0:00:02 > 0:00:04Our weather may have entered a quiet spell

0:00:04 > 0:00:06this month but it's not going to be without challenges over

0:00:06 > 0:00:07coming days.

0:00:07 > 0:00:10To begin with it's all down to who gets the cloud and who gets

0:00:10 > 0:00:13the sunshine because that will have a big impact on the temperatures.

0:00:13 > 0:00:15To begin Tuesday Central and Eastern parts of England,

0:00:15 > 0:00:17certainly cloudy, misty, foggy in one

0:00:17 > 0:00:19or two spots for the early commuters.

0:00:19 > 0:00:21That should gradually shift and break.

0:00:21 > 0:00:23Best of the brightness out to the West and North.

0:00:23 > 0:00:25But even where you start with the cloud

0:00:25 > 0:00:28we should see a little bit of sun come through now and again.

0:00:28 > 0:00:30Parts of East Yorkshire, Lincolnshire, East Anglia, Northeast

0:00:30 > 0:00:32Midlands could be favoured with cloud

0:00:32 > 0:00:34thick enough to produce light rain or drizzle.

0:00:34 > 0:00:37A drier, brighter day compared with Monday across Southern

0:00:37 > 0:00:39parts of England into South Wales.

0:00:39 > 0:00:42Temperatures into low 20s for many.

0:00:42 > 0:00:45Could get to 23 in parts of Wales.

0:00:45 > 0:00:46And a fine day to the Northwest of England

0:00:46 > 0:00:50though Eastern parts of the Pennines could see lingering low cloud.

0:00:50 > 0:00:52For Scotland and Northern Ireland well broken clouds.

0:00:52 > 0:00:56Some sunny breaks throughout the day particularly around the Aviemore

0:00:56 > 0:00:59area, another favoured spot for hitting 22 or 23.

0:00:59 > 0:01:03Tuesday night into Wednesday we see the low cloud become dominant again.

0:01:03 > 0:01:05And across parts of Northeast England,

0:01:05 > 0:01:09Southeast Scotland is where it could be thick enough for rain or drizzle.

0:01:09 > 0:01:11A few passing showers to the Western Isles

0:01:11 > 0:01:14and probably a milder night than what takes us into Tuesday.

0:01:14 > 0:01:17Given the fact we have that mist and low cloud.

0:01:17 > 0:01:18Could be a grey start to Wednesday.

0:01:18 > 0:01:20Best favoured for the sunnier breaks

0:01:20 > 0:01:23though is all down to the position of our high pressure.

0:01:23 > 0:01:24It's out across Scandinavia.

0:01:24 > 0:01:26We've got a clockwise wind flow

0:01:26 > 0:01:30and that's blowing from the Southeast across England and Wales.

0:01:30 > 0:01:31Shelter to the west of the hills

0:01:31 > 0:01:33where we see the best of sunny breaks here.

0:01:33 > 0:01:36With a generally Southerly flow across Scotland it's

0:01:36 > 0:01:38the north of the Grampians where we'll see

0:01:38 > 0:01:40the best of the sunshine, hence the best of the temperatures.

0:01:40 > 0:01:42Could get close to the mid-20s in many spots.

0:01:42 > 0:01:45But widely temperatures lifting by a degree or so day on day.

0:01:45 > 0:01:47We start with mist, low cloud, one or two showers possible.

0:01:47 > 0:01:49Southeast Scotland,

0:01:49 > 0:01:51Northeast England probably best favoured for this stage.

0:01:51 > 0:01:53Temperatures in the mid to high teens

0:01:53 > 0:01:57so even with the cloud it should feel reasonably warm.

0:01:57 > 0:01:59Not a lot changes Wednesday into Thursday.

0:01:59 > 0:02:03The high pressure's still there but we start to see a few weather

0:02:03 > 0:02:05fronts push close to the Northwest of Scotland.

0:02:05 > 0:02:07So potential across the Hebrides.

0:02:07 > 0:02:09Maybe towards Shetland of some more persistent rain

0:02:09 > 0:02:11sliding in later in the day.

0:02:11 > 0:02:14But away from that it's a similar story of some sunny

0:02:14 > 0:02:18breaks in many parts of the country after a misty, grey start.

0:02:18 > 0:02:21Best across the West in England and Wales and the North in Scotland.

0:02:22 > 0:02:25Enter Friday and we see areas of low pressure try to

0:02:25 > 0:02:27brew across to the West of us.

0:02:27 > 0:02:29The high pressure remains in charge.

0:02:29 > 0:02:32THe core of the high pressure shifts to the North of us by this stage.

0:02:32 > 0:02:34So it's a general Easterly flow.

0:02:34 > 0:02:37So those in the West again sheltered from those Easterly winds will

0:02:37 > 0:02:38probably see the best of the sunshine.

0:02:38 > 0:02:42A lot of low cloud to begin the morning across Eastern parts.

0:02:42 > 0:02:44Saturday gets more complicated.

0:02:44 > 0:02:46We have an area of low pressure trying to push its way in.

0:02:46 > 0:02:48Small chance we could see low pressure

0:02:48 > 0:02:50develop against Central parts of Europe.

0:02:50 > 0:02:53There is a small chance of showers in the Southeast.

0:02:53 > 0:02:56But generally at this stage we're talking about a predominantly

0:02:56 > 0:02:59dry picture for much of the UK with temperatures at

0:02:59 > 0:03:01if not a little bit above average.

0:03:01 > 0:03:04Through Sunday into Wednesday of the following week,

0:03:04 > 0:03:06high pressure remains dominant to the East of us

0:03:06 > 0:03:11but this low pressure to the West could start to have more inroads.

0:03:11 > 0:03:13A lot of uncertainty tied in amongst that.

0:03:13 > 0:03:16We still go for a predominantly dry picture through this period.

0:03:16 > 0:03:19With temperatures maybe a little above average in the sunshine

0:03:19 > 0:03:20and lighter winds.

0:03:20 > 0:03:23But with that low pressure getting close by, particularly in Western

0:03:23 > 0:03:26areas there is potential for wetter and breezier weather to develop.

0:03:26 > 0:03:28We'll keep you updated here throughout the coming days.

0:03:28 > 0:03:30Bye for now.
