:23as through the weekend, but 14 to 16 degrees

0:01:23 > 0:01:25is still warm enough for many of us.

0:01:25 > 0:01:27Some mist and fog patches around to begin the day.

0:01:27 > 0:01:30By this stage, high pressure firmly in charge,

0:01:30 > 0:01:32low pressure either side of it,

0:01:32 > 0:01:34so we'll still see a little bit of cloud

0:01:34 > 0:01:36and low cloud pushing in towards East Anglia

0:01:36 > 0:01:38and the south-east to begin with.

0:01:38 > 0:01:39An onshore breeze could bring

0:01:39 > 0:01:41mist and low cloud to north-east Scotland

0:01:41 > 0:01:42through the day, but away from that,

0:01:42 > 0:01:44a lot of dry and bright weather.

0:01:44 > 0:01:46Sunshine breaks through any morning cloud.

0:01:46 > 0:01:48An isolated shower possible over the hills,

0:01:48 > 0:01:50and to the west of Northern Ireland again,

0:01:50 > 0:01:53but temperatures creeping up under light winds

0:01:53 > 0:01:55could get quite widely in the mid to high 20s

0:01:55 > 0:01:57across many parts of the country.

0:01:57 > 0:01:59The high pressure almost slips away

0:01:59 > 0:02:01a little bit into Scandinavia

0:02:01 > 0:02:02as we go into Wednesday.

0:02:02 > 0:02:04That allows this front over the Atlantic

0:02:04 > 0:02:05to push a bit closer.

0:02:05 > 0:02:07It also allows an easterly wind to develop a bit more,

0:02:07 > 0:02:09and that is what will dominate,

0:02:09 > 0:02:10bringing slightly more humid air

0:02:10 > 0:02:12for most of us by Wednesday.

0:02:12 > 0:02:13More mist and low cloud

0:02:13 > 0:02:15in eastern Scotland and north-east England,

0:02:15 > 0:02:17limiting temperatures, but elsewhere,

0:02:17 > 0:02:18turning increasingly warm.

0:02:18 > 0:02:20The warmth continues to build into Thursday.

0:02:20 > 0:02:22still the chance of a few showers around

0:02:22 > 0:02:24across parts of Northern Ireland.

0:02:24 > 0:02:26This front is perilously close throughout,

0:02:26 > 0:02:28so I can't promise a completely dry picture.

0:02:28 > 0:02:30A few showers will crop up here and there

0:02:30 > 0:02:32as temperatures continue to rise on Thursday,

0:02:32 > 0:02:35getting into the mid if not high 20s

0:02:35 > 0:02:37across some western coasts of England,

0:02:37 > 0:02:38Wales and Scotland.

0:02:38 > 0:02:40The problem comes a bit on Friday,

0:02:40 > 0:02:41This weather front is still with us,

0:02:41 > 0:02:43lingering around. The pressure pattern

0:02:43 > 0:02:45becomes a bit slack, and there's not

0:02:45 > 0:02:47a huge amount of wind to push things through,

0:02:47 > 0:02:48and because that front is there,

0:02:48 > 0:02:50it helps to destabilise the atmosphere a touch,

0:02:50 > 0:02:52so a greater chance of a few showers,

0:02:52 > 0:02:54maybe the odd isolated thunderstorm

0:02:54 > 0:02:55developing across southern

0:02:55 > 0:02:56and western areas on Friday.

0:02:56 > 0:02:59Away from that, some hot and humid weather about.

0:02:59 > 0:03:01But high pressure really firmly sets itself up

0:03:01 > 0:03:03as we go into the following weekend, and of course,

0:03:03 > 0:03:05into the start of the week that follows.

0:03:05 > 0:03:06Low pressure either side of it.

0:03:06 > 0:03:09Some models are trying to push this low pressure into the Northwest,

0:03:09 > 0:03:12so a chance of some rain here. Some models trying to push

0:03:12 > 0:03:14the low pressure from Central Europe towards us.

0:03:14 > 0:03:17That could bring a risk of some thunderstorms to the south-east,

0:03:17 > 0:03:20but the general picture is, as we go beyond in days 6-10,

0:03:20 > 0:03:22that it should actually stay pretty warm.

0:03:22 > 0:03:25Most places will be dry, and showers, few and far between.

0:03:25 > 0:03:27All in all, good news for those of you on holiday at the moment,

0:03:27 > 0:03:29and of course, for the start

0:03:29 > 0:03:30of the Commonwealth Games.

0:03:31 > 0:03:33Imagine the number of women this industry supports.

0:03:33 > 0:03:36This World investigates the true cost of fashion.

0:03:36 > 0:03:41It took less than 90 seconds for the eight-storey building to collapse.
