0:00:02 > 0:00:05Hello. It's time for our daily look at what lies, weather-wise,
0:00:05 > 0:00:08for the week ahead, and indeed a hint towards the end of the month.
0:00:08 > 0:00:11We had some violent storms through the weekend,
0:00:11 > 0:00:14but those have now eased away, the weather settling down again,
0:00:14 > 0:00:17with plenty of dry weather to look forward to through Tuesday.
0:00:17 > 0:00:19After a rather grey start for most of us, things will perk up,
0:00:19 > 0:00:21with some very warm sunshine once more.
0:00:21 > 0:00:24Some rain knocking on the door of Northern Ireland,
0:00:24 > 0:00:26but for the rest of us broken cloud and sunshine
0:00:26 > 0:00:30should be a typical scenario. This is four o'clock,
0:00:30 > 0:00:32and temperatures up into the 20s quite nicely -
0:00:32 > 0:00:34mid to high 20s in the sunnier parts of the South.
0:00:34 > 0:00:36Across the Irish Sea, a different story.
0:00:36 > 0:00:39More cloud, with some outbreaks of rain in Western areas.
0:00:39 > 0:00:42Some could be quite heavy, although it won't rain all day long.
0:00:42 > 0:00:45Fringing into the Outer Hebrides, but most of Scotland will be dry,
0:00:45 > 0:00:48with some sunshine. Notably cooler, though,
0:00:48 > 0:00:50along the Eastern coastal fringe,
0:00:50 > 0:00:52and some coastal counties of Northeast England.
0:00:52 > 0:00:54That'll knock the temperatures on the head,
0:00:54 > 0:00:57but head any distance inland, with some sunshine,
0:00:57 > 0:01:00temperatures will respond, up into the mid, possibly high 20s
0:01:00 > 0:01:03across some Southern counties, not far off 30 degrees in some places.
0:01:03 > 0:01:05So another hot one to come.
0:01:05 > 0:01:07We end the day on a fine note, and hopefully
0:01:07 > 0:01:10the rain across Northern Ireland will tend to ease away.
0:01:10 > 0:01:13It will turn very murky again - high humidity out there,
0:01:13 > 0:01:17so some mist and some low cloud, particularly close to coastal areas.
0:01:17 > 0:01:20Temperatures in some spots not getting below 16 or 17 degrees.
0:01:20 > 0:01:24We keep that muggy theme going through the middle of the week.
0:01:24 > 0:01:26High pressure to the North`East, a gentle Easterly wind,
0:01:26 > 0:01:30and that's going to push these weather fronts back out Westwards
0:01:30 > 0:01:32at least for a time. So again, a lot of dry weather.
0:01:32 > 0:01:35It might once more be a rather cloudy, misty start,
0:01:35 > 0:01:38and inevitably towards some Eastern coastal counties
0:01:38 > 0:01:41it might stay that way, keeping it somewhat cooler.
0:01:41 > 0:01:42But for the vast majority
0:01:42 > 0:01:45it will be another pleasantly warm, if not hot, day,
0:01:45 > 0:01:47and any showers will be very isolated.
0:01:47 > 0:01:50So mid to high 20s, much cooler, though, where it does stay misty,
0:01:50 > 0:01:52along those North`Eastern coasts.
0:01:52 > 0:01:55Now as we head towards Thursday,
0:01:55 > 0:01:57we've got to keep our eye on this front
0:01:57 > 0:01:59which might start to head back in again from the West.
0:01:59 > 0:02:02At this stage, I think most places will stay dry,
0:02:02 > 0:02:04or at least start off dry.
0:02:04 > 0:02:07But there's an increasing chance of showers breaking out
0:02:07 > 0:02:10across Northern Ireland and some Southwestern parts of the UK.
0:02:10 > 0:02:12Hopefully not the intense storms we had at the weekend,
0:02:12 > 0:02:16but one to keep an eye on, because they will be quite slow-moving.
0:02:16 > 0:02:19And a trend through Friday will be for the pressure to continue to
0:02:19 > 0:02:23fall away, which does mean there will be scattered showers around.
0:02:23 > 0:02:25Slow-moving affairs, very difficult to get the detail right,
0:02:25 > 0:02:28but it does look as though the more Southern parts of the UK
0:02:28 > 0:02:31and some Western fringes are most prone to some downpours.
0:02:31 > 0:02:34But in any sunshine, again, it will feel warm.
0:02:34 > 0:02:37By the weekend, certainly some more prolonged outbreaks of rain
0:02:37 > 0:02:40look likely, most likely across the more Western areas,
0:02:40 > 0:02:44but once more, in any sunshine, we keep some pretty high temperatures.
0:02:44 > 0:02:47Now, beyond that, well, we've got a split decision, really.
0:02:47 > 0:02:50There's a low chance the high pressure will start to build in again
0:02:50 > 0:02:52through the early part of next week,
0:02:52 > 0:02:53settling the weather down once more
0:02:53 > 0:02:56with plenty more dry, warm, sunny weather.
0:02:56 > 0:02:59However I think what is more likely is that the high
0:02:59 > 0:03:01will retreat back Southwestwards, and that will allow
0:03:01 > 0:03:04something of a westerly flow to come in off the Atlantic.
0:03:04 > 0:03:07Closest to the high in the South, it stays mostly dry.
0:03:07 > 0:03:10Further North, cooler, more unsettled,
0:03:10 > 0:03:11with perhaps some outbreaks of rain.
0:03:11 > 0:03:14So on balance, I think that's the most likely indication
0:03:14 > 0:03:16through the early part of next week.
0:03:16 > 0:03:19It's a split decision - mixed signals in the computer models -
0:03:19 > 0:03:22but Southern areas probably driest and warmest and sunniest,
0:03:22 > 0:03:25further North rather more unsettled, with a breeze
0:03:25 > 0:03:27and some outbreaks of rain at times.
0:03:27 > 0:03:29We'll keep an eye on it here at the Weather Centre.
