0:00:01 > 0:00:05Hello, the weather for this week has high pressure keeping things
0:00:05 > 0:00:07relatively settled and dry.
0:00:07 > 0:00:10A bit of a change potentially as we go into next week
0:00:10 > 0:00:12but more details in just a moment.
0:00:12 > 0:00:17Starting off with Monday morning which for England and Wales
0:00:17 > 0:00:20has a lot of cloud around, mist and fog, patchy light rain
0:00:20 > 0:00:25and drizzle but behind that system, which is moving south,
0:00:25 > 0:00:28skies will brighten so brighter sunny spells for parts of Scotland.
0:00:28 > 0:00:31The risk of a few light showers to the north-west later on in the day.
0:00:31 > 0:00:33Temperatures 17 to 18 degrees.
0:00:33 > 0:00:36A lot more cloud as we move through East Anglia
0:00:36 > 0:00:39and for south-east England with patchy light rain and drizzle
0:00:39 > 0:00:41so a grey afternoon to come here with temperatures
0:00:41 > 0:00:44expected in London at 18.
0:00:44 > 0:00:48Along the south coast we're sticking with this rather dull afternoon
0:00:48 > 0:00:52potentially hints of brightness - we might lift temperatures to 20
0:00:52 > 0:00:54and the best chance of seeing some
0:00:54 > 0:00:57dry weather through the second half of the day across Wales
0:00:57 > 0:00:59is further north into Anglesey.
0:00:59 > 0:01:03Northern Ireland stays dry and bright throughout much of the day.
0:01:03 > 0:01:06We're picking up a risk of a light shower to finish off with
0:01:06 > 0:01:08out to the north-west.
0:01:08 > 0:01:11But through the night there will be patchy rain to the south
0:01:11 > 0:01:15and clearer spells further north that could allow mist and fog to form.
0:01:15 > 0:01:18Temperatures staying by dawn at around 10 to 13 degrees.
0:01:18 > 0:01:21Not a particularly cold start to Tuesday morning but again
0:01:21 > 0:01:26it could be quite cloudy with some of that mist and fog to clear away.
0:01:26 > 0:01:29Although pressure remains relatively high on Tuesday,
0:01:29 > 0:01:32things will be complicated by the remains of this weather front
0:01:32 > 0:01:34in the South which keeps that
0:01:34 > 0:01:37feed of cloud going for southern counties with spots of rain
0:01:37 > 0:01:41but we think it will eventually clear away.
0:01:41 > 0:01:45The mist and fog gives way to some bright and sunny spells.
0:01:45 > 0:01:47A bit more cloud in the north-west
0:01:47 > 0:01:50with one or two showers across the Western Isles.
0:01:50 > 0:01:52Temperatures throughout Tuesday afternoon
0:01:52 > 0:01:55still 17 to 18 for Scotland and Northern Ireland but with
0:01:55 > 0:01:59a bit more sunshine to the south-east we might get up to 22 in London.
0:01:59 > 0:02:02By the time we reach the middle part of the week,
0:02:02 > 0:02:06the high is extending down from Scandinavia but starting to
0:02:06 > 0:02:10allow these weather fronts to approach the north-west of the UK.
0:02:10 > 0:02:13For parts of north-west Scotland potentially the middle
0:02:13 > 0:02:18part of the week could be breezy with outbreaks of cloud and rain.
0:02:18 > 0:02:21Further south, any mist and fog should clear to give a dry day
0:02:21 > 0:02:24with bright or sunny spells but always the risk of these zones
0:02:24 > 0:02:26of cloud floating around.
0:02:26 > 0:02:28It's going to be a week where forecasting
0:02:28 > 0:02:32the detail of that cloud will remain very tricky indeed.
0:02:32 > 0:02:34Thursday keeps the fronts in the north-west
0:02:34 > 0:02:37so a greater chance of cloud and rain.
0:02:37 > 0:02:41The rest of the UK dry with sunny spells
0:02:41 > 0:02:44and temperatures by then into the mid-20s for south-east England.
0:02:44 > 0:02:49Perhaps by the end of the week our high will start to slide eastwards
0:02:49 > 0:02:53and allow these low-pressure systems to the south to bring a greater
0:02:53 > 0:02:57risk of some rain around, especially to southwestern areas through
0:02:57 > 0:03:00the day on Friday with further north staying dry with bright spells.
0:03:00 > 0:03:04Currently a fairly high level of uncertainty in the detail
0:03:04 > 0:03:06of Friday's forecast.
0:03:06 > 0:03:10As far as the weekend is concerned, again, we will watch out to
0:03:10 > 0:03:14how these low-pressure systems to the south are likely to behave.
0:03:14 > 0:03:18It looks like southern, central and eastern areas are more likely to see things turning
0:03:18 > 0:03:22more unsettled with outbreaks of rain but with the high just
0:03:22 > 0:03:25about holding on from Scandinavia, there will be some easterly winds.
0:03:25 > 0:03:28But we will keep you up to date as to how the forecast develops over
0:03:28 > 0:03:30the next couple of days.
0:03:31 > 0:03:33In 7 Up, we watched their characters emerge.
0:03:33 > 0:03:35Boys think they're better than girls, and they're not.
0:03:35 > 0:03:37In 14 Up, they shared their dreams.
0:03:37 > 0:03:40I love the idea of being married. It'd be well good.
0:03:40 > 0:03:43How have those dreams changed now they're 21?
0:03:43 > 0:03:46Go to the Paralympics. I'd love that.
0:03:51 > 0:03:53Go away if you don't me to speak to you like that!
0:03:53 > 0:03:54Who do you think you are?!
