0:00:02 > 0:00:05Hello, it looks like our weather will be settling down next week

0:00:05 > 0:00:08and warming up a bit too. The reasons for that coming up in a few minutes.

0:00:08 > 0:00:10Between now and then more rain on the way

0:00:10 > 0:00:12courtesy of another area of low pressure

0:00:12 > 0:00:14which is heading towards the UK,

0:00:14 > 0:00:15and this will dominate our weather

0:00:15 > 0:00:17for the rest of the week,

0:00:17 > 0:00:18although not coming in until

0:00:18 > 0:00:20late Wednesday, Wednesday night.

0:00:20 > 0:00:22So, for most of us on Wednesday,

0:00:22 > 0:00:23it will turn out to be a dry day

0:00:23 > 0:00:25with broken cloud and sunny spells.

0:00:25 > 0:00:28Wherever you are, you'll notice the breeze freshening

0:00:28 > 0:00:31ahead of the front coming in from that low pressure,

0:00:31 > 0:00:33bringing outbreaks of rain to

0:00:33 > 0:00:34southwest England, south Wales,

0:00:34 > 0:00:36but not until late in the day

0:00:36 > 0:00:38does that get going.

0:00:38 > 0:00:40Temperatures, given a bit of sunshine,

0:00:40 > 0:00:41and, as you can see,

0:00:41 > 0:00:44most are still dry well into the afternoon,

0:00:44 > 0:00:46it will feel pleasant, high teens, low 20s,

0:00:46 > 0:00:49warmer in southeast England than it has been recently.

0:00:49 > 0:00:52Overnight, Wednesday into Thursday morning,

0:00:52 > 0:00:54we get the rain from this weather system.

0:00:54 > 0:00:57Not a huge amount, 5-10 millimetres,

0:00:57 > 0:00:59and by Thursday morning

0:00:59 > 0:01:00it's sitting across Scotland

0:01:00 > 0:01:02and down the eastern side of England.

0:01:02 > 0:01:05We'll take a look at the big picture for Thursday.

0:01:05 > 0:01:07Here's the area of low pressure

0:01:07 > 0:01:09with the weather front straddled from Scotland

0:01:09 > 0:01:10and down the eastern side of England.

0:01:10 > 0:01:13They'll take time to move north across Scotland

0:01:13 > 0:01:16with the rain on Thursday. They'll clear more readily

0:01:16 > 0:01:17from the eastern side of England.

0:01:17 > 0:01:19Once that rain has gone

0:01:19 > 0:01:21we are left in bright, breezy weather,

0:01:21 > 0:01:22a few more showers behind,

0:01:22 > 0:01:24but a lot of dry weather

0:01:24 > 0:01:27with some sunny spells during Thursday.

0:01:27 > 0:01:30Temperatures high teens, low 20s,

0:01:30 > 0:01:33even a bit warmer in southeast England.

0:01:33 > 0:01:35From Thursday into Friday,

0:01:35 > 0:01:37the low pressure gets closer

0:01:37 > 0:01:39and begins its journey across

0:01:39 > 0:01:41the northern half of the UK,

0:01:41 > 0:01:43the isobars wrapped around the low pressure,

0:01:43 > 0:01:45indicating the strength of the wind.

0:01:45 > 0:01:47The showers more widespread on Friday,

0:01:47 > 0:01:50particularly across the northwest of the UK

0:01:50 > 0:01:51where they may merge

0:01:51 > 0:01:53to give longer spells of rain.

0:01:53 > 0:01:55Quite strong winds, gales possible through the Irish Sea.

0:01:55 > 0:01:57Might not see too many showers across

0:01:57 > 0:01:59the east and southeast of England,

0:01:59 > 0:02:01got to cater for some heading through,

0:02:01 > 0:02:03especially later in the day.

0:02:03 > 0:02:05That low pressure begins to get the message

0:02:05 > 0:02:07and head away through the weekend.

0:02:07 > 0:02:08On Saturday, though,

0:02:08 > 0:02:11it's close enough to deliver some showers,

0:02:11 > 0:02:13gradually easing, the wind easing too.

0:02:13 > 0:02:15We may see those showers popping up on Saturday

0:02:15 > 0:02:18in areas that don't see too many on Friday,

0:02:18 > 0:02:21central and eastern parts of England for example.

0:02:21 > 0:02:23High teens, low 20s for the temperature.

0:02:23 > 0:02:26Once that low pressure has gone going into Sunday,

0:02:26 > 0:02:28a ridge of high pressure begins to build in,

0:02:28 > 0:02:31but no doubt your eyes are drawn to this,

0:02:31 > 0:02:33the remnants of Hurricane Cristobal

0:02:33 > 0:02:35coming in across the Atlantic.

0:02:35 > 0:02:36This is not a Bertha that

0:02:36 > 0:02:38stormed into the UK a few weeks ago.

0:02:38 > 0:02:39Looks like this will track

0:02:39 > 0:02:40between Iceland and Scotland,

0:02:40 > 0:02:42something we need to follow,

0:02:42 > 0:02:44and it may throw out a weather front ahead of it

0:02:44 > 0:02:47that brings some cloud, rain and strengthening winds

0:02:47 > 0:02:50into the western UK later on Sunday.

0:02:50 > 0:02:52Perhaps pretty windy conditions to the

0:02:52 > 0:02:55north of Scotland from Sunday into Monday.

0:02:55 > 0:02:57We need to follow that part of the forecast

0:02:57 > 0:03:01but once that's gone through, for the first days of September,

0:03:01 > 0:03:04next week it looks like pressure will build across the UK

0:03:04 > 0:03:07and the effect of that will be to settle the weather down

0:03:07 > 0:03:08and make things warmer as well

0:03:08 > 0:03:12due to the position of the weather systems, the flow of air around them.

0:03:12 > 0:03:15Low pressure to the northwest, high somewhere to the south of us,

0:03:15 > 0:03:19edging into the UK, and that's why the weather will be settling down,

0:03:19 > 0:03:21a warmer flow of air, particularly across southern areas,

0:03:21 > 0:03:24temperatures quite widely getting back into the 20s.

0:03:24 > 0:03:26That's ten days of weather for you,

0:03:26 > 0:03:28something to look forward to next week.

0:03:28 > 0:03:30Find your forecast online, bye-bye.
